Would I be correct to assume that yet again both sides failed to fill out the fleet fight notification form? It's not difficult. It's not complicated. And it makes EVE a more fun place to shoot stuff in.
But I guess NC would never do that, they've borrowed to the goon tactic of deploying spambots in local to, I **** you not, create MORE lag.
Having said that, I would love to hear an objective report (more detailed than "NC sux", please) on how NC ended up losing the majority of the capital and supercapital ships, despite fielding superior numbers. Hold it right there, bozo! Spelling police!

The Bloody Valentine Incident took place in space at Lagrange 5 where the PLANT-Type space colony Junius Seven was destroyed by an Earth Alliance Fleet led by an Agamemnon-class carrier, the Roosevelt and numerous Mobile Armors that were carrying Nuclear Missiles and killing Coordinators

Basically the Titans were useless and DRF had about 40 or so Nyx's, with about 500k DPS churning out of them. And were more organised. NC weren't that much more than DRF btw, it was probably about even.
Props to DRF though, it was fun following this fight in about 6 channels :D

While SC numbers are close to even, Seems like the Russians had more Motherships than the NC too, fighter bombers seem to have cycled in the lag, where as titans/dreads had more trouble with lag (going by mails) which is fairly strange since usually the opposite is true.

That used to be true but the server handles fighter bombers quite differently now since a couple of patches back. Take a look through some dev blogs.

And yes the only thing dealing any damage were infact drones/fighters/FB if you were lucky enough to get them out. Alliance dude in a drake mentioned he went through 2 reloads in 8hrs or something to give you an idea of how badly modules were cycling. We spent 4hrs+ shooting a nyx at a planet belonging to raiden which eventually died and no KM was generated for
One of the NC titans went from full Shield to dead instantly while he wasnt even primary ...explain that if you can ---------------------------------------------

Edited by: SourceThree on 16/02/2011 15:13:52 This fight was bull$h!t. Had soul crushing lag for over an hour, once I actually got in my client wouldn't load the grid. So I could only see a few neutrals which were actually friendly. Then somehow my ship got popped even though I couldn't see anything. Also there were NC Supercaps and Titans that tried to jump out and log off, and even though they weren't pointed they still somehow died hours after the clients gave the command to jump out or log off. They really shouldn't make it seem like it was a fair fight from any standpoint, would have been epic if the lag weren't so bad!

Yeah, it's called "Lag".

Are you implying that it was the NC forces alone that were lagging? ------- "The capacity to think does not assign importance to your thoughts, it merely indicates you can." |

Hhe was not dumb, he gave you the opportunity to kill NC. :) Which is good. eve is a beautiful game! |

I have played the Eve "Endgame" and let me tell you-it sucks. This isnt me whining about some BS like missions are unbalanced etc-this is about the really important battles- with hundreds of billions of isk on the battlefield-being totally unplayable. This is the most important fight for us in months(if not ever)-and most of our guys couldnt get into system.
I spent several hours just trying to jump in system. Once I loaded grid after a three hour wait-I was stuck at the emergency warp location off the gate for another few hours.
I really can not in good consciousness, recommend eve as a PvP game any more. It really isn't a PvP game if it is unplayable at the core of the endgame when super-capital fights take place.
If you are an aspiring Titan pilot: Don't waste your time on this crappy excuse of a lagged out unplayable "game". Just do some incursions or mining, maybe run some Level 5 missions. As it stands now- there is no reason to field anything big until the game gets "fixed".
This fight would have been very different if the game was playable. Not saying NC would have won or DRF would have done better or worse-but fight would have been much different. Eve Online 1/5 stars

Was this your first big fleet fight?
Dominion introduced some nasty lag, fighter bombers are little memory leak weapons that cannot be switched off under drone models. Everyone already knew this.
Low sec nodes are terrible to fight in. Everybody already knew this
Putting 1000 people into a system without requesting it to be reinforced is a bad bad idea. Everybody already knew this.
There is plenty of pvp to be had, bitter vets tend to avoid situations where you can drive to the shops pick up some beer, drink a couple, make a snack, then watch Family guy before your guns cycle again. |

There should be some kind of punishment for any agressor who complains about lag after failing to fill out the Fleet Fight Notification Form. After all, the agressor knows when and where the battle will take place. He also knows roughly the number of ships that will be involved.
The Fleet Fight Notification Form has become like the sasquatch. Only a rumour. Hold it right there, bozo! Spelling police!

It really does surprise with all the complaining about lag, too much lag, couldn't load the system etc etc, people mindlessly still chase the blob game set. It really is a "hope for the best" situation. Sure it sounds awesome on paper, but the reality it is a long way from your expectations.

Friendly forces (331 ships, 2 840 974 points, 336 pilots) Hostile forces (472 ships, 2 523 312 points, 470 pilots)
Seen from the perspective of RUS it wasn't such a big loose after all. Sure 10 titans popped but who cares, this game is build around looses.
The battle ratio is at 53%:47% efficiency, rounded up by 0.1% in favour of RUS.
For me its a draw in looses. Anyone knows Wayne? :D

Tbh, if u killed it, then we havnt lost it. We only lost 1 mom in that fight. And 2 Titans. Everything else is still much alive. My Nyx only had 2 fighterbombers out when we kileld the first Erebus. Then after awhile 20 fighterbombers got out. And from there it started to work decent. Then suddently my Nyx was just stuck. To many commands had been given and i couldnt move. I ended up at a planet, a moon, and a station but after 8 hours of fighting i evt got the message jumping. And i ended up back home safe...

Yes, you and all the others who leapt to this conclusion would be wrong. The fight started as an ambush that massively escalated. By the time the 'soul crushing lag' had hit, ccp were already swapping us all to a reinforced server/node/whatever. But as mentioned by others, reinforcement aside, the clouds of fighters and fighter bombers kinda borked the whole thing.
Was still 'epic' though

A few corrections before I get into the meat:
- Uemon was already on its own node for that fight
- Uemon was not overloaded because of drones, at least not mostly. We've isolated a bulk of the load to systems that are not present in nullsec.
