I think all us players should be able to fill it with the stuff we see the NPC's build: repair stations, asteroid mining colonies, pleasure hubs, bunkers, and so on. Why do the NPCs get to build this stuff and we do not? All we get are POSes, and those must be at moons.
Also a new feature: Debris fields. Mission runners see the occasional debris field in some mission space. Lets have so big grid filling fields! You would cruise through them treasure hunting, scanning with a scanner module, and if you are close enough to a hidden item, it would pop up on the overview. Things like hackable cans, wrecks, archeology cans, sleeping rouge drones, pirate dens that spew forth rats, rare roids, stranded civilians needing rescuing, missing data files that need to be returned to the proper agent, etc. Treasures for us to hunt.
Debris fields in low sec would contain not only treasure hunters, but those who hunt the treasure hunters.

I had an extravagant idea along the lines of getting rid of pos and spreading its infastructure 0.0 needs all over the place in hopes of allowing for smaller combat making tearing down the control tower itself a drawn out process to help fix 0.0 however since i no longer live in a 0.0 area nor have i been there since the TCU era started Im without merit or rights to suggest such also im too busy with my explorer ships.
I would like to see additional radial memorials added and possibly memorial stations as well. Possibly a space mourge as well. Pre-order your Sisters of ≡v≡ Exploration ship today, Updated 20JAN11

Suggestions:
Agroponics stations - greenhouses in space, providing food for other orbital stations, passing starships and colonies on hostile worlds. Could be very picturesque.
Luxury Liners - NPC (or maybe PC) craft that are designed solely to be aestheticly pleasing, both inside and out. Stylish designs could include sweeping solar sails and hulls that hark back to old seafaring craft.
Satellites - Small stuff in orbit of inhabited planets, launched for various purposes.
Parade Patrol - A flotilla of NPC faction ships on patrol. Instead of orbiting something randomly, they all fly in staggered vee formation in order to show off their discipline and impress passersby.
Space Stadium - Orbital station used for hosting zero-g sports, with live broadcasts to the planets below. A clear dome could give passing starships a glimpse at what's happening beneath.
Slave Transports - NPC haulers which shuttle slaves en masse from one Amarr planet to another. Can be destroyed, with slaves being turned in to a Republic agent for a boost in standings (and a heavy loss of Empire standings). Alternatively, slaves can be sold to other factions which deal in them (like the Cartel).
Junk - Space waste. Accumulates near stations and the orbits of heavily populated planets.
Waste Pods - Disposal units left in a decaying orbit near stars. Sifting through them usually renders useless junk but may occasionally trigger something interesting.
Prospectors - Non-capsuleer survey vessels which can be found in low-sec and nullsec areas, randomly scouting asteroids and planets.
NPC Mining Barges /w escort - Possible alternative to the usual belt rat spawn. More frequent in ORE space.

I for one would like to see the NPC navies duking it out in certain places. And then players could jump in and help the faction of their choosing. Or you could just kill them all and loot the wrecks...

It'd be really awesome to see some binary solar systems. Also I think there should be some more solar traffic. There are these passenger liners that sometimes appear in missions. It'd be great if they also appeared just traveling through system in high sec. Perhaps a city planet or two like Corosaunt.

And according to some websites I had to dig around for the suns can be far enough part that the partner sun can look like another star in the sky. I mean try and find jupiter in our own solar system in the night sky, as large and closer it is, you have a hard time finding it amongst the many dots out there. Any systems where the second sun would be that much apperant though would have a hard time supporting a solar systemt hough as the two would most likely start sharing matter and mass. There are also dead stars that can still constitute it as a binary and the second star is be or is long dead probably from earlier cannibalization. If you want to fill space, allow players to field lower investment, lower yield equivalents to the current pos. Space is empty because PoS mechanics are rather lame and out-dated.
If a roaming gang could fly through a 0.0 system with 5-20 people and proportionally deal that amount of damage to undefended space junk used for refining, mining, production, etc- Then active pvping on a smaller scale would be encouraged, and larger gangs would spread out in systems to deal greater damage over a larger area at once. The trade off is that with more structures, cost is less on an individual scale and the investment overall is lower. More players would be able to enter the wonderful world of anchoring and the pvp behind destroying such things would be accelerated with the new influx of space baubles.
That's all I have to say on the matter. - Battle Dust Proposal |

Trading post POS module. Anchored outside POS shields, acting like a market, but with a max volume it can contain. Anything on market when it's destroyed will be lost. Any taxes goes to the owner of the POS.

Really we need more things at planets and gates. POSes are pretty much at every moon. Also more points of interest in space that are actually useful and serve a point.

Things visible only in certain wavelengths of light, like UV or IR and that you have to train up a skill to view or interact with (make some nifty palettising shaders for the effect as well). Actually this should have been how cloaking worked: a skill for cloaking at certain wavelengths (or "multi-frequency" for all of them) and also a counter-skill and module for viewing that wavelength. Switch it on and your screen goes all Spinter Cell. Same with dynamic content, like anomalies and sites and so on.
Just an idea...

it's not about how many things there are but how the items are placed. There is 300km radius grid and stuff is only at the center. no in grid warpable objects(that are >150km apart)

Well alot of places cannot be that heavy on the grid its determental to the clients, in thoery you can have ALOT of grids in any one solar system and not suffer that much lag as long as they're inactive once they go active though... youd get jita pre mission removal.
But the thing is there doesnt seem to be that many grid places we are very basically limtied to planets stargates moons belts and missions. The idea is to make systems less boring and more exploring in system help them make feel even more massive. To ease Navigation should be handeled on proximity so example you wouldnt see planetary orbital infrasturcutre such as farms and factories until you warp to the planet and thier right click options wouldnt show up until you are in planetary orbit. This would 'spider' out eves map even more than before instead of stargates causing all the spidering the planets are now cuasing it as well turning every system into a star burst on the digital presepctive map.
Musems and Ship Galleries I would like to see. Maybe reload the classic models and skins and have them hang out somewhere in a meusem.

Stargates can only be built in binary systems.
In fact, our own solar system is apparently a binary system, they discovered a brown dwarf in orbit around our sun, it never got the density to start a fusion reaction and light up, but maybe there are planets around it? Who knows what we might find there...

But more and more evidence is saying so, Kelpler telescope has been destroying everything we known about our galaxy by the day. Solid Water on super earths, Two planets on the same orbit, super massive planets not thought possible before. And there is more evidence that a binary star system is perfect coniditons to cook up and form planets.

Hmmm, I also take that stuff with a pinch of salt. Detecting planets, through such tiny motion, attenuated through hundreds of light-years of space, is something I'll only believe possible with current technology when someone takes a polaroid :p.

Then again this Telescope is taking polariods with alot of information on it. Did you know the scope found naturally existing antimatter right here on earth? This is no hubble which all it saw was shadows and lights, this scope is picking up basic compositions from planets and eyeballing them, the scope is less than a year in operation and its found about 600 planets so far ish as far as nasa is concerned and they're constnatly finding more wtf is this stuff and cant explain it yet.

This is alot of speculation (though based on facts) from 2006: http://www.darkstar1.co.uk/binary.html I know it's not the best place to look at it, but the sources mentioned in the book seem genuine.
This is also from 2006, in 2008 NASA confirmed to be researching this thing in large detail because it is very probable. Up to now, no other explanations have been found for the anomalies besides a huge planet 4x the size of jupiter near the Oort cloud.
And I would like to see more anomalies in EVE too, and the paired stars of some binary systems, surely not all of them are too far to see on the map or even in the view?
