Currently I am dualboxing a Dominix and a Raven Navy Issue. Most of the time I grab some aggro with the domi so the drones don't get eaten and set my garde to assist my Raven.
From then on I just keep attacking targets with my raven and the domis drones will shoot at the same target. I was looking to "upgrade" to a Tengu Dominix combo.
So what's your goldmine?

800mm AC Maelstrom and a Domi. Domi releases drones grabs agro then I go to town with the Maelstrom.
If I'm fighting something with triggers I set the Domi's drones to assist the Mael otherwise I just let it do it's thing.
I prefer having the Domi get aggro since it's got the monster sustained tank (not that the Maelstrom is any slack in that dept but it allows me to save my cap charges for running the AB)
Very low maintenance just the occasional glance to make sure the drones are still doing their thing and haven't taken agro (hit em with a Shield transfer if they have)
Actually using a Navy Domi since I had one laying about and the extra mid lets me fit an AB + omni while remaining effectively cap stable. Recently switched it from 4guns +2 drone links to 1 gun 1 larger Armor RR 2 large shield RR 2 DLAs.
I generally prefer taking angel missions when I can get them and spewing anti-mater at angels is kind of pointless. Plus the Domi pilot I use doesn't have any gunnery skills to mention anyway (training to fly a carrier eventually)
Next goal for my MR toon will be the Vargur though that's a few months off since I still have a bunch of support and social skills to finish on him before remapping Perc/will.

Edited by: Sjugar on 02/03/2011 17:10:25 I kinda do the same but instead of making it cap-stable I run my domi with a cap booster, this allows me to fit 2 sentry drone augmentors as rigs enhancing the sentry drone damage by a lot.
And honestly, without guns you can use almost all your low slots for resist and the most cap boosters I've had to use while dualboxing was 4 stuff dies just so fast.

Edited by: Captain Vidal on 02/03/2011 17:34:06 Edited by: Captain Vidal on 02/03/2011 17:32:29 I plan on combo'ing my domi/navy domi with something atm... thinking about a machariel or vindicator glasscannon. Might be tricky with trigger missions though.
Edit: Just have the Domi warp in, agro everything, and let it do it's thing with T2 heavy's or maby T2 sentry's +sentry riggs. Then come in with my glasscannon BS with AB or MwD (? lol) and have some fun. The domi would have 1 Large RG, 3 RR's, and some DLA's. (So I can always burn towards the domi if in need of RR's.) _________________________________________

Would suggest a Mach hybrids are just too limited.
As far as missions with triggers. Just set your domi's drones to passive and have them assist your gunship then they'll only shoot what you want them too.

I would love to see some setups for exploration. I currently run a double tengu team, one fit for ganking and the other fit for scanning, salvaging and hacking, it also has a covops cloak and is used for scouting.
Due to little spare time lately i've only tried this a couple of times. I find alt tabing to be quite annoying and was wondering if anyone has a permanent solution involving a cheap lcd monitor on the desk, right next to my tube thing.

If your graphics cards supports two monitors: monitors aren't that expensive anymore, at least where I live, 22" widescreen for 150 euro. I use a 22"and a 24" besides eachother. Just watch the heat of your graphics card, if I run 3 clients I have to turn a few settings a bit down. Just make sure to run in windowed mode.
Another option would be to run a laptop besides it, eve is known to run with lowend hardware.

Edited by: Teh Supah on 02/03/2011 20:44:49 Tengu + CNR/Golem (Torp) if I can be bothered to dual box. Lately I just ask someone in local to team up.
Warp in, draw aggro with Tengu and start shooting from frigs up. In the meantime Golem/CNR starts working on battleships. Tengu when done with everything else, helps with battleships.

Orca plus Mach or Tengu. Do missions against angels/sansha/br with the mach. Everything else the tengu. Sometimes I just bring the tengu.
The orca has wtfbbqpwnage EHP and so I can just bring it into the mission and start salvaging, and set the drones to assist. All those cap boosters nobody else collects because they take up so much space are great for a ship with all that storage.
Needed to get salvaging 5 for it to be effective, and long range targeting to 3 or 4 so the tractor would go the full 70k.

Well if you are running with a Tengu (or anything BC or smaller for that matter) you don't want to put salvagers on your orca anyway.
Load the highs with tractors and use it to wreck ball then once everything is dead swap out to a dedicated salvage boat (Dessi) and vacuum everything up. then swap back and move to next pocket.
That's how I used to run missions save that I 3 boxed with Skex in a BS my salvager in a cane and a 3rd character in the orca.
I've since trained the Orca pilot into a Domi and the Cane Pilot into a Maelstrom and just bring a noctis back after the fight though. Oh and I stopped missioning on Skex since 3 is just more characters than I care to manage at the same time and the other two actually have better skills for missioning.
Admittedly the Orca has some other advantages it can function as a mobile base allowing refits on the fly which can be handy for stuff like World Collide it also enables one to skip docking to refit cutting a couple minutes out and can carry extra ammo/charges/drones.

Tengu/Torp Raven (pure damage, 2 x TP and ab,no tank just some ehp just in case). Raven has round 30km torp range with rigs and skill, so need to fly around a bit. Tengu takes aggro, Raven takes out BS and drones for frigs. When BS's are gone, get noctis to start salvaging while Tengu finishes up.

this works nice. Ran this setup, rattler a nice meatshield to make a cnr more ganky. And if you focus fire the cnr's 7 luanchers, rattlers 4 luanchers and 5 sentries on one bs...you almost feel bad for them. Almost... Had the cnr's lights pop frigates, but sure if mediums used the melting be quicker.
Liked my tengu more so went back...that dual box setup is a tengu and orca fleet boosting. Orca alt training slowly for a proper cs, orca lets me run 2 siege warfare links and a tractor though so not bad. Gives me nice boosts to reduce need for ds gear (like to keep her an affordable t2 ride where possible). Tractor brings in wrecks in a nice cluster on the orca. Cleans the cargo out since that is bulky stuff. Mission runner just hits the clusters later when mission done. doesn't need to tractor the crap...max salvagers on the dessie with all salvage tackle makes short work of the salvage (too cheap for noctis, dessie an me got a long history, she's a keeper).

I've been using Mach / Vargur for damage and Rattler with AB + large remote shield rep + TP running cap stable with torps and 5x ogres and heavy shield rep drones. With that setup Mach / Vargur can be fitted for purely damage and range and with Rattler giving some extra dps, missions go fast.

Tengu + Domi is not really an upgrade. The only advantage the tengu has other than lower sp for t2 fitting is it's speed which is negated by having to wait for the big potato to slow boat between gates.
Torp golem + domi I've done before and it works nice. Fit torps + tractors on the golem. Domi salvages beside the golem with drones assigned while the golem poons.

Though i wish i could of had duel machs' they would have destroyed everything so fast

my 2 variants for rogue drones hordes/patrols: 1) Gila (tank + drones, 465DPS) + Nightmare (about 500DPS, cloak to not get aggro when starting new spawn) 2) Gila (tank + drones), rorq + 2-3 hulks for mining at the time

Atm. using a Raven / Tempest or Typhoon / Tempest setup. I working my skills towards a Golem / Maelstrom setup (Golem / Vargur in the future).
My wife is soon ready to tag along in her Rattlesnake, so it should make for some pretty easy lv4 missioning.

Used to run 1200 dps perma tank cruise CNR + Glas-Abaddon ( TACH II's ) Raven aggrod all, Abaddon just melted everything.
Now though i go Tengu / Zealot ( Legion soon ;) It's just more fun, the speed and agility makes the missions more fun. Cruisers are FUN! Battleships AINT ! :P |

I would probably for something that uses AC's and have light drones on aggressive. Basically go in and start blowing stuff apart. It takes time to change ammo and select targets (if you want one ship going after BS and one for everything else). Just pile em up and start shooting.
I'm leaning towards using mach+mach and such. No reason to make it more difficult or annoying. Of course if you want to salvage then it's another story. Still, if you want to salvage...well nothing beats the noctis in that. I hardly think you will get any advantage over using a marauders and salvaging at the same time. Takes time and removes dps. What I mean is that you can probably finish the mission faster while having two gunboats and then coming back with a noctis to clear it all out. Also as some missions just aren't worthy enough to salvage...would you strip your salvagers from the marauder while encountering a mission like that? No, you would probably keep them and just not use them or "i know it's crap, but i have nothing else to do" salvaging.
The only reason I would think of using anything in-mission to salvage would be due to ninjas.
For me it's "get the best single ship mission runner and then 2x it and remove even more tank for gank". |

Dual boxing, it depends upon whether you have 1 monitor, or 2. With one monitor, I like dual tach nightmares. The cycle time between each shot is long enough that I don't have to worry about guns being idle while I alt tab. With two monitors, I like switching one of my guys to a machariel - lots of closerange dps, lots of longrange dps. Lately though I've been getting bored and tried dual boxing tengu's. I had forgotten why I had moved away from caldari missiles... now I remember... between flight time and not having to worry about transversal, some of the most boring mission running ever. Of course, the tengu is great for an alt when dual boxing incursions :)

Edited by: Tariq Norn on 03/03/2011 13:41:36 I have run a whole number of different dual boxing setups.....
I tried tengu/machariel....greta combined dps, but setting up the mach for max dps makes it fragile as heck, so you have to watch it.
Tengu/dominix....great killing, I made the domi uber sentry dps, with sentry rigs, all lows for tank, mids for drone tracking and cap....it still has sufficient tank, but is so slow its unreal.
Tengu /CNR....prolly the best all round for speed....the tengu standard fit as per Liang is great for gank/tank, while the CNR can fit sufficient tank to manage any aggro it gets, while utterly pasting the bs class rats. As an earlier poster said, the tengu works up from frigates to bs, while the cnr works down from bs to frigates.....assign your light drones to assist the tengu.
I have tried other combos for fun, tengu/sleipnir.....fun and fast, but again watch aggro on the sleipnir.
Tengu/nightmare.....personally, I dont see what all the fuss about nightmares is. It is great versus sansha/blood.....thats it.....its pants versus anything else. The cnr, tengu, mach or sleipnir beat it for actual useable dps versus any other rat.....its slow, cumbersome, and even with max gunnery skills, its rof and tracking is less than satisfactory....certainly not a patch on a mach with a rack of 800's.
Probably the ultimate dual box, for dps, gank, tank etc etc is a tengu/tengu setup....these ships will focus fire and melt bs, while splitting fire and clearing out a whole room full of smaller ships in literally seconds.....its actually hard to keep up with flipping between the two characters fast enuff. And they can both be fitted for max tank and gank at the same time, so no glass cannon problems.
