no. drop that subject, please. officially it's merely 'waste-removal-specialists'
Calling for such a flag and whining about "ore thieves" will only get CCP to do the easiest thing: remove the ability to jetcan mine. ______________________ Best darned links ingame and out (backup) |

Why can't everybody in Eve be so proactive ? This is so much better than whining.
Go Vernn, I hope you get the result you're looking for

Edited by: MinorFreak on 02/02/2005 11:15:13 well, i'm certainly looking forward to the debriefing session. I'm sure there's a few interesting things he's found out that we can let everyone know about.
So only ganking lowers you sec.status. hmmmmm...did they try pod-killing you too? i'll bet they don't cause i'm assuming that impacts your sec.stat by a huge amount, compared.
hmmmmmmm...well, if i was in your shoes i'll equip modules that lowered shield capacity, yet were cheap compared to my insurance costs on a dummy indy. hmmmmm...i wonder if there's any slot2 modules that do that as well...hmmmmm, how about 1mn MWDs?
hmmmmmmm...but, what if structure/armour needed reducing more...heheeheh i've got lots of nanofiber internals --- ooooooo and maybe we could get better results out of those silly reinforced bulkheads. ______________________ Best darned links ingame and out (backup) |

Well they could be in a pod in which case concord dont gank them, usefull tactic to traverse accross the map if your a pirate, yarrgh!
Anyway back to the origional post, why dont you try to tank your indy, fit some webbers or jammers on it and see how long you can make it last. The lowslots are not just for expanders you know

no. the point is to lower their sec.status...if concord ganks them before the kill shot, there's not much point in having a dummy indy.
As for the webber suggestion...hmmmmmm...i think it just might clue them in.
Anyways, i wonder if you could survive an encounter with gank squads if you had enough middle slots to fit shield expanders and boosters and hardeners? You wouldn't need alot, but enough till concord dealt with them. ______________________ Best darned links ingame and out (backup) |

Edited by: Jim Steele on 02/02/2005 13:28:31 yeah but your wasting your time trying to lower there sec status when they can just re-cycle there alts! I think it would be more intresting to see how long you can last and possibly take some out, they wouldnt expect it, hey you could even stick a sm on there and try to pk them hopefully this would make them re appear somewhere far away and cost them travel time.
ok it wouldnt do much for your sec status but it would raise a laugh im sure.

Yup, thats the point I belive, as if they recycle their alts, they can be petitioned against, and therefore banned. :)

But that's exactly the point of this tactic - to push down their sec status until they start recycling the alts. As soon as they start recycling the alts, the GM's can get involved with a view to banning.

Well, not to put a damper on your fun there vernn, but, what if they don't "re-roll their alts" as you call it? AFAIK, and I could be wrong, but, the only way they are getting banned from this is if they recycle the alts and go back to attacking you again.
Once they get that low sec status and decide to fly off somewhere else then recycling or even keeping these alts but not attacking you anymore.
Like I said though, I could be wrong but, I think your plan could have gone better had you not posted this on the forums for them to see.

Edited by: Kota on 02/02/2005 23:48:52 Idea to stop them from recycling alts
It wouldn't stop them immediately, but in long run they would run out of alts to recycle.

Try going out with a good clone and no implants. When they blow you up talk a lot of smack, taunt them, try and get them to pod you. :)

Anymore updates? Did they show up again? The GM said earlier this alt recycling is a bannable offense. Hopefully they did this and were shown the door.

I relocated to a much more secluded system far far away. However, I just checked my buddy list and one of the gankers is on. I suppose ill roll over there in an indy and see if they wanna play.
I just wanted to take a break from the war for a few days to get some quiet mining done and to get some money together, but with how relentless these guys are, they will always be around until they are banned, so i'll get em eventually.

Well, no response to the smacktalk. Reborn 006 is on, but none of his buddies have logged on yet. Who knows, maybe they got banned. Either way, I went and got my old procurer I forgot about and stripped it down and its setting in the eletta ice field now. I'm gunna go watch a movie. We'll see what happens.

Originally by: Vernn I'm not sure about this, but I don't think they get a security status hit unless they kill me! I think ill take the damaged iteron back to the belt so they can blow it up so they get the security hit. My whole goal is to just be done with these fools once and for all and the faster that happens the better, even if it means sacrificing 10 more ships!
They get a 0.5 sec hit for shooting you, and a 2.0 sec hit for blowing your ship. The sec system is screwed, there is a decimal place adrift somewhere, because a 0.5 sec hit drops you from say 0.0 to -0.05... Strange.
