Its going to be packed with micro transactions from this point on.
How many threads are you going to whine in about microtransactions? You don't like them? DON'T USE THEM! Fairly simple really isn't it?
There isn't someone pointing a gun to your head forcing you to purchase anything in EVE, come to think of it, if you are SO outraged by all this, feel free to just stop playing EVE altogether.

As long as it's limited to gimmicky stuff, or bundled with services I don't mind. I appreciate your sentiment that it's a slippery slope, but they haven't done any REAL micro-transaction stuff yet. Technically that PLEX gets you an HD feed to Fanfest, and they just throw in the shirt. Once they start selling in game stuff as stand-alone items for plex, rather than isk, then I'll worry.
You know, if you think about it you can buy anything with PLEX as it is now. So every item can be considered eligible for micro-transaction. You don't have a problem with that system do you? I only briefly played with those but from memory yes
Do scars alter facial hair as well? Optimally it would cut out swaths of eyebrow, beard or whathaveyou if there is a scar underneath.
The eyebrow would have a missing bit if memory serves yes. Cant say about beards as i prefer to play my own gender. But ill start it up and make a male char and see..

Edit, just tested and no the beard will cover up the scar. Same with eyebrow.. I remembered wrong
Well, add that to your bug list CCP. The ladies love scars but we need 'em to look real with facial hair. ==================== ~/~ Sultan of Buruni |

I'm just going to throw out there (not that it justifies anything in terms of plex for incarna features) the fact that plex is 15$. I honestly doubt they're going to sell one in-game t-shirt for 15$.
Actually, considering the player base for Eve, I have to wonder if they could even get away with selling cosmetic stuff for any money. I honestly wouldn't think that that many Eve players would be willing to pay for that sort of thing...

I hope it stays with the Intaki and Minmatar, Tattoos for them is part of their culture. The Amarr would look stupid with them because of their "religious" ethos, and I don't believe they had them before.

So.. CCP.. I need a Gurista logo, the Cal Logo, the Gal logo, the Min logo and the Amarr logo.
Then I'll be happy :)

I had a chance to take a look at the Amarr and the tattoos are done well, at least they are different than the Minmatar ones. I've just been kind of afraid of a homogenization of the races. I was hoping for a chance to get my old racial hair style I used to have. But I guess that's going to be a long shot.

To be honest i think they went a bit overboard with the body mod options now
I mean seriously you only have so few hair and clothes options still, but they added a lot of scars and piercings and such to every race (some still not done though). It's like we're all brutor street thugs not spaceship captains .

You sound like the guys saying "You think gasoline is too expensive? Well, don't buy it! No one is pointing a gun to your head forcing you to have a car. You are free to walk whenever you like."
The problem is that at some point there might be a de-facto need to use microtransactions to play "properly" or "competitively". The HD feed for the last Alliance Tournament was free. Let's see if the next one will be free as well...

CCP has introduced "Character Customization" as a station service. This is not to be confused with the Character Creator and Character Re-Customization that we have had up until now on TQ.
So the Character Creator is only available for new characters and those not upgraded to the new HD avatars yet. It is a one time use deal and it will let you do everything except change race and gender.
The Character Re-Customization was just to let us redo the avatars from scratch due to limited instructions on how to use the Character Creator (and I don't think we will see this return again).
Now for the new feature the new Character Customization, it is unlimited to use, it will not let you re-sculpture your character (chaging face shape, adding removing fat/muscles, freckles, aging, face scarring nor skin tone). So what can you do with it, well, you can change all the other character attributes (eyes, hair, facial hair, eyebrows, makeup, clothes, piercings, scars and tattoos) and change the pose for updating the in-game portrait.

Will we get another resculpt or so as Incarna trickles in? Sometimes things look different than intended after you see your character walking around.
Also, will we be able to edit height with the initial Incarna release?

PLEX existing is just CCP trying to make an evil in MMOs work slightly in their favor. They get to pat themselves on the back for being "innovative and cutting edge" while taking their slice of RMT.
On Incarna, it could have been player controlled, with certain players making and fashioning vanity items out of new resources. Players could open storefronts, build items, compete over resources blah blah blah. You know, something that fits into the player driven market and economy that CCP loves to point out. Yes, if you wanted to, you could buy PLEX to fund buying clothes, just like anything in EVE. But no. Insert PLEX somewhere into CCP and get your clothes. The end.
It won't stay with just vanity items, it is a slippery slope. PLEX for remap will come back and I am afraid to think of what else will come riding in its coattails.

Comparing items in a game (that are probably just going to be novelty items) to gasoline is as stupid as it is pointless.
