CCP told us it was going to be here on sisi before fanfest, but was delayed due to problems, then said it will come out a week or two after fanfest, its almost been a month now. Where is it? i want to start testing it, so when it comes out this summer its like 95% bug free. Poeple have been asking the same ? . We want to know, so let us know Dev's.

The current build on sisi is a update to the cliant that needs to be tested before CQ can be deployed. Best guess on CQ now is later today or Monday depends on bugs.

if what they showed at fanfest - that 20 second video that looked a total mess - is what they have then it looked 6-8 weeks from finished.
no idea why they spun the cq stuff so prematurely but its not as if they don't have a track record of failing to manage expectation.
its ready when its ready. they still got a couple of months till 'summer'.

honestly i think CCP need to stop telling people about their next projects, they are never delivered on time and it just annoys people.
1. listen to feedback 2. plan project 3. test core actions to see if possible. 4. create intial work 5. re-asses make sure all still ok 6. get working copy on internal test server. 7. inform public 8. release on test server. 9. work out bugs 10.listen to more feedback 11. release
people would be alot less annoyed IMO.

You know what actually worries me more about CQ ? Well, two big things, actually.
First, that the CQ was mentioned at the Fanfest as a REPLACEMENT of the current "station interior".
I certainly hope that was merely a slip of the tongue of those mentioning it, and that CQ will be optional as opposed to mandatory. You know, since from the very start Incarna was mentioned (up until this FanFest), it was repeatedly said that Incarna and anything related to it would be a purely OPTIONAL thing, nobody being forced into it. However, if CQ are mandatory as opposed to optional, since CQ is basically the first step to Incarna... well... I would consider that as being forced into it.
Second, in case my paranoia was not actually just paranoia on the first item, the problem of performance.
The Incarna engine as it is now (see character creator) is very heavy-duty on the processing power compared to the current "idling while docked" load, so people with machines that before were quite adequate for purposes of station-trading or skill changing will all of a sudden find themselves barely able to do anything at all, since even on the lowest everything, they can barely get a few FPS inside CQ. Sure, CCP might end up heavily scaling down everything in the CQ so that even crappier machines could handle it, but still...

Jump on sisi I can't right now and see it the new carbon ui improves the CC response time too. If it does then alot of the complants will go away. The response time on the new client is suppost to be epicly quicker then it is now.
I see no problem loading the CQ if there is still a built in timers for how quick you can undock. I expect that when this is done the RP angle of "boarding ship" timer will replace the undock timer and the amount of time it take to do something will not change.
We will have to see if the load time for either envirement is over 10 seconds. If so we have a problem.

Yes you should, if you're into the whole immersion thing.

Ideally some option to make it default at your leisure. I certainly won't be going back to the boring ship spinning. There are two sides to the EVE community; those that scream for change and those that scream against it. Often they are the same person. |

Very much agreed.
The only thing that I can think of that might force one to use the new view is that in the past they have mentioned that Incarna content would switch to different servers, seperate from the in-space servers (if you will pardon the terminology).
While this is an excellent way of doing things, it might force a switch to the Incarna view if that switch has to happen during the act of docking... making disabling it or keeping the old view problematic.
I have no idea if Incarna is still going to work in this fashion, it's simply the only reason I could think of that might keep the new balcony view and/or CQ from being optional.
Hopefully this is not the case.

It's amazing how many people are so anxious to try out what we already know to be an incomplete version of the next summer expansion. I for one, don't care about it. In fact, I pretty much prefer to wait for the summer expansion instead (when it's fully finished).

Well the point to get it on sisi is to start testing it for this summer, i dont want to play with it, i want to test it out to make it better for when it does come this summer.

lol, this. I'm dreading yet another untested 'feature' in this game already. Like there isn't enough haphazard, poorly coded, poorly designed, poorly implmeneted crap just thrown in lately.
On the other hand, since when does CCP even bother listening to what testers have to say? NM, I just want it on sisi so I can get used to the idea of how badly we're all going to get screwed over.

It's not "mandatory" it's the medium ground. everything can be done without taking a step. It's just the view you see, which is not giving up much since all you do was spin.
and yes I loved spinning, but I don't consider this a change to my game in the slightest.
also like always there will the option for a black screen.

Well, it is mandatory in the same sense as is the current ship-spinning view. I don't like the choice between loading you avatar or having a black screen, when what we currently have would have worked perfectly.
I just can't understand why we couldn't have a station interface button for entering the balcony/cq from the current ship hangar view. What could have been the reasoning for this kind of design? Usage metrics? ...

With no communication, the fans get wild speculation, right?
We'll right now I'm having a pretty hard time speculating how the majority of the development team that is not working on the space game is having trouble texturing a single placeholder for CQ which is roughly the size of a large closet.
Thoughts?

'
becuase that's bad game design?
someone would be like 4 weeks in and just happen to find the "walk " button.
CCP have a long history of
A.excel sheets in space B.hiding features*gun grouping until recently, epic mission arcs, faction mission agents, cosmos mission*
having a a button put you in a view that shows the same thing you were just looking at but from a different point of a view with an avatar in the picture is pointless, and repetitive.
think about it, the only difference would be that a person is in the shot. it's the same ship hanger.
why would any competed game designer make 2 screens when they are almost identical.

And what you do get will be enough of a demo/evaluation for new-MMO that they won't need to implement more. So the rest will never happen.
