IMHO,soemthing else. The chronicle has jovians listed as using lasers which IMHO i feel are a bad choice. We already have lasers.Amaar.
Sure gallente/caldari use rails, but caldari is MAINLY missles and EW in the first place,rails/blasters were simply there to give them turrets and gallente is mostly about drones/blasters.
IMHO i think i would like to see joves with fushion weapons.

Imo Laser Beams are fine, they also look pretty
What bothers me is their mothership, did they mean titan? ---------------------------

I always thought that Jovians used ion beam weapons like the stuff in Homeworld or Freespace. I was a bit disappointed to discover that there were no beam cannons in Eve. They were always one of my favorite weapon types...
For those of you who don't know, an ion beam is entirely different from a laser beam. Ion beams are when you superheat a gas of some sort to the point where it becomes plasma and then use electromagnets to pump it out in a stream of superheated ions.
Not sure what a fusion weapon would be. You can't really make guns that use fusion in any way, unless you mean projectiles/missiles with fusion warheads. There's no way to shoot a fusion reaction.

Stellar converters.
I'd imagine the jove will sport a wide array of all the empires weaponssystems, only better.
Sonic weapons would be nice but then we'd have to have some spindoctor working on the patient first to explain how soundwaves travel in vacuum. Just imagine the static you'd be getting while jove battleships shoot at you. The screen will start to shake and then CTD or shut off all as a result of an actual planned jove attack.

Id say Dreadnaught but possible.Reminds me so much of the Deathstar Im waiting for the Lucas Arts Fanboi's to decend on us in a hail of plastic lightsabers.
I like the Laser usage of the Jovians. They dont need to be Lasers like Amarr's have but "Jovian Gank-o-Matic" lasers. Id also like to see a proper Anti-Matter war head with a proper Bang. _______________________________________________ An tÚ nach bhfuil lßidir nÝ folßir dľ bheith glic -He who is not strong must be crafty |

Well, tbh, I would expect them to be using pulse lasers.
Theyre supposed to be uer aren't they ? then they\ll be using the uberguns too.
Oh, and in commin sci-fi "fushion weapons" are seen almost as often as "pie-fighters" and "botherships".
Fusion weapons ? ok, but i think fusion is like the bronze age to these people really... _______________________________________________

Yea i doubt many people were awed by your ability to pretend you REALLY couldnt guess the h was a typo.
We already have amaar pulse lasers.
And jovian's gonna have to be totally re-balanced so the "OMGWTFPWNED" thing cant fly with them. They are gonna be better than everything else, yes, but theres gonna be limitations.
Something like reaching 10 mill SP,1 million LP with a jovian agent, and being offered a chance to undergo genetic engineering to become soemthing similar to a jovian, then starting from scratch with greatly improved attributes, chosoing a bloodline, training jovian variant of skills like "jovian hull upgrades" to use jovian armor repairers, etc.
Otherwise, imagine if players could choose to start a jovian character right away.......theres no way jovians will be able to have better tech in that case,as all races are SUPPOSED to be balanced(HINT : DO SOMETHING ABOUT AMAAR).

Mothership = teh cheesy. Reminded me of Independance Day...
As for lasers, I think it suits em. I always thought missiles and projectile weapons seemed a bit... primitive for people who have FTL travel, can terraform a planet and are clinically immortal. Lasers 4 teh win!
And stars are HUUUGE fusion reactions, as I'm sure you know, and I don't think I need to tell you how good a weapon they'd be if you could move one...
Your Star perfectly strikes Apoc, wrecking for... ---------------- Haha, stupid monkey! Now I'VE got the Oscar! Enjoy your worthless gun! |

If you guys read the EVE Chronicle on Titans, the Jove Mothership is their Titan, they have 3 of them.
I don't see a problem with Jove's using laser weapons, I mean they use no real ammo. And since they are Jove, they are probably really good with high damage and low cap usage.
Of course that isn't the only weapon they have. Another chronicle details how the Jove's have some strange super weapon, whose effects are unknown. -------------------------------- CCP can patch away bugs, but they can't patch away stupidity. |

I'm guessing the joves just used lasers against the ammarians to show them they could beat them with their own weapons. so they would probably use missiles against caldari, projectiles against minmatar and drones/hybrids against gallente if they have to fight them. just to show them 'anything you do, we can do beter'.
and the mothership would be one of their 3 titans yes.

Oh you mean something like an Ion Blaster?
Yeah pity we didnt have them, then the Gallante could specialise in using them
They also have electron and neutron versions. --------------------------------------------------

IF it won't cause more lag and crashes, give them something new.
If it can't be done without more bugs, give them projectile weapons.

Imo Jovians shouldnt be something thats available to everyone and his mom. Limitations would apply as to what you can and cannot do as Jovian.
Imagine 3 Jovian battleships ganking people in some low sec sys, that would be pretty silly
And it should under no circumstance be selectable from the start screen.
Personally the becoming a Jovian should be a risky option. Something like, when you become a Jovian youll get increased attributs, meaning faster skill training and access to Jovian technology. But a s a Jove you should only be able to be cloned once, so the first time you get podded youll only lose implants. The 2nd time you would lose 50% of your skill points.
Basicly youd have the option to become more powerfull then the average player but at the same time you would have to use this power wisely because once you die youd actually die.
Atleast thats what i think ---------------------------

I feel they should be a new weapon type just b/c they are a new race, and maybe we should start looking around other sci-fi oriented material. Like fusion, and ion beams that were mentioned, but maybe some other things as well...for example, blasters like in start wars that shot out bolts, or maybe the zats from stargate SG-1, or maybe photon torpedo types from startrek or even tactical nukes. I've been thinking trying to come up with a totally new weapon, but well, im not too creative...lol Here you go...what about a weapon, that uses a type of charge like hybrids but uses warp drive technology to propel the charge FTL to the target...causing extended kinetic damage and having extreme ranges...but very slow rate of fire...*shrugs*

When we're already on the pipe, how about them tagging targets after the lock then that tag draws in a focused solar flare from the sun to burn the ship. looks like that's what happened in the recent story.

I would like to see them using a new type of weapon, mix of a weapon or just something new altogether. A controlled plasma beam would be cool, like in the halo book series...for all who read them...you understand...

I don't who all here watches Andromeda. But how about Point Singularity weapons? Pretty much a mini black hole. That would be considered more technilogically advanced than anything currently in the game, and would the cadillac among weaponry.
