Originally by: Soden Rah Make CQ OPTIONAL on docking (ie we dock as normal then can chose to get out our pods, with decanting video as an option) Don't do stupid RL money microtransactions. Don't remove what limited clothing options we already have so you can make more money. Do allow the manufacture and selling of clothing for isk. Do allow us to quickly change clothes without updating out portrait. Do take the extra time and delay launch if that's what's needed to achieve this.
This!
I also love the Plex prices in Jita today.
Excellent threadnought!

I spent a good solid 12 hours on Duality playing with the changes so far so this is my opinion on what I've seen so far.
I'm not going to comment on the whole AUR issue because the fact that we're seeing a test build so far along means that the decision to implement this has already been made.
1.) How does one get a job being a clothing designer for these clothes? I checked the CCP hiring page and I didn't see any job posts for this. Does having RL fashion experience help you in any way? I am asking this because I wasn't particularly interested in many of the new clothing choices and I think I'd be able to help out in this regard. Please tell me who to contact about this :)
2.) None of the new clothing options help you build a look, or have the kind of lust worthy branding that will inspire people to pay hundreds of dollars for a pair of shoes. I know that when I walk on stations in my power suit, I want to be wearing my Louboutins, and the three options so far are kind of lackluster! The design intent is a very subdued and the execution is subpar. Seriously, this needs to be worked on if you're looking at this to be a viable revenue stream.
3.) As a UI issue, the way that the clothes are presented is not going to be friendly to the sims/barbie type of crowd you're looking to bring to Eve. I already have issue w/ fighting with the UI, when I have a station hanger with 300 or 400 items in it. Even with Station Containers and other workarounds it rapidly turns into a clickfest. Separate closet for clothing option in a later iterion of CQ perhaps?
4.) I hope the current dev build is further along, because there's a huge lack of polish on this one! Without being a pessimist perhaps it's time to change the release date so that it's not rushed out.
5.) Exchange rate w/ AUR/ISK/PLEX needs to be seriously worked on considering spike in Jita prices for a build that's a month or two out.

with the name of whos it was on them :)
I proposed butchering corpses for their implants a year or two ago... It wouldn't be that much of a stretch, taking a dead man's clothing, his implants, and his guns.

Bump. I actually like the morbid obscenity of this.

I am by no means suggesting we should turn EVE into The Sims: Spaceships! but, player created content for avatar centric character customization is inarguably an aspect of gameplay I am sure the players of EVE would
enjoy.
I was really going after clothing specifically because I think there is great potential for exploring clothing styles that would further the development of the Eve Iconography. I was also fishing for some new work ;)
It would be a really cool thing if they do add player-owned content and make a huge impact and it would offer some tremendous gameplay options, but ultimately I think that's impossible at this time (and possibly forever) for the following reasons.
1.) The resources needed to monitor, approve and deal with this content are considerable and probably already allocated. 2.) It doesn't help AUR at all and I'm not going to get involved in the AUR=bad issue debate, because like I already said--it looks like the decision on AUR has already been made so debating it further is kind of pointless.
3.) I want Eve to continue in its unique visual style. The clothing options so far are limited but they are distinctly part of the Eve Iconography. The last thing I want to see is genre-breaking stuff floating around that will ruin my Eve Experience.
in other words
inb4 giant floating *****es, Hello Kitty, and symmetrical Caldari ships.

Don't give anyone any ideas...
AUR for ship crews?
