Whilst I agree that, visually and technically, this is quite the achievement, the humour isn't exactly high-brow (basically, it's one step above fart jokes and knock-knock jokes).
As someone who has dabbled in machinima, my hat is most definitely off to John but please, can we keep the adulation and hero worship at a reasonable level?

While I have no issues with people NOT liking Clear Skies, if the poster only wanted to say he didn't like it, then that's all he had to say. He was however clearly trolling as evidenced by the actual content of his post. He is stating that Clear Skies is sub par as a fact, not an opinion or it would have been prefaced by "in my opinion".
He then also decides he speaks for everyone by stating

Careful, that is quite debatable.  If the VFX team, and Loxy in particular worked on big massive epic films like Clear Skies, then I doubt that very much else would get done :P

personally i think ccp should award Ian Chisholm a special edition tempest with the Clear Skies Logo on the "wingy bit" for all the promotion and potential new players this movie will bring to eve online :)

No kidding. This guy has probably been as effective at bringing in and retaining new players as CCP's best advertising campaign. And they don't even pay him! It's guys like him that make EvE .... EvE.

I'm quite jealous of your 40 mbps upload speed, what ISP do you have?
It is a VPN over two bonded business ADSL2+ lines provided by the datacentre that my company is partnered with for free. Allows me to debug large cluster services that are live from home. Usually it costs about 100 quid per month, but since I know the CTO of the datacentre personally, I'm getting it for free. Best alternative I can get since I don't currently live in a fibre optic area. That and he knows my company is going to be throwing a good bit of business his way 
However if you're in the UK, you can get similar upload speeds depending on where you live, over ADSL2+ lines. The company I used before I switched over was bethere.co.uk
