Can now login I have to add that CCP you really need to get with your paying public and provide better customer service as my experience over the past 24 hours has been at the least terrible. I would like a dev to contact me to discuss some type of recompense for the issues encountered and also for finding a fix for this issue for you.
LOL. You got your issue figured out in 24 hours or whatever, not that bad. I know it's frustrating when things don't work but give CCP a break. This is the best MMO that I've experienced and I'm sure CCP is doing what they can to get things figured out.
Anyways, no issues with the patch on my end, not sure I like the new hud and it took me a minute to find the session change timer. I am wondering why missiles have brackets now????
roberto, you're far kinder on sol epoch than i was going to be, haha
"recompense!" indeed a classic...
as for my part, my old laptop is actually very well with the new patch! thanks, ccp!

PI is still hosed. Clearing cache does NOT make any difference. I have planets that extract nothing, others that extract at substatially lower rate, and extractors that are missing, yet all the connections are still there and the head units....

Can we please have the old, yellow capacitor indicator back? This orange really makes it much less visable against some spaces. And it reallly should be less transparent; or rather, not transparent at all. --

Adjust your overview settings. That is more than likely the issue. Had the same problem. The over view was "reset" or something. Try that and see was happens.

Originally by: CCP Zymurgist EVE Online: Incursion 1.6 has been deployed. This release includes updates to the CarbonUI as discussed in this dev blog by CCP Snorlax. Please check the patch notes for full details of this release.
We hope you enjoy this latest release and we encourage you to provide us with feedback. There is a known issue with T3 ships that you have previously viewed. These ships have engaged their reverse thrusters causing them fly backwards. Clearing your cache will reset their on-board computer and cause them to fly in the correct direction again. Please note that any issues you may encounter with this patch should be directed to the Incursion 1.6 Issues Thread.
Yea has been awsome so far, what would we have done without this useless update... maybe play the game without crashing or all the other BS.. maybe, just maybe you'll test the next update before thrusting all the bugs, bug fixes on us.. you would have thought there would have been something learned after the last major update where we had like 7 fixes in a week.

The world maybe never ended in 2012 as was predicted, but on current performance I predict that Eve will end on June 21st unless CCP give themselves a right kick up the ass.....the writing is on the wall imo.

I am extremely unhappy with the pinned window shading, can we get an option to toggle between shaded and unshaded?
Also, it appears the sell button is no longer in focus, so I can't simply right click, sell, press enter to sell an item. This significantly slows down my salvage sales.
The shadows on my avatar have changed and I'm not happy with the new one, I'll need to redo it again, but that's a trivial matter.
Otherwise, I do agree the UI looks great and seems quite quick. I just need to see through my windows and want to sell faster.
Thanks!

It literally takes every single of my characters 10-15 minutes to login starting at "Enter the game" Since latest patch. This is so very annoying if it isnt going to be fixes soon i might be pulling out 3 accounts. Any ideas?

I realize there are more pressing matters, but the following changes (which were not mentioned in the patch notes) are horrible.
- Asset window sorts stations ascending instead of descending when sorting by number of items
- Asset window updates inconsistently. When expanding or collapsing a station, the window may randomly scroll to top or bottom. Scroll position should stay in the position allowing the top most visible station to remain the top most visible station - just as as before.
- Asset window no longer leaves a station highlighted after collapsing. This makes the previously mentioned issue even worse.
- Dialogue window for making contract no longer shows number of contracts as "{existing contracts}/{out of total available}" on bottom of window
Is there any hope that the functionality will be returned to how it worked before the patch, in any of these cases? Were items 1 and 4 intentional, or just oversight caused by changes in UI's back-end?
It seems like every time I've logged in since the patch, I've found something to complain about - whether it be POSs 10,000km from where they should be, to more minor annoyances like UI deficiencies. This is not typical of my EVE experience and it's a bit disappointing. I hope you can get it all sorted out soon. Also, please return to heavily documenting changes in the patch notes. |

To all windows users, who experience CTD while at-tabing I have a proposition. The Linux community already dealt with this bug like already 2 years ago. We call it the focus bug. For some low level programming fix windows systems were not affected. Till the recent UI&focus-fix patch. Patch that blew the old legacy programming away.
http://wiki.eveonline.com/wiki/Install_EVE_on_linux_with_wine
By erasing Windows OS and installing Ubuntu OS you will also receive more cpu and memory to run Eve on with the same hardware! So maybe migrating from Microsoft to Linux is the alternative you should be looking for. I leave it as your choice. -- B=g, Honor, Nar=d. Semper Fidelis. Nec Hercules Contra Plures. |

The Tyrannis Incursion 1.6 patch feels like a burning sack of **** thrown up against a brick wall. There might be some nice modern art that results, but the stink and mess below is intolerable to most.
I remember that infamous patch from a year ago where POS modules were reprocessed and massive amounts of PI materials were injected into the market. And where friendly POSes were slaughtering +10 standing pilots.
The level of patch quality hasn't changed much at all.

Often CTDs and warpings without warping tunnel visual effect (not every time). Capacitor backwards in fiting screen and a slowness feeling when click/response in general. Also weird thin lines rounding around my modules when they are in cicle. Not reffering to the circular line that shows the cicle progress but straight thin white lines like the circle would be moved by a puppeter. Awfull capacitor status color and transparency and nothing I like or nottice I have liked.

Agree. Also, the cap circle in the HUD is not central to the HUD - it's offset a pixel or two to the left.

It would be nice if the UI was as configurable as a well done html page by the use of something like css.
I STILL can't create an alt on this laptop...have to go use a newer computer. I'm certainly not going to upgrade a perfectly functional computer just so I can get past muddy, ill designed underlying graphics libraries.

Originally by: CCP Bella Bee Sol epoch - it means the issue has been assigned to a programmer to investigate and work on, there isn't a known issue with that graphics card so at this point we don't know what the problem is. While we investigate, you could try deleting (renaming) your settings folder and see if that helps.
Aaron West - thanks, we are aware of the PI issue and treating it as high priority.
Settings folder? where is that? But more to the point is that you have no idea why I cannot logon or when a possible workaround/fix might be available? I should just keep paying for something I can no longer use Eh? Oh! I see PI is a priority but getting your paying public back online and might get fixed is not? just delete and rename my settings file see if it helps well damn it it doesn't. You just lost me as I will take my money elsewhere, As customer service goes this has been pathetic.
The settings folder is typically (on Vista/Win7) located in c:\users\[yourname]\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_tranquility The reason I think that might solve your problem is that it will set all graphics settings back to default, there may somehow be something in your settings that is now preventing your client from starting up.
Kudos for keeping cool. :)
@Sol Epoch, and anyone else who feels disatisfied with CCP's customer service atm.
Take a moment to consider that they are reading these threads, have noticed issues, and take the time to address them Not only that, but have repeatedly request details on one issue, and tried to help the customer resolve it. That's pretty good customer service.
The Anti-aliasing issue was pointed out in the other thread, and is listed in the first post. Clearing cache has been recommended for people with login issues there as well.
Check both threads, particularly the issues and workarounds thread before flying off the handle. Better yet, don't fly off the handle, get stressed out, or decide CCP are a bunch of dumb clucks, just because you can't get your PC to log into EVE.
If everybody was left twiddling their thumbs, after the patch, with no way to log in or play, I'd say you have grounds for issue. The truth however, is quite the opposite as most people are not really having issues at this time and can log in and play just fine.
Exceptions which are most likely server side, based on consistency of errors: PI Survey and Extraction, and POS locations around moons or new location for warp to 0 on moons. Possibly something with the old bookmarks people have stored from pre-patch. Can't confirm this myself, as new bookmarks seem to work just fine.
So.. not too bad overall, though it's a shame many people rely on PI for POS fuel. Particularly those people in Wormholes.
The CarbonUI and current patch preceding Incarna is a massive modification to EVE, and changes a great many things about the basic interface we use to play the game. That interface is extremely important to EVE gameplay in fact, and most everyu aspect of the game appears to rely on it, and it has been completely altered. Overall, I'd say everything is going well, and Incarna should release with a minimum of issues.
Take into account that this pre-release may help identify specific issues with the new framework, (while it is seperated from Incarna), on TQ prior to releasing content which is dependent on it and you might think it is a smart move.
My advice.. just chill and wait a few days. There is nothing here which should prevent you playing the game and enjoying it. Just a few things that have to be ironed out and cleared up before the release of the new content. Plenty of work involved in that process too I'm sure.

With the greatest respect, you havent a clue what you are talking about.
My PI is currently borked. My market is unusable. I get random crashes. These are NOT just cosmetic bugs which like the capacitor colour change, are a PITA. These are game mechanics which prevent me (and others) from playing the game. Cant trade, cant do PI, cant do anything outside of station which might result in the loss of a ship etc to a CTD.
As far as im concerned, I refuse to pay for a product which i cannot use in any way shape or form. My accounts will be cancelled after todays DT if there isnt a patch today to address some of these issues.
For those who think its just me rage-quitting, nah im not in a rage, im just completely disappointed that a company like CCP, can talk the talk but fails miserably to walk the walk.

Thank you for your continued patience with regard to the Planetary Interaction issue. This critical problem is the number one priority in our list of fallout from the 1.6 deployment on Tuesday.
We have a fix in the pipeline that will be deployed during today's downtime, we strongly urge all players to download this update when prompted to avoid any further strangeness with Planetary Interaction.
