I have been searching for a Deimos for a week now. It's bloody impossible to find them. There were reports of one selling on escrow for 100m+. You have got to be kidding me. I even contacted Xetic tech and they claim that a waiting list for one is 1.5 months!!! I have just spent a month trainign skills for it and I cannot even bloody use one because they are so frakin rare. This just is not cool. CCP, drop more BPOs for these things so that people can actualy make them in more than 1 every 2 weeks. Better yet, give me one of them BPOs.

that's totally understandable. Deimos is the most powerful HAC out there, and unlike other t2 equipment, it takes a long time to manufacture. Even with 8 BPOs out, the supply would still be very tiny compared to demand. There's probably more than 1000 people wanting to buy one

Stupid sellers, they should just jack up the prices till there arent any q's to get one. Doesn't take a degree in economics really .. ^^

My best advice is to keep an eye on the market - I bought mine straight away on the market for 85m. But yes, the waiting list is massively long - mostly because it's a high-risk ship, so PvPs with cash to spend are buying backups, and PvEers are ordering them whilst they train the skills. Either way, if you can just afford to run one, it's a royal pain.
In the meantime, you can always try an Ishtar - they go for nearly half the price and are extremely effective.

BIG have stopped supplying HAC's as well.
presumably the lack of components is the root cause, as the supply from agents has markedly decreased, and the corps who manufacture components using POS seem to be struggling to pick up the demand.

I dont want it in the future. I want it now. I have jsut completed training for one, and it took a month. At this point the training I have done is worthless since I have no ship to use my skills towards. I dont want to have to sit on my ass for another 2 months waiting for my number to come up at the builder's.
And what happens when I lose one? Do I have to sit another 2 months waiting for a replacement?

If you look very close at the forums/escrow/market you will find one eventually. I found one for auction for 85m nice price for no waiting list

Well, you could have checked the market while training for the ship - you can buy one even if you don't have the skills yet. Or even before starting the training.
I trained for Minmatar HAS, and ordered from BIG when I had a week of training left. I bought both Muninn and Vagabond from the open market, though, as it was much faster.
Still, you can't blame others if you spend a month training and only after that check the availability.

HAc came out with Exodus. This was before christmas. Obviously at first, when the new modules come out the availability is slim. But as time goes on, the supply increases. This has not happened with the deimos and most other HAC. It has been 2 months, and I would like to know how many of these are available.
You can find a tonn of other tech II stuff on the market. There are a ridiculous amount of dmg mods, tracking computers, small guns, medium guns, even large guns. There are a tonn of ceptors. Where are the HAC?

While HAC avaliability may be thin . . . I think that is the way it is suppose to be. It is an Elite Ship . . . a rare find. If CCP intended everyone to fly it then HACs would be sold by NPC corps and also be easy to train for.
This game has a SOCIAL dimension which involves networking and talking to people. Finding a HAC supplier is easy if you know the right people. I got my Deimos from a hard to find (and anonymous) supplier a few days after placing my order.
If you expand your social contacts, you will find it easier to get almost anything out there.

I produce another HAC. It takes over 1000 units of T2 components to build the damned thing.
POS's were supposed to pickup and produce more T2 components, I havent seen that happening due to the rediculous requirements to run them. Serious coordination, time and effort is required just to run them, then you have to find someone to trade materials with to make some materials that can be made into components. This all takes alot of time and resources...
I put my print in a research slot to increase the ME to drop some of those T2 components, it takes close to 1 month to get it to ME4. It further takes 1.5 days to make 1 ship.
Is this a complaint - no, because it pushes prices up on these ships and rightfully so. Producers should make huge isk if the demand is there for them. And for those who dont want to pay, well sit and wait, prices may eventually come down (or put your name on one of the producers waiting lists to save a few million isk). 100 mill is not unreasonable to ask on a Deimos if the demand is there - clearly it is.
If producers have the print sitting idle, perhaps they should offer BYOM deals!

It's good that there are so many people clamouring for, but unable to get their hands on, HACs. Preserves the exclusivity, unlike BSs which used to be cool to have, but now are not cool to have. Supremacy Keepin it Real |

I love my Cerberus, but its not the greatest for PVP.
Anyhow, on to what I was going to say. 1.) Supply and Demand dictate the price rightfully on HACs. 2.) Supply of T2 components has decreased But why? -Decrease - Agents give less of them -Increase - POS were designed to create them -Decrease - The places where youd be most likely to find POSs are busy with other things, mainly wars. I am sure the North will start to produce T2 components soon, as far North is fairly quiet. It takes a concerted effort to keep it going. My friend had to take his down when the war with ATUK/BoB/Shinra/Imperium/etc in Fountain started, and I am sure Fountain would have more running if it werent for the war. This is the case in other regions as well.
So, in actuality, it isnt the lack of BPOs that causes the high price/rarity of the Deimos.
You should be really good in a Thorax now though :D ------------------------------------------------

True to the Assault Sub-Class of ships, the Diemos can annihilate ships above its class (BSs). Its price should be on the same level as at least a tier 1 BS. Assault Frigs can OMFGPWN cruisers and some BSs . . . and their prices are slightly between the range of a Cruiser and a Battle Cruiser. HACs have a similar price range falling between the Tier 1 and Tier 2 BSs.

Wow, that was really constructive criticism . . . I commed you on your ability to support your opinions on HAC prices with well thought out and articulated arguments.

No, don't drop more BPO's.
Instead, boost the Vagabond/Muninn/Cerberus/Eagle to the usefulness of the Gallente and Caldari ones, then people will buy them more instead.
Ishtar actually outdamages a Deimos (without mag stabs) you know, and can tank alot better, that ship is crazy.

with best skills and no damage mods:
Deimos with 5x Ion blaster tech 2 dmg: 3.375*1.25*1.25*1.25*1.15*1.12 = 8.490234375 rof: 4.5*0.9*0.8 = 3.24 dps: 2.62*24*5 = 314.45
Ishtar with 15 heavies: dmg: 15 *22*1.6*1.25 = 660 rof: 2 dps: 330
But then, Deimos can carry 4 heavies and Ishtar can have 3 guns with 5% dmg bonus

Well, it's all been said before but here's my opinion:
1) HAC's should be very rare because they are ELITE. 2) Why on earth do you plan your skill training at least one month in advance, and then don't bother to check for the ship? Surely anybody noticed the huge waiting queu on a Deimos or other HACs. Pretty stupid not to order one a month or more ago. I ordered my ships (both Ishtar and Deimos) about 3 weeks ago. I have the Ishtar for more than a week and the Deimos since last week. 3) Waiting list for an Ishtar is much shorter (thank you naga), get one, you'll love it! 4) Since I have both ships, I've flown about 90% of the time in my Ishtar, not my Deimos . It's truly awesome.
Yesterday, I took out a hauler spawn with just my Ishtar and 10 heavy drones (I lost 4 drones very early in the chaos ). I think it was the coolest thing I ever did ... There were 2 BS, 2 haulers and 5 cruisers. I tanked them in my Ishtar, killed the cruisers first (nasty buggers did kill some drones but I had to get em out fast). Then I killed the haulers, while tanking 2 BS for another 5 minutes. Then it was time for the 2 BS, and then another 4 cruisers that had respawned, and then another BS that respawned ... I don't think I would've made it in my Deimos I can tell you that...
Ishtar for the win :-)
Cheers, Thimerion
