Well, the Alliance tourny isn't gonna be much fun if this is now a daily occurrence.
I also get the impression that Lulz guy doing the tweeting is a butthurt botter who got perma-banned
CCP I hope your doing all you can to help find this idiot!!!

It will be over once they realize they're doing nothing but putting themselves into danger of getting caught. I think this has been going on for so long just because most of them are too young to see that they aren't actually anonymous at all. Imho, they're youngbloods who just discovered all those little programs floating around the net and think they're "1337 h4(kz0rz", kind of like we all were when we were 20-30 years younger.
Wrong. You're lacking knowledge.
They won't get caught that easily, else they'd be in arrest already.
These are no script-kiddies.
They proclaimed themselves as a hard core of 4chan from "a hundred years ago" (2005 i believe). That's ... not so funny, tbh.

Yes, please, let's tell everyone exactly what measures are being taken to prevent attacks. No one would be so mean to use that against you!

some players got an email that mentions the DDoS attack and prompts you to log into a fake account page. Probably just a crime of oportunity as several players report getting it in email accounts not linked to eve

They've only been going since May, I'll give them til early July before they're over with.

I'm not any authority on the subject, but since a thread asking about how a DDOS effects participants is locked and somehow only related to this specific incident, feel free to reference the above link for generic information.
As always, make sure: - Your computer is fully up-to-date - You have a reputable antivirus - Uninstall junk programs - Uninstall those "helpful" toolbars for your browser. Yes, even the reputable ones. - Be wise about what websites you visit - If your computer is acting weird, feel free to ask a friend/workmate/trusted person to have a look.

Yeah, ironically not only will their actions eventually get various governments after then but it's also likely to result in all sorts of draconian new laws and regulations on the net. |

I've known 4chan for a while. 99% of this board's users are freaking idiots (it's always been like that) and the last 1% won't even bother with that kind of bad attempt at "hacking".

No. If it was that easy, most of Anonymous would have been caught already.
DDoS = Distributes Denial of Service.
That's thousands of computers sending a signal to disrupt a service and there's NO way to tell which of them was the trigger.
I agree, though, that the more they do, the more the odds are against them.
But that doesn't say the odds aren't high for them anyway, which means it takes a lot of time until they get caught.

Yes, because if CCP is implementing a secret plan to counter the attacks, the first thing they are going to do is post their plan on the forums.

Ya'll just do what ya gotta do to thwart these attacks. I get about 90 hours a month for my $14.95 which works out to like 16 cents an hour. So if I miss out on my time I think I can afford that. I probably play more than that so the figure is possibly even lower. Anyway, you guys deal with the attacks, I'll work on some spreadsheets. ________________________________________________

No, but at some point you used that email address on an EVE related site and they were either compromised or sold it.
Phishing mails happen all the time, directed at the customers of any online service. Be sensible. If the emails says "click this link and enter your account details" for any reason, it's a phishing attempt.
Stop being paranoid.

I agree sue the ****ing bastards for lost revenue.
Right now tho CCP is doing the right thing, taking everything offline will just give LulzSec what they want.
How ever I do expect some form of compensation from CCP when all this is over and done with
Why? What did CCP do wrong? I expect/demand nothing additional from them because of criminal activity by others

Yeah, I'd like to know all the info I need to access CCP bank account please.
Please use the brains, why would CCP tell anyone what countermeasures they are putting into place? That would be like asking them "Please tell us exactly how you catch people using bots (so we know what we need to change so we aren't caught!)
