Oof.
You guys really need to hire a UI usability expert - you hired economists for the Eve economy, how about some love for the people who actually have to try and use this interface?
1) 1st/3rd person games have existed for decades, it's ok to jump on the bandwagon and mimic their movement and camera usage. People expect a certain feel these days. Also, why does the mouse-scroll zoom opposite in CQ vs in space? Scrolling back zooms out in one, it zooms in closer in the other (at least I think it did - it was early and I was low on coffee this morning)
2) The old hangar and ship windows and stuff clutter the CQ view, and keep stealing focus, making everything hard to use. Simply overlaying what we've always had over the CQ interface was a lazy way to go and breaks the immersion.
3) Speaking of breaking the immersion - when we're in CQ, why are we still technically in a ship when it comes to clone jumping?
4) The little hologram of what ship is active is nifty, but if I'm not looking at my coffee table, how am I supposed to see what ship is active? And why can't I drag-drop a ship to the interface anymore to make it active? More clunky interface melding residue.
5) Aurum - Or-NOT-um! Those prices are a great scam - very EVE-like there! :)
6) I gotta agree with majority opinions here - keep the old in-ship and in-hangar interface and give a "Exit my pod" button to jump cleanly and COMPLETELY into CQ - leaving behind the regular Eve windows and interface. You can't have 2 interfaces.
7) Turrets - I'm hoping some rhyme or reason will appear eventually, but so far I just see a lot of new models that I have to learn. I can sorta tell each type apart, but the instant ability to tell if its a S/M/L gun, and long or short range - meh, that's been lost for the moment. The animations are pretty though :)
8) I actually have an alt that flies a Maller - nice model. Wants Moar.
9) The agent finder looked like it could be useful - same with corp finder. I'm not in the market for either so I didn't explore too far, sorry.
10) My wife's laptop won't even load CQ (Dell M70, nVidia quadro FX go1400), even on lowest settings - thanks for the headaches. Now I gotta go update drivers and try to optimize everything again. I'll probably end up buying a new machine soon though. I used to dual-box on that laptop 18 months ago... Le sigh.
Please to be fixing it CCP? I really wanted to like this patch, but beyond the cool login screen, I don't yet. ___________________________________

Originally by: Fark This is very disappointing, everyone in a player chat room i'm in has turned CQ off, and what is worse you get a picture of an airlock. Just give back the hanger view, this appears to be the most pointless update i have ever seen. Why would i want to look at my avatar? We had the pictures for that.
Well it sure was kinda pointless. And it remains pointless if only thing we can do is play one game in a bar and drink virtual beer. They should release the station enviroment with infiltration or what ever FPS style missions.
When i first logged in to the Captains Quarters I wanted to go and do stuff. But naturally there was nothing to be done. And if the walk in stations is just that A feature of walking.. it's even more pointlesss use of resources. we need to be able to do stuff in the stations.

Ships and hanger are out of scale. A battleship should be bigger than a canal barge. Maller was fine looking ship, now looks like something 40k orks cobbled together out of scrap. When I board ship from orca bay, the ship I was in would go in bay, now it floats in space. Mining laser were awesome, now there just meh. Noble exchange is a joke, April 1st was 2 months ago. WE NEED LESS CQ(captains quarters) AND MORE QC quality control. And for gawds sake put some money in the meter and turn the bloody lights on

^^ THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS.. WHY MAKE PEOPLE MAD CCP? Where the spinning hanger that we used to pass so much time in?
Ship proportions are terrible for the smaller ships. Whats the point..
The turrets are awesome though.

Quite honestly, I'm impressed.
Sure there isn't a large amount to this patch, but I like what little is there. I've been playing EVE almost since the beginning... the turrets really needed an upgrade and - heck - maybe the changes to the turrets is going to pave the way for SHIPS changing into "combat configuration"... like when X-Wings go into combat mode... they were going to do that with ships at one point...
Anyways, it may be devoid of too many features right now, but it paves the way. Hope to see more extensions to the WiS stuff soon, otherwise it really will feel pointless. I think I can be satisfied with the "Oh shiny!!" aspect for a little while. If they implement things like Corporation common areas and ****, I can see that having some potential... otherwise... for shame...
Also, neat touch seeing the pot all opened up and awaiting the pilot. I like.
CPU utilization of the client has VASTLY improved.
The clothes, though... really? What are you guys smoking? It must be something from my stash... shame on you for stealing!!!

So, 6 months of development time and what did we get with Incarna - let's see:
- Captain's Quarters - A tech demo for the new WoD MMO. The animations are lackluster, there are strange graphical bugs (what's with the shadows on my character's face?), the controls are abysmal, and it takes a non-trivial amount of time to load. It adds no functionality that isn't easier to do using the old menus. Only minmatar version is available (heh, like we'll ever see the other races)
- Noble Store - $60 monocles. 'nuff said.
- Jump Bridge Nerf - Oh good, another kick in the balls for the average 0.0 player. With risk/reward already so out of whack with safe empire alternatives, making life more miserable for the guy trying to earn enough to pay for his PVP ships is certainly the best way to make 0.0 more dynamic. This change wouldn't have been terrible as part of an overhaul of 0.0, but in isolation it's just adding insult to injury after the sanctum nerf.
- New turrets - I'm willing to accept that the dudes who do the graphics are a different design team than the ones implementing game design changes. Cosmetic changes are nice, I guess.
- Cormorant lights blink - Woo!
- New maller - I guess it looks kinda nice - can't say I've ever flown one before.
6 months of development time for all of this. Not a single fix to make Gallente suck less (in fact, drone boats took a decent sized nerf in PVE!). Not a single adjustment to supercapitals. Not a single change to make holding space worthwhile. Not a single fix for the technetium bottleneck.
What the hell were you guys thinking?

feedback about "insana 1.0" - failed!
the game runs jerky. lags every time (in missions, while mining, or trading, and it has extrem long loading times when docking at a station, or starting the hole game.
captians housing looks great - BUT it takes to much time to load and it is absolutly useless! who needs that? and not every gamer has a high-end-pc that can handle this cpu/gpu overload!
the new turret effects are bugged and displaced. for example the cyclone bc, or armageddon bs. and this new gun thingis costs cpu/gpu/server work too?!
CCP, PLEASE MAKE A OPTION TO SWITCH BACK TO THE OLD STATION ENVIROMENT, AND/OR TO THE OLD TURRET FX!!! big thx.
some new bugs/features: - light warrior t2 drones now sounds like the 425mm ac. - to be logged into the game and logging in the eve-side or forum,at the same time is no more possible
greetings, (still want a roll-back to rmr :)

- Turrets look nice on the ships, sometimes look quite small on bigger ships though.
- The turret icon next to the target tile lacks defination and looks blob like.
- The CQ are quite hard on my graphics card even on the lowest settings, to put into perspective I use about 50% GPU when in space with all settings on high bar anti-aliasing and shadow quality which are disabled. In CQ even on the lowest settings my GPU usgae is sitting above 90%. I'm using an NVIDIA GeForce GTS 240 and have the game in windowed mode at a resolution of 2048x1090 on a dual monitor set-up. I had hoped performance might be comparable with that of in space.
- Walking around in the CQ is a little slow, a run function would be nice. Also I personally would find it nice to start sat on the chair since the only thing that really interests me at the moment is the screens and it's slow to walk to them when first docking.
- Even on the highest setting the lighting on my avatars face looks a little odd, getting harsh edges around lips and eyelids. Was looking at his face when sat down.
- New Maller looks nice, to be honest quite liked the smooth curves of the old one but new one looks smart too, looks meaner . Don't know whether I need to clear my cache but I currently get the icon showing up as the old Maller design.
- Was left shocked at the prices in the Noble Exchange, I expect the transactions to be a little more micro rather than more expensive than their real world counterparts. I think the fact PLEX were being divided into 3,500 AURUM left me and perhaps other feeling that those divisions were indicative of the granularity required for the small payment items would go for. With the current cost you may as well have just broke up PLEX into 100 AURUM and reduced prices. I think smaller price points would have made the items accessible to a greater number of people and probably made you more money rather than just catering for a wealthy few, kinda like Ferrari vs Ford where Ferrari may be a more exclusive produce but Ford makes more money.
- New agent finder is a great addition, would be nice if it would react to being resized by adding more rows/columns so more agents were visible at once where there was room to display them.

I laugh at everyone who rages because they can't spin around their ship anymore. That's ridiculously irrelevant and only reveals the real whiner who will rage about ANY change. If you're that bored, just play with your balls. Hint: You can still rotate around your ships in space.
That being said, Incarna won't make sense to me until I can DO stuff in 3D, like missions and PvP. And when that happens, it will have nothing to do with EVE as we know it, it will be like a separate game added to the one that exists now. Which doesn't have to be a bad thing. Anyways, that day is probably still very far away.

After playing this game for nigh on 8 years I have to sign up with the vast majority that are hammering Incarna.
Downloaded patch logged in took 1 look logged off. Logged back on then turned station enviroments off in the menu. Wont be putting it back on again either. As nice and shiney as it is it's completly pointless. Spaceships is the game we want to play not walking around in a station.
Please do us all a favour and patch in the spinning ships when u have station enviroment turned off. You'll make quite a few people happy with that, because looking at that damm airlock door is dismal.
I've never been a fan of all the stuff CCP have done to the game in years gone by but you just suck it up and get on with it. I'm not throwing my teddy out the pram like others doing the same old "cancel your sub shouts" you wanna do that leave me your stuff before you go. I know there's more to come on this but its really going to have to be out of this world to get any interest from myself.
one of the channels i sit in has 7 players in it about 20 accounts nobody likes Incarna and everyone's turned if off. So far i'm finding more peeps with it off than on.
Your vanity prices are insane totally off the mark too. The word Greedy is getting banded about lots at mo.
This is a really terrible upgrade CCP hard work went into this but its just not what people want.
Again patch back in spinning ships please.

Overall I'm pretty impressed.
But there's one graphical thing I'm not happy about: I hoped to be able to retract the turrets by pressing a button. Seeing them retract only when I warp or put them offline is disappointing.

I know a guy who is quitting eve over this who posted on this thread so id like to say that there are many casual players that don't do the forum thing that like much of this expansion. If the aurum store doesn't have anything that is like the old minmatar robot suit kryten was born with it doesn't concern me.. but I welcome the isk sink for that incusion free isk.
I am just relieved that I still have a game to playthat is not totally broken after this large patch. Congratz on that. Maybe I'm happy and he is not because my expectations were so low and his sohigh.
I wil post issues on issues thread and I am glad you didn't leave minig lazers turrets out of expansion...but I am wondering why I am mining rocks... with... other rocks.

You know, I really do like the idea of this, but there are some serious problems. A lot of this has already been said.
It needs to be optional, and there is no reason to get rid of spinning ships. I will use my CA but only when I want to.
You need to fix the crushing heat problems in the hardware. I have no idea why the game is causing so much CPU and GPU strain, but that's unacceptable. I damn near lost my graphics card last night.
Vanity items prices. Are you ******ed?
Do not lose sight of the fact that you're an internet spaceship game maker. I appreciate what you're trying to do with the whole eve universe and whatnot, but really your focus needs to be on spaceships. ---

Explanation is easy: immersion. Having two completely different ship hangars is breaking immersion immensely. --

Here's some feedback for ya ccp. If this has been mentioned already, forgive me, I didn't feel like reading through 19 pages of comments :P I don't know about the rest of you, but the character creator and captain's quarters both have <5fps on high settings. It's manageable on low settings, but still, captain's quarters is the source of all my current troubles with EVE. So here is my suggestion:
The following two things would make my personal EVE experience infinitely better:
1. The option to use the old station setting (no captain's quarters). Or! Even better, have the option of zooming out of captains quarters to the old station setting (i.e.: ship hangar), where you can see yourself on the docking bay next to your ship! (Like the first reply in the thread) And make sure (!) there is a way for us to preset it so you can either dock in the captain's quarters or the ship hangar. Hope that makes sense.
2. The ability to control the graphics settings of the captain's quarters and space separately (i.e.: allow us to have low settings in captain's quarters and high settings out in space). My computer runs fine on high settings when I'm in space, all my problems are associated with the Captain's Quarters. In light of suggestion 1., you might even have Captain's Quarters settings and Space/Ship Hangar settings.

I beg to differ. I find it immersion-breaking to be forced out of pod on docking. Old hangar + exit pod button -> CQ would fit better with the backstory, IMHO.

Please, CCP, do NOT 'fix the crushing heat problems in the hardware.' People with crappy hardware should just lower their graphical settings. Period.
As for myself, my GTX 580 runs at a cool 42C, with everything maxed out at 1920x1200; and my i7 980X hovers around 10-15% CPU load. So all is well. I *love* the new shiny CQ look, and I'd don't like to see it nerfed again, pretty please. --

Unscannable ships, **** implementation from your side. Have nothing against being able to be scanned down, but you should seriously have fixed the way scanning works before implementing this adjustment. Fighting at range is no longer a viable tactic, as you will be scanned down in 5 seconds.

I Noticed today that I accidentally target objects when I press ctrl+space to stop the ship or look at things when activating my MWD with alt+F1.
I'm quite sure this was not the case before. Is it just me? Maybe I lost one +int implant
So i disabled those keys, maybe i should remap them to something else.
