Would happily leave it on if it wasn't so poorly optimised and caused my gaming pc's temperatures to skyrocket. No other game performs that poorly, especially not for just a small single room with one person moving around

Turn it off, but even that didn't give me back the hangar view. Very disappointed :(

Tried to sit on couch, didn't work. Next tried to lay on bed, no option. looked for my exotic dancers and a stripper pole....no door to hangar, no pole. Looked at my BS, looks much smaller then I expected. Watched info about incursions. Turned it off when I realized it took me an hour to do that. Logged into SL on my 10 year old computer that won't even bring up Eve. Sat on couch with no problem. Streaked through a pg area when no one was looking with minimum amount of lag. Wondered what the hell is wrong with CCP that they can't even make a basic room work.

Edited by: Kyria Stenory on 23/06/2011 11:25:30 I wish I can go back to my simple "ship screen", where double clic on it opened cargo etc...
It's beautiful, but too much wasted time for just trading/industry and missions.. i'd rather make my trade in space now, and just dock to get the items to move them wherever I need to..
I'm not playing eve to stare at my character, but to fly in my ships ><

I didn't turn it off, I think it's actually very nice, and it shows that the technology is there, and solid, and ready to be expanded upon once we can explore stations, and gain access to a limitless array of new features that could be in the pipeline.
I'm imagining proper interaction with your agents in the future, Mass Effect style? and some great scenario's for putting your ISK on the line with gambling and mini games between players. Proper face to face trading, and the ability to open ones own custom clothes stores in the future would also be really cool!
Now with Incarna, EVE feels 'Massive' once again, when you look at your battleship hovering in the hangar, immense in it's size - this evokes the same feelings of scale and enormity that I felt 8 years ago when I first started playing EVE, and I personally can't wait to see where CCP take it next.
I think all you morons saying 'turn it off' should just grow up a bit, and see the potential of incarna, rather than the deliberately restrained version of it that we see now. Putting the technology in EVE was a HUGE step, and while it doesn't appear much just now, the foundations seem to be well and truly in place for great things... and besides - there's not another MMO out there that has graphics anywhere near as good and as adult as these.
Good work CCP, I can't wait for more.

Unlike the OP I actually did take a look at the CQ. However, after 2 minutes I decided to:

I'm sorry, but putting in technology that strains purpose built machines where games such as Crysis function easily on them in comparison isn't something I would call a 'good' thing. When you change the footprint of a game as drastically as CCP did, and the end result is worse than what you had before by a factor of 3-5.
I was looking forward to Incarna. The idea interests me a lot. The implementation, poorly optimized code and the sheer audacity CCP has with that MT crap they are trying to pull...
It will be a cold day in the hottest part of the deepest, darkest, most terrifying room of hell before CCP see's any more of my RL isk. This expansion.. is one of the worst (not THE worst, but running a close second to SWG) failures in implementation I have ever seen since i've been around in the gaming world (Beta tested Everquest, so that is a LONG time).
Fly safe. Enjoy your game. I'll be playing World of Tanks while you do that. I'm finding it more enjoyable than EVE right now so... o/ -

Originally by: Ana Vyr I don't really see what the problem is for folks. Granted, my system is only a year old or so. I did notice the fan running pretty hard after a while, but no worse than SC2.
For me and many others, our system specs are irrelevant. We simply don't want it every time we dock.
This.
Have all the f***ing fun in the world walking around in the stations, by all means. I've nothing at all against Incarna and beleive it to be a step in the right direction development wise.
Do not however force me to have to join you.
I've managed to play this game for five years without the burning desire to get out of my pod every time I want to use a station service, I'm fairly certain I'll manage to avoid the desire in the future.
MAKE IT PERMANENTLY OPTIONAL!

Just for the record. I am reading all over the place how CQ is slow and how it melts GPUs. Yet on my PC which I built 1,5 year ago I am running CQ in 1980x1050 with almost all settings on high (I just use AAx2 becouse I dont notice the difference with x4 and up) the framerate is smooth. Also I checked my GPU temperature and after 5 minutes of CQ it raised barely above 60 degrees. I can notice the fan works a bit faster when compared to space sim but it's hardly anything tragic.
Not trying to flex how good PC I have. Frankly I am already a bit behind after what you would call an uber rig now. What kind of PC-s you are trying to run this on exactly?
Not anything to do with Incarna quality. I like the idea of this expansion but I agree that 1.0 content is pathetic in terms of added amount.
And on topic. I started to walk around the couch. A new form of ship spinning
