This goes out to everyone whining about their video cards not being compatible with incarna. The fix is easy get a better video card! I am making $10 an hr working part time in a grocery store while going to school, and it would take less then one pay check to buy a new video card like the GTX 560 (around $200), which will handle most games out their at max gfx now and well into the future. If your not working then get your fat nerdy ass out and find a job, or stop *****ing about your crap video card being unable to run incarna.
If you find your current card over hearing inable V-sync (vertical Sync) to cap the FPS at 60.
Now there isent that an easy fix?

Dude, you missed the point totally. Many people with top of the line graphic cards are having extreme heating issues, not just people with outdated cards. Even with vsync adjusted the way you proclaim it should be adjusted.
And besides, no one really cares about you working in a grocery store, or that you're going to school. And by the looks of things, you need to find a better school, or at least a better spelling teacher.

A GTX 260 4gb machine with DUAL CORE CPUs cannot play Incarna but it can play Crysis?
That's fine?

Confirming that Crysis 2 gets better FPS compared to the EVE CQ environment at maxed-out graphics settings for both. How exactly would you "cap the FPS at 60" (to reduce heat) when you barely GET 60 FPS to begin with ?!? And what if vsynch on caps FPS at 120 or 85 instead of 60, because your monitor can handle more than 60Hz ?
Welcome to some time ago - what to do so CQ isn't universally hated. CQ is sort of nice, I guess. But lack of options, mandatory nature = INSTAHATE You guys never listen early enough nor make noise strong enough when it matters. Guess what, even the "(do not) load station environment" is supposed to be TEMPORARY only.
Quick recap, in case CCP insists on keeping CQ the default environment : * MANDATORY - separate the CQ from the non-CQ graphics detail settings into two completely separate groups which you can set differently * MANDATORY - keep the ESC menu option to not load any environment at all * STRONGLY PREFERRED - add some even lower graphics detail levels for CQ * OPTIONAL BUT HIGHLY DESIRABLE - do not delete the current hangar environments AND make them an alternative (default disabled) via the ESC menu _

i wish i was at school with a part time job where i can spend all i earn on new stuff.. get a grip. your barely in the real world. not everyone can spend their hard earned cash on upgrades just because ccp or some kid says so. besides as people have stated. alot of us have fairly decent setups but when it comes to cq we might aswell be running eve on a commadore 64

Maybe some of us don't want to shell out $200 for a new graphics card when the existing one runs perfectly fine everything but CQ? Even high-end graphics cards are experiencing heating issues, and virtually no system in existence can run multiple instances of CQ without any sort of trouble at decent visual settings. I'm on a laptop which runs everything I want it to run, including the actual EVE game [you know, the one with spaceships?] at good graphics settings, without any heating issues or FPS drops. A desktop wasn't and isn't an option, and in any case, why should I buy an entirely new machine just to spin an avatar in a motel room until CCP puts real gameplay into CQ at some point over the next few years?

Yeah, because people working for $10 an hour don't have any other expenses (like, say, food, or rent, or utilities, or gas) and can go right ahead and blow half their paycheck on a top-of-the-line graphics card to play a nine-year-old game. Just because you live in your parents' basement doesn't mean the rest of us do.
If this was a different forum, I'd ask you to check your privilege and consider that, to a great many people, $200 is not chump change. But this is EVE, so I'll just call you a douchebag.

Laptop...
Also, I make more than that but I have other expenses to pay jackass, like food, and rent, and student loans. After that I hardly want to take cash out of my budget to put into a video card all because CCP screwed up and ****ed me, their customer off.
I'm seriously re-evaluating if I want to keep playing Eve Online. No you can't have my stuff =)

So you make $1.600 before tax, health insurance, aso. (10*8*5*4=1.600)
In Germany this would leave you with about $1.100 before, water, power, rent, food, phone, net, aso.
After that you would be probably looking at much less than $500.
How you use that cash is of course up to you.
But spending more than 1/3 of a months disposable income on a game, represents a dedication that can not and should not be expected.
You notice how I try to refrain from judgment right ?

I kinda feel like this entire update is an nVidia scam to make us buy new hardware
The thread author is pompous & arrogant. I'm running completely modern hardware (quad-core i7 w/ hyperthreading, Raedon 6870). As others have said, that lineup can play Crysis and Crysis 2 with everything maxed, no problems.
You cannot sit there and tell me the effects are more demanding than Crysis. The station environment is good, but let's be honest, not THAT good. Yet I'm getting terribad performance in-station unless I kill all my settings.
I actually made a suggestion thread with a solution about this: http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1534051 |

You're ignorant. Some of us have to pay the bills, rents, clothing, food, you call it. I don't have 200 a month leftover. And all the money I keep leftover is going into a saving for the kids, like the normal people do.

Nice new GTX 580 on a top flight gaming rig here and I can confirm that CQ thrashes the card fans when running more than one client. Given that prior to incarna I could run 4 clients + world of tanks in windowed mode without the thing breaking sweat I think this is hardly a "whine" about performance. CQ seems to be very poorly optimized and to make matters far worse CCP opted to remove functionality from the game for anyone wanting to turn off CQ - it is very poor that the flat graphic screen is less functional than the old hanger view.

One problem with that 560(Ti). Although it's a pretty beefy piece of technology for it's price it won't run stuff all that nice. Still runs choppy and the framerate is not really that god (and not even nearly stable).
Although I heard from a friend of mine he can run everything on max details with an 48xx radeon card (two generations older). Guess there needs to be done some serious fixing on the matter. ----------------------------- OMG THE SKY IS FALLING! Contract me all your stuff so I can save it! |

Im running two 6950's in crossfire across 3 screens currently.
Before the CQ environment I would average aroung 220 FPS, im in the station environment right now, and im getting 39 fps with the same settings as before.
there is something wrong in how they programmed the new shaders. I play crysis 2 and i get 115 on max settings on that. and there is much more going on then a few TV screens and a character on a catwalk.

A majority of the video card heat issues are due to poor case airflow or dust accumulation. A little spring cleaning to get the dustbunnies out of the case, and/or cracking the case open for better airflow can go a long way.
Overall, I don't think CQ is overly demanding for a modern game. Crysis was released in 2007, which makes it a relic in terms of computer hardware progression.

You pay rent, bills, buy food and clothes and all the other stuff on $10/hr working part-time and still have enough left over to buy a brand new $200 GFX card for one game that is currently broken? That's amazing!! Where do you live? I want to live there too!

Well the point is not the money... the point is i don't see why i should go out and buy a new graphic card just to play a game that was runing fine one day ago and that hasn't improoved a bit (well the new agent finder is cool) everything is the same exept some ugly turrets and tracktor design, ahh yes, also the pointless CQ!!!!!.
