I like CQ. I don't like the AURUM shop but hey, I don't have to buy anything from it. I like the tech that CQ will act as a gateway into. I like that this is getting rid of a bunch of old, whiny, bittervet players who feel they are superior to everyone and everything and clearly do not understand what a business does to make way for a fresh batch of new subscribers (5 of my friends say they will be checking out EVE and subbing once Incarna is further developed). I like CCP for what they're doing and look forward to many many more years of subbing.
To everyone else leaving and raging and thinking your little canceling fit and "demanding" CCP to abandon these changes when YOU ALL ragged on them in the first place to bring it out, don't even give me your stuff, please just leave.
To everyone else staying, here's to another 8 years of win.

Raging about AURUM makes no sense - are they mad because its there or mad because they can't afford it? No one makes them use it and it is a new feature, not something that was there before so they have no precedent for their rage, at all.
Love the new tech and the possibilities it brings

You fail at reading. We're ****ed because you can turn money into battleships and ammo, sidestepping the player economy. We're ****ed because you can buy special ammo, faction standings, and who the **** knows what else now.

You realize you are describing the majority of this community, right? The ones that carried the CCP banner for a very, very long time precisely because CCP realized this.
The new CCP never learned this, not until now.... buy hey, education is costly. How costly will be determined by how quickly the new CCP learns this.

I'm resubbing, but just to see where things are headed. The moment I see a MT that gives an in-game advantage, I'm out. And that's that.

who paid the salaries of the devs and " experts " who wrought this? We all did.
What used up man hours and resources that could have gone to desperately needed fixes? This was part of it.
Does the vision of this implementation present a threat to the user base if allowed to grow into the monster we know it will? you bet your ass.

Just because you pay doesn't mean you're entitled to say where a company should and shouldn't go. There's more people to please then a few whiny bittervets who don't like the dev team catering to their every whim. Incarna is a huge step in the right direction. It's rough around the edges, sure. But this is the biggest step to making EVE the best all encompassing one world Sci-Fi game on the market.
Hell, they even said it was impossible to be looking at our ships IN THE FIRST PLACE while docked initially, and people *****ed and whined about it. Now, it's finally here, and you sods can't run it? Why should CCP assume you all have crap rigs when you're asking for all this? They answer your rage and this is what happens? Give me a break.
Incarna is good, it'll get better, and if you're not patient enough to see it through just get out, never come back. We don't need you here.
Here's looking to a new era and new subscriptions :)

Been playing since '04. Eve constantly gets better, in spite of the community.
Incarna will make Eve an even better game, everything else is the same it was three days ago - improving.
Lag has improved consistently over the last 3 years.
Truth is, the "bitter vets" are just worried about the game they love, so let them rant about stuff that doesn't exist like they have some sort of premonition about game development. They serve a purpose, I'm sure.
Bottom line, quitting is like suicide - people who actually do it don't talk about it, because they don't care anymore. --

2008-05-10 23:57:00 is my birth date. That was the day I discovered 'Walking in Stations', as Incarna was called then.
I've waited a long time for this expansion and so far, I like the direction it's going.
Not only will I not quit. I've added two more accts onto the four I currently have. I look forward to living the golden era of EVE becoming what it was always meant to be. A true future simulator integrating all the different aspects of lesser games into one cohesive, single universe.
Cheers CCP and I look forward to many more years being a part of your empire.

I watched 5 years of BS come to this, Ive seen the last few years detach from core elements of game play to push more empty and unfinished content than ever. Up till now I have been pretty damn patient and I quite enjoy eve having been with it since early beta. personally I could give a damn about getting out of my ship and wish more power to those that do.
But when all that time and all those resources come out as this badly coded tech demo with a MT system thrown in that has implications to completely destabilize this game you're gonna hear from me and many others like me. Get used to it.

The "not cancelling" vote will show in the server status charts. I doubt we will see much of a dip (unless those who have ended up on the wrong side of karma in certain territorial disputes commit mass suicide because their lives have lost all meaning). I would not go so far as to call myself "impressed" by Incarna, yet - but it is at least a first step.
As for the cash shop, it does seem odd people who raged about there being a cash shop at all now rage that almost no one will pay billions for drab miniskirts and steam punk schlock.

There are things I don't like about this patch, like the lag and DCs I've experienced in Everyshore lowsec tonight that seem out of place. Also that peoples' pirate implants disappeared and how apparently damage mods stopped working properly for awhile. Also the terrible lighting in CQ which really should have been fixed long ago when it was still on Sisi. And I won't begrudge the players who spend most of their time in stations doing trades, since obviously the CQ lag makes that task far more tedious.
But as for the rest, like the lagginess of CQ as it relates to the average player and the ridiculous NEX prices... well, NEX is something I'd never use anyway, and CQ lagginess shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. First of all if you're a long-term Eve subscriber and you've never been to the Test Server when major new features are rolled out then isn't that the bigger problem than you're being surprised by something everyone else has known about for weeks or months before it hit TQ?
Anyway, for the most part the space game aspect of Eve is still functional at about 90% its normal level based on what I've been experiencing lately, and to be honest that's well within acceptable post-patch levels IMHO. The damage mod issue has apparently been fixed already, and I've heard that the pirate implants issue has been resolved for some people as well. If the space-game survives, Eve survives, no matter how bad the station game is.
fake edit: I have also just noticed that the text box on this forum isn't broken anymore. It used to stop scrolling down after a certain point even though I still had lots of characters available to type, and now it doesn't. I make POST

1. I'm not cancelling. In fact, I'm uncancelling from a hiatus. I'm paid till sometime in the middle of next year anyway, so it would hardly matter if I decided to quit now or not.
2. I *like* the fact that these vanity items are so expensive. It keeps everyone from getting them, which means they actually matter. It also drives up PLEX prices, which makes it harder for people to maintain armies of bots and alts. That makes me happy.
3. The new turrets are friggin' awesome. And people say this expansion offered nothing in space...either they haven't shot at anything or they use missiles (sorry, missiles ).
4. My machine shows no signs of meltdown. It runs CQ like a charm as long as I keep textures on medium, and is a 2007 discounted Best Buy display model.
5. Everyone should have known we weren't getting much with Captain's Quarters...CCP has made no secret of that. Personally, I think that they lost a huge opportunity by incrementalizing its release. They could have released a finished product to the world amidst a flurry of PR and marketing to generate a wave of fresh interest. Instead, first impressions are now lackluster and it will be old news by the time it is fully iterated on. BUT, overall sentiment among the vets seems to be that they don't want a massive influx of noobs...so they should be pleased about how this is going down.
6. I don't believe the leaked document that has everyone's panties in a wad is legit (though if it turns out to be, it changes everything). He said she said something about mysterious "sources" does not, in any way, lend legitimacy. Until we have more information, the jury is out on this one.

i do intend to continue playing. like a previous poster, this will continue until i get bored with the game or they introduce items that are only buyable with real money.
the thing that gets me most is that i can only run station enviros at minimal graphics at 19 or so FPS, while i can run space at 39-60 FPS with maxed graphics.

I think that PLEX price wont be affected much because current NeX items are so expensive and not many players will be getting them. Which is excellent.
I like that there are options for players who have far too much ISK to burn (I'm not one of them). There could even be some more expensive items available. But I do hope that CCP will in time add more affordable options, few at a time, so that there will not be single massive moment when everyone will rush to NeX and cause PLEX price to rise too much.
If this is CCP tactic, then I will support it fully. If there wont be any more affordable items later, then I can just ignore NeX. (Until I finally have far too much ISK to burn )

I cancelled my sub 3 months ago, have paid at least a month on an alts sub since then, and Plex'd another Alts sub, while paying yet another alt's sub for ~3 months, yet all but one odd alt is still cancelled, and I now have only 3 sub's of the original four. Which sub did I let go? Well, that would be the first sub of course.
But here I am with one monthly pay alt sub, a near empty sub that I may PLEX, and my main Sub which I don't pay or PLEX. How's that? Well, it's paid of course; till the end of November, more or less.
So what does all that nonsense mean? Well, it had nothing to do with CCP or CQ, that's what.

I canceled once.. but it was for griefers that knew how to make me mad. After I HTFU a bit, I came back and payed but didn't play since life had taken a sudden turn for an opportunity to get laid for the first time in 10 years..(GF + Video Games = don't mix, usually [i am unlucky by nature]) BUT after I got what I wanted(wasn't that great, but better than nothing for the rest of my life), I ditched that liar and came back almost two weeks ago. I don't think I'm going to cancel anymore, since my new truck is now payed off.. and life is about to be more stable for me. Notice I have no complaints about the game, as much of what I enjoy about it is still there, behind the shiny new skin. And I post on my main, because I'm proud to be a EVE player that supports CCP's vision.
I sure miss the positive vibe on the forums.. Glad to have found this thread.

i agree the price of those vanity items are over the top, mainly because the plex price went up dramaticly over the last year, and i do feel a bit sorry for people using low end computers and video cards and CQ shouldn't be mandatory if you are just doing a quick change ofships or just unloading your orca or hauler during some mining ops by example
I started this game after somebody told me about black monoliths in space , i thought cool a game about my favorite filmmaker Now 2,5 years and 4 accounts later , the game has improved in my opinion, there still alot todo and i am sure ccp is working on that incarnia just added a new lvl of immersion to it and i cant wait till that door finnaly opens
Btw i still need to see one of those black monoliths so i will keep playing

I have virtually cancelled just to express my opinion about Incarna in the reason box. Of course I'll resub again. Game is the same after all, with some new stuff.

Originally by: democrities I love CQ too. Though the microtransactions are stupid, but I can't wait until incarna is fully done with walking in stations and such, it'll be awesome.

I think many of the features released in Incarna to entertain the simple minded should have been saved for later, and the time spent on fixing existing issues.
CCP does seem to be headed somewhere, but I have no idea where.
I hope they are heading for a full immersion (without movable characters or mirrors) 'life in space' simulation. Since this is the only MMORPG I've ever played, and there is a remote chance they are headed for full immersion, I'll stay for a while.

A lot has happened over the last couple of days, and although I have posted earlier today about my concerns about EVE and CCP, quitting now would just seem like a knee-jerk reaction. I recently paid up for the year anyway, and I'll be damned if I'm wasting all that money by not playing. There are issues with CQ and the NEX that really need addressing, in my opinion, but CCP have put their hands up before when things have gone wrong. My faith in them has been a little dented, but not destroyed.
I still love EVE, and have no intention of quitting. Yet. So it's an X from me. Fly safe.

X I made my first (and possibly only) post on this forum just to support the OP. I won't cancel my sub, I love CQ and I'm looking forward to what Incarna will be in the future.

I've been browsing the forums for just a few weeks now, and already I'm so fed up with most of the people posting in it. I demand a great cleansing to get rid of all the trolls and haters in this forum, making it a place for grown up people discussing valid opinions in a civilized manner, like it should be.
Yes, I know this is the internet, but it is possible, I've seen it elsewhere.
