Btw... This just occured to me. Do you people remember how ccp devs were stating for some time now that they want to tie up incarna with combat booster trading and black market..etc...
What if they really mean to sell boosters for aurum?

1. The "CCP employer" expressing his "opinion" is a lead game designer.
That has already removed visibility of faction standings so they can sell them. That has already moved fittings server side and limited you to 50 so they can sell you more.
This!
And unless stoped, theyll continue to remove features from the game and bring them back with a price tag attached.

+1 internets to you sir. I'm very tempted to see this as the threadwinner.
Even though I left my tinfoil hat at work last week I am saddened to say that this is probably true. The rage quitiing of the older players is EVE's Flight of the Earls , by getting rid of the older/game savy and resource richer players CCP opens the way for in-Gamne Advantage MT's.
If this is the case... ...than, you know, other game companies may follow that model. Soon you wont be able to play eve/wow/perpetum/(insert other popular mmo here) without really fat RL wallet...
My only thought about it is that maybe its a bit stupid to concentrate on only RL rich players to be your target demographic, i mean, there are much more middle to lower class people (depends on given country standard, middle class in US is higher class in other countries) the world than rich people...especially in this economic crysis times...
So in a way they would chase off gaming population of their own country (iceland is bankrupt as far as i know), and other "not so rich" countries...
For example...if i need 15$ a month to play eve...and i have enough of personal "fun and relaxation" budget to pay for eve, but i dont have enough budget to go out every single weekend, i will stay home at certain fridays and saturdays coz i am a student with not much income... ...but if i need 50$ a month to play eve "normally" (with non vanity items etc) i wont play eve, ill rather get myself a bunch of weed/alcohol/fruit juice/whatever... ...and have fun with my friends and still wont go out on certain fridays and saturdays and play something else or read a book or smoke 15$ worth of weed/drink alcohol/fruit juice instead with my gf at home those weekends i dont have money to go out...

Probably not the most informative link provided today. At least not out of the box.
You are asking someone to make accusations against a guy who owns a whole country mate.
edit: posted a pic above
Ok found it Its mentioned here on eve-o forums... first link in this post is to here
Quote: "He will keep stakes in two other Icelandic companies, computer games firm CCP and data-centre operator Verne Holdings, as well as in Polish telephone company Play, but dividends or the gains from future sales will go to pay down debt."

So...tell your friends not to play, about the way CCP treats us and their game. Give bad reviews.
-Hey Karl ! -Hey Jim ! -Do you know Eve Online ? -Nope -Well, let me tell you why you should not even try it...
As far as i know eve online and ccp games with it grew and spread primarily by "word of mouth" from its customers to other potential customers. I know that i for example got at least 3 people to play eve, and i talked two people into resubing to eve...
So it can be destroyed by "word of mouth" too...

I'd like to put my isk on more...
I bet it wont mention the newsletter at all... ..or non-vanity items for aur for that matter... ...instead it will talk about performance in CQ and bugs and "zi future"...

Originally by: Cheroth Morachi I'm going to say something crazy here:
IF CCP swears...on blood that only vanity items will be presented in the NEX store, at reasonable prices...
IF CCP promises to make a more concerted effort to work with the CSM and the player-base to prioritize what needs work within the game (I'm not saying that we dictate what CCP does; far from it. If they want to incorporate WiS, I'm all for it, but throw us Gallente who've been dealing with garbage hybrid turrets for 2 years a bone, or end the blob, or any number of other legitimate gripes that the players have had for years, yeah?)...
IF CCP spends as much time fostering one of the coolest communities in teh interwebs as they do in devising ways to make the game more profitable...
I'll buy a g0d**** virtual t-shirt.
OK?!?!?!!?
Yes i may too... but if they put "NO non-vanity items for aur" in EULA.

Originally by: Dograzor My take is that any damage control that comes now, is too little, too late.
Well they got alphaed right into 20% structure because of no damage control... They either can overheat the reps and keep fingers crossed or spam warp button... or negotiate in local for a ransom...

If sony bought ccp eve is officially dead, no question about it...
If not dead right away than they will first remodel eve into carebear friendly pay to win theme park mmo to milk all it can be milked out of it before its dead...

Update by Fallout in the sticky above:
" Recently, a third-party Web site stated that they had received confidential information regarding a buyout of CCP by Sony Online Entertainment. I can confirm that neither Sony nor CCP are in such discussions, and CCP is and remains and independent company.
P.S. I realized this does not answer what is most important to many of you at this time: yes, CCP Zulu is working on a new blog, as he posted on his @arnarhrafn Twitter a few hours ago. "
So i hope we will get the answer finally...
Will MT move beyond non-vanity items?

Dear CCP,
It is not that you made the NeX items unreasonably pricy, although you have. It is not that we merely dislike change. Some of us dislike it, some of us welcome it.
It is that your business plan, from everything we can see, intends to take away the gameplay central to Eve; the player-driven economy. You're planning on making players that have spent time training for manufacturing, researching blueprints to wring out research efficiencies compete with a deus ex credit card.
Someone else pointed out that many player corporations have standings aid as a service for new recruits. You have players themselves advancing the social mechanics of your game, as part of the gameplay. Do you really think it's a good idea to disrupt that?
When we join, we join for the shiny. I joined because I might someday get to fly a Nyx. I'll admit that. But I've stayed, (and paid for new accounts like this one), because it is the players that drive the lore. The epic battles people talk about in chat while mining are the battles that they or their friends participated in, or caused. All of the politics is real. The bad guys are that other group of players that threw a wardec your way.
What we're worried about is that you'll start by taking the little things away, like offering standings aid as a player corp service, and move on to bigger things. There will be people that are willing to pay real money for the I-win-mobile. If you think that you can boil a few hundred thousand frogs to reach out to the few thousand teenagers with dad's credit card you'll lose us too. Then you will have lost what makes the game worth playing.
You'll lose the experienced FCs that know how to run a fleet and can train noobs to be just as valuable as the pilot in the that T2 cruiser. You'll lose the alliances that police their own territory making the alliance mechanics work. You'll lose the smart players who have poured so much time, thought, and effort into the game. The only kinds of players you gain are the ones with short attention spans. The ones that have no patience. The ones that play a "title" and move on.
And what happens when that's your player base? You have to be forever adding "content" like WoW does. Here's the new dance of the month. I've come to hate the term "content" because it's come to be akin to "just give them more icons". I'm not looking for just "content", I'm looking for play.
Most of your players today are not kids. I'm in my late thirties. I work in the software field. Like most of your players, I'm not stupid. I am not just a revenue stream. I say these things not in an attempt to gain your respect. I say these things in the hopes that they make you think about the kinds of players you want inhabiting your universe.
I won't cancel my account yet. You haven't upended the sandbox yet. Like your CEO suggested, I'll watch what you do more than what you say. I played Star Wars Galaxies, I had a character that made weapons. I had a plan in the game to become the premier gunsmith in my little neighborhood. That was what I was going to play toward. Sony changed the game, I dropped my subscription because it wasn't fun anymore. Please don't do that to us.
Regards,
Nyssa
