Edited by: Michelle Vega on 25/06/2011 20:42:23 Don't you "i'm quiting eve" threaterners get it? Even if 3500 subs quit (ok a wildly overestimate amount) it isn't going to affect CCP at all. what they are introducing is going to bring in 35000 more subs.
You might as well quit your protests. 90% of the people in these protests are just in it for the ride and the thrill of doing something different in Eve. Not like on the news where people burn american flags and protest kind of mentallity.
But whatever tickles your bones, go for it.
Edit: fixed numbers

oh wait...
but seriously how does introducing real money for items that are better than anything a player can produce going to bring in more subs?
also for the record I'm still not yelling NGE yet... but... there was thread on this same thing for SWG right before they went from 300,000 subs to 100,000 in 2 months.

My friend quit WoW to sit in CQ and pay $60 for a monocle. True story.
I guess these other 34,999 subs you mention want to do the same?

Really OP and prey tell where are these 35,000 new subs going to come from?
This games been about for years, everyone that wants to play it is playing it already.
Only possible places I can think of is some of the ones from SWG when that closes and children and to accommodate those the game would have to be dumbed down somewhat.
So where are these 35,000 new players coming from?

I would say 3,500 is an under estimate.
and you know what the bottom line is:
those 3,500 couldnt give a toss about the new 35,000 because guess what?
They wont be here and their $52,000 a month wont be here either.

Your critical of 3500 sub losses but then throw in an entirely random 35k increase? Sure whatever.
Besides CCP are facing a PR disaster. Check any other gaming news site, wont this effect new subs? The protests too are been picked up on multi-national gaming news site so irregardless they will have some impact.

I seriously doubt it that 3500 will really quit and I also doubt it that 35000 wil join.
They better make the new player experience a bit better so they may retain a few more players.

You forgot "buy skills". Now people who walked away before will actually come back to "play with the older players".

Even CCP's own staff say that the companies wildly optimistic figures for playerbase increase are utterly unreachable. So guess again.

Edited by: M4sterm1nd on 25/06/2011 20:50:19 The facts may be entirely different, but the appalling lack of ANY clear communication from those in charge makes us "threateners" feel like CCP is pulling an Enron, and we're going to be stuck with our primary hobby FUBARed by the equivalent of a schoolyard bully!
The central questions now put to CCP in literally thousands of posts are simple yes or no; this isn't rocket science. They evade the questions citing supply and demand, but I don't seem them sending studs and starlets round to the undoubtedly significant percentage of the eve populace that wouldn't mind a sammich, a massage, or a quickie between roams!
