As well, unlike most people, I think your posts were actually some of the more respectful towards us to come out of CCP in recent times, so I also thank you for that. It's unfortunate what is going on in and around the EVE world right now, but letting that bleed over into contempt for a child's life is beyond indefensible - it's absolutely disgusting. If it is another blatant stunt that is just disgusting on a whole new level for ccp. Also the way it felt when it was posted in a thread felt like it was supposed to make us feel guilty for being Mad. When in fact CCP was too incompetent to have a back up person, like they should have. Anything they say now is subject to a certain level of distrust. And rightly so at this point.

She was doing her job, the job they pay her for, and the alternative would've been to quit. And unfortunately, there's not much money to be made in unemployment, particularly when you have a kid you have to think about. Save your outrage for when it's proven CCP lied, if it ever is (and I do not believe it ever will be). Pann stepped out of that thread long, long before the e-mail was ever leaked, and another CCP poster took over. In the meantime, consider that you're advocating contempt for a company that bleeds over into contempt for a child's life.

I offered a devil's advocate post and followed it up with a post making it clear that I was simply pointing out the rational thought process for why some might doubt the story. I also offered my well wishes, as someone who spent considerable time in the hospital as a child. When people are using words like "monster" in this thread, I think it is only fair to point out that all may not be as is claimed. Probably is ... but really nothing would surprise me after the last 72 hours.

With that out of the way that does not suddenly excuse CCP as a company from ignoring its customer base. Even with CCP Pann being the "head of PR" then the second-in-command should have stepped up. Or, barring that, another senior level manager or given the nature of this beast one of the executives of CCP. CCP cannot use CCP Pann's emergency as any kind of excuse to avoid the issue. If they try to use that as a foil that would be so ridiculously low, callous, and disingenuous that I'd probably laugh out loud. If people believed them, I'd probably laugh a bit more.

CCP has revealed this young girl's sudden emergency surgery as a way to excuse themselves from responding to the current eve related mess. Even assuming it really happened, what kind of monsters are they that they would use this family's suffering as an excuse to avoid cleaning up their mess?
