Back when I started, 2004, we were looking to 100k players online. I've cancelled, but since I have 5 months left I may as well login still. Not playing much tho, just waiting to see how things pan out. _______________________________________________ Top 10 things I hate in these forums. *snip* -Oi mod |

As the OP said, between the 52 monocles and 53k people online this HUGE expansion that caused the whole :18 months: cause of how much work it was to produce so much :awesome:... Seems to be a success!!!

Don't forget the iMac Core2Duo w/Radeon X1600 users who simply can't run the game, and then the people whose GPUs melted/crashed/bluescreened when running Incarna.

Between the two, the expansion everyone has been talking about for the last 3-5 years.
What's wrong with this pictureà?
Weekend weather in northern Europe (Germany/Scandinavia) has been glorious and we do have a beer addiction around these parts .. Server pop always takes a dive when weather is fair, has been that way since I started 5 years ago.

If the CSM aren't good enough how are you going to get your "real and open dialogue"?
The fact is that people have worked themselves up into such a frenzy that there's nothing CCP can do in the short term to allay their fears. Of course CCP haven't helped themselves in all this but even if they come out now and say all the right things the common response will be "we don't believe you".
As much as it sticks in the throat now is the time for the player base to follow Hilamr's advice, look at what CCP do and less of what they say.

That's the whole point, I would say that the only way to get players placated is to immediately either remove Aurum and the vanity store or to make sure that it is only vanity items that ever appear there from now until they end of time. I personally think this was a terrible business decision to begin with and if I were in charge I would have removed the store and currency the second the protests started to begin with.
Oh and I'm talking about CCP actually speaking of the forums again instead of **** waving on blogs and using moderators or CSM to do their dirty work for them.

I can run it on a Core2Duo with x1400. Of course, not when CQ is active.

Come on. We are what a week after the amazing expansion that lets us get out of our ships? And yet the daily peaks are no different to the weeks before?
Not to mention a lot of accounts were reactivated just to check it out. To be honest, I would have expected at least 62-68K accounts online if this expansion was as decent as Apocrypha. Incarna, in terms of player numbers has been a DISASTER.
Saying that because the server isn't at 20k or something so the protesters are the minority means NOTHING. You would have to watch the server states at least 6 months down the line, and this could all be nullified anyway if that CSM meeting comes up trumps for the player base.
And also, as many people have stated, you can cancel an account and still play in the hope that CCP will alter there stance/explain themselves more clearly about the various issues with Incarna. A lot of people sub for more than 1 month.

In the UK, Sunday was the hottest day of the year and still there were 50k online. I wouldn't call that a disaster by any means. What disappoints me is the people who scream and moan like babies on the forum about them leaving but they're still here...
Get lost already, we don't want you in EVE.

You can shout all you want, I'm just stating what I've observed. For the week after a new expansion with new content, it certainly doesn't look good. Ever since RMR the user count tends to peak either to almost max or beat it, at some point, during the week following.
And this is including the fact that lots of people logged in to shoot statues etc.

LOL, OP having a bit of trouble reading a graph?... the current stats are significantly down on what CCP would have been expecting, I'm sure they will be watching what players are (or rather aren't) doing very closely.
3k down on last weeks peak, given that the day after the patch was up about 2k on its same point last week (as people logged on to check it out), means that they are around 5k fewer people logged on than they would have expected today... sounds pretty significant to me.

Hey MR -
This is what happened with me. While I know my computer is quite old, at least I was able to play the game before this expansion. But since its release and how the quarters initially has to load first, I am locked out of the game unless I borrow my brother's to do minor tasks.

if you look at thetopic where the people are counted that are taking down their account i wouldnt trust that number you see at login :P

I cancelled my alt account. But his time runs out in 3 weeks. So I'm still using him to collect up his stuff and transfer to my main.
As most of us have alt accounts I could see other people doing the same.
"I don't NEED an alt account, CCP have upset me and I don't like the way this is going, but I've been here for ever so I dont WANT to leave, so I'll cancel my alt but move everything to my main, I can always renew it if things get better"
Potentially that could easily still cost CCP 10s of thousands of accounts. Yet still have player counts the same as we see most days.

The daily average is increasing and past few months have been stable or slightly increasing. I guess we'll see how it shows in a couple months time.
