Reports indicate he may have abducted by crazed Jovian scientists for experiements one can only imagine. Many thanks to him and his excellent work i'm sure we'll see him again! We need a new map maker: - Applicant needs to be able to update at least twice a month. - Have a good knowledge of EVE corporations and factions and alliances. - Be an avid reader of the forums. - Have thier own ad-free hosting for the maps. If you would like to be the mapmaker for this forum, please provide a link to your version of a new EVE map thats correct to this date (see posts in above sticky to update), the best one will be our new 0.0 mapmaker! Example Closing date for entries: Friday 25th February - 12:00 EVT Good Luck! Post them here! Keep posts in this thread and not on the forums. ZhuuÀ gheyÀleeÀyan (Kongming)

The multi color font is also somehow easier to read for me. It just needs to be more updated (obviously) and the Allied forces needs a new font(black on black even with a green outline just isnt good.), otherwise id say that one is really good. ~~ Hyey I just payed 15 dollars this month just to be able to respond on the forums... stupid cancellation error.

Ichabod is the only mapper who drew XTIC-borders right (remember, XF claims southwest-detorid up to bottleneck XSUD-1, Constellations 4srw-b, hov-vi, 1rg-gu, t875-t) - others didn't even include half of Immensea or left out most of Stain Territory (Southern Catch) or made Curse simply "allied territory" (but this is regretable as the real state of Curse is rather complicated). Irash did the best (but not perfect) visual work. I suggest STRONG colors for the regions and clear fonts in bright colors. There is no need in using a different variation of black for every region. Crass Spektakel life is short and in most cases it ends with death but my tombstone will carry the hiscore

Some of the other maps have better visuality but don't have correct borders and sometimes are missing entire factions (missing ATUK controlling most of Detroid in 2 of the maps for example). I should be done before the deadline though. 2.) There is a difference between attacking an alliance, claiming territory and disputed territory. Examples: BoB/Shinra/Imperium are attacking Fountain Alliance in Fountain region. But all have possible intentions. (From my best objective guesses) Attacking: Imperium is attacking FA. It is not necessarily because they want to claim the Fountain region, they just dont get along. Claiming: FA Claims the Fountain region. This is evidenced through their offices and pilots in the region. Under Seige: One could say that Fountian Region is under seige by ATUK/Shinra/BoB. When the offices and pilots are greater for this group, then the claim can be transferred and it can be said that Fountain is under seige from the Fountain Alliance. Disputed Territory: BoB and FA both claim Delve and therefore it is disputed space. This is evidenced through the changing PC stations. While you may not agree with how I have determined who is in what position, you really should agree that there is a distinction between claimed, disputed, attacked, seiged, etc. How you map makers choose to display this I leave to you. ------------------------------------------------ I suggest the following: Attacked Sieged Claimed Disputed Ok, not for real real, just for play play... ------------------------------------------------

In many cases, one faction has a greater unflunece during a specific timezone than another. I am sure I could create an alliance of purely US players that could wipe out any other place during the specfic time. Trouble is, you cannot claim anything by only being there for 8 hours of a day, and it really sucks when you log in off time, lol. That being said, Euro timezone isn't everything! The problem is: I, and I'm sure a lot of other players, use this map while eve is open. Flash + Eve = not a healthy combination. Righteous Fury's is the best so far, imo. I like the clean font and the addition of region names. Maybe add some (different colored... yellow maybe?) dots to indicate infamous choke points for those not familiar (A2, HED, PF, P3EN, etc). I'm sure there's enough diplomacy gurus here to help him get the map polished quite nicely. ---------------------------

We'll take care of Delve once we're done with Core ;). It's not like there are any players in Delve at all anyway (at least not EU timezone which is what I play in). Split up the box, added some more detailed information (not 100% correct I'm sure, it'll do until the winner is decided). I'd add the color codes, but some of them are quite similar due to the fact that I was having trouble with colors of the same shade looking nearly the same when 25% visible. To be honest I'm not really interested in making sure that specific systems are claimed properly, knowing which region belongs to who is more important. I've tried to be as accurate as possible, but I know I've given some people a bit more (or less) in terms of area just from trying to fit everything, so I apologize for that. I'll keep updating as I think of stuff to add, I think my entry is nearly complete though.

Please check ingame map with sovereignity set and you'll see in fact we claim just one of those. I wouldn't mind if you marked Tash-Murkon and Domain regions as CVA space (as territory of our presence and defence against Minmatar terrorists of course, not claim per se because those are official Amarr empire space), but that is not strictly necessary of course.

I'll try to make the colors distinct as possible by not using similar shades next to each other. I'd use the same colors at Quarath, but I want to have my own style and not just a clone. Szumo Manos - I realize I gave you a bit too much space heh, twas late when I was trying to finish off the controlled territories with HF/CVA/COE. It was like 4 am, and the slight difference between the star layout of my map and quaraths was driving me insane haha. I'll fix that error, but I'm not going to give you regional claims in empire. While yes, I realize you guys are roleplayers (and do it very well I may add), the real interest of this map is 0.0 claimed territories. Perhaps in the future I'll make an RPer map showing Ushra'Khan, CVA, and everyone else. Missus Doubtfire - To be honest I have no idea where Supremacy and 3FA decide their borders end, I just made a rough guess as to where their territory is. if someone could perhaps take a screenshot of Syndicate and just circle where who goes it would help me immensely (no need for quality, ms paint lines would work). I'm a southern fruit, I don't venture out west or north much I'll take a look at quaraths map again and fix them as best I can though. Elve - Haha you're quite right. I didn't put any real thought into it when I was doing the colors, but now I realize you're correct. A lot of my colors are similar to Quarath's, so perhaps it was his idea of color coding. Back to Photoshop, I'll post an update later today.

Afaik, 3FA claim the Y4Y Constellation, and SUPR claim the MK7-AO and JQV5-9 constellations. The rest of syndicate is very much a no-mands land last time I was there, atlhough I do recal Imperium once stating that they claimed the rest of the region? (giggle good luck..) My favourite atm though is Ben's map, simply because Quarath's style and choice of colours was excellent and I dont think there's anypoint in changing either of those things unless its for something better. Rightous' map is original, and nice to look at, but not better imo than the old Quarath design.

The gangbang of controlled territories in what used to be CA makes it a pain to use a broad spectrum of colors and still try to compensate for color-blindness. They're far enough away from each other so that its not real confusing, unless the big SHINRA text is hiding.

I now present three new versions of my map, each in different formats for comparison: GIF version (254K) JPG version (252K) PNG version (218K) Only content change is the addition of a skull in Stain. The PNG is obviously the smallest, but both it and the GIF version suffer a little from the 256 colour limit (especially around the skull glows), while there's a little artefaction in the JPG version which I could reduce, at the further expense of filesize. I can also reduce the images' dimensions of course, if people feel that these are too big? The original underlying map was screenshotted at 1600x1200, and while a lot of blank space was of course trimmed off, the map itself has stayed at that same scale so far. /Ben

Righteous Fury	Posted - 2005.02.25 02:33:00 - [150] Updates: I was bored, so I changed the size of CVA and HF, hopefully they should be correct now. Slight color change as well for those two. I also changed the regional map a bit, added in the chokepoints. My opinion on chokepoints is that on the alliance map they cause a bit more confusion, and are better left on the regional map. I'd be happy to take suggestions otherwise, as its your opinion that counts, not mine. Other suggestions for what to put on the regional map (or to leave it as just regions) are helpful too. Its now a question (imo) of who is going to keep their finger on the pulse and update most frequently/quickly. Those are two things you cant judge from the look of their maps.
