Wait, Paul Clavet? Is that you?
Bunch of addicts with their 'rabble, rabble, rabble' using any excuse to pretend that it's all better now so that they can get their next fix.
Wish they'd 'show some brass ones' and say 'I'm addicted to EVE. Don't take my complaints seriously in future. Please use lube maybe unless you don't want to that's okay too.'

I was watching these two people have this internal debate within CCP, I thought it was fascinating:
Employee 1: "WeÆre a very open company. A lot of us post on the EVE Online forums; quite a few of us have a twitter account etc. Most of us really love spaceships and donÆt mind talking about them whenever we get a chance. I donÆt answer every single tweet with my name in it, but I manage to reply to a lot of them. ItÆs pretty cool, I think all the secrecy in entertainment is pretty silly, so I enjoy being able to talk to the community about everything from the Reykjavik weather to internet spaceships.
The majority of concerns people have arenÆt exactly industry secrets, so there is no reason to gag your employees."
Employee 2: "There is a pretty overwhelming perception amongst EVE players that these changes are bad. I think they're brilliant, but our players don't. We're going to face an uphill struggle, and the reason many of us never talk about this publically [sic] is that we'd be burned at the stake by the players."
Then I realized it was just Soundwave talking to himself.

If you say so brosef. I had already alluded to the fact on more than one occasion that I was using the opportunity to metagame, yeah I was ****ed off initially but between everything else im playing being a pile of suck, my friends wanting me back, and seeing what I would regard as some genuine discourse from Soundwave im satisfied.
Im not exactly hurting for isk and could plex up for several years on each account so screw it, if CCP do kill the game in the near future at least i can say " I WAS THERE ".

I think you're confusing 'gelatinous discharge' with 'genuine discourse'. You do realize Soundwave is a goon, right? You do recognize after years of playing EVE when you're being trolled, right?

I still can't get over this... I want my 15 dollars to pay for the game, I don't want to pay 15 dollars and then see even more ways for someone to try to take my money. How the idea of Microtransactions ever even came to the table in this subscription game is beyond me. But them actually introducing it into the game (which is obviously a system that they can introduce any kind of item they want into) is extremely disheartening.
I love eve enough not to quit on what I see as an ultimate failure, but if i keep seeing this stuff I wont consciously be able to keep playing.

Keep seeing what? Microtransactions which don't offer an advantage in any way?
The way I see it, if people are willing to pay for it, it means more money to CCP, which means more money dedicated to improving the game. Doesn't bother me. -------- Enemy corps raided into disbandment: Three.

To you oh blind one and to the "entity" you address your letter I give you this:
"We may be sure that the characteristic blindness of the twentieth century - the blindness about which posterity will ask, "But how could they have thought that?" - lies where we have never suspected it... None of us can fully escape this blindness, but we shall certainly increase it, and weaken our guard against it, if we read only modern books. Where they are true they will give us truths which we half knew already. Where they are false they will aggravate the error with which we are already dangerously ill. The only palliative is to keep the clean sea breeze of the centuries blowing through our minds, and this can be done only by reading old books." ù C.S. Lewis
I count myself out of your game, for a game it is, and instead choose to create a third front in it. Also since said entity took the bait in this amusing game I'm sadly forced to point out to it I give back what it said for I do not want it and find the thought repulsing, but to you Oh Blind One, a courteous nod, even if your clever disguise shows a reflection in the mirror.
Keep on.
PD: Repulsing? more like deadly nauseated by it. ---Eve is not dying, its being murdered ----

Oh, okay then. Just go ahead and quit based on the probability that CCP decides to introduce

Let's hope we have reason for that soon and often.
Soundwave does get credit and thanks most of the time like with the changes team BFF made its just this time a large number of little issues angered the players all at the same time and then the news letter popped up and gave people a target to vent their anger towards.
There was the outrageous prices in the NEX(on) store and the spectre of advantage giving MT (like PLEX for remaps), then there was performance issues of the captains quarters and the way it went from optional to mandatory and all of this was added to the general frustrations over things like nullsec mechanics, botting and everything else, then the newsletter was leaked with the headlines,
"Greed is good"
And
"Yo I am Soundwave I think EVE needs loads of Micro transactions for EVERYTHING, even to store ship fittings"
Unfortunately it made him a very visible target for all of the anger, instead of people venting at "CCP" they vented it at "CCP Soundwave".
It definitely went to far with massive amounts of insults, people demanding he get sacked (rumours of RL threats to) and he didn't deserve the amount of criticism he got, he is not entirely and singularly responsible for everything CCP have done or intend to do and getting the blame for things other people have messed up must suck.
But he's definitely done a lot of good and team BFF and the little things projects etc have made the game better and it looks like they intend to do a lot more before the end of the year.

What if I like sandboxes, not being lied to, not being double-billed, not having to compete with bots, and finished content, Alex. What should I do then? (And sorry, but forming a huge alliance so I can vote myself CSM chair and getting one of my cronies hired by CCP as lead developer guy isn't feasible for me atm.)

So anyway, you've got a goon running CSM and a goon in charge of developing internet spaceships. And the goon in charge of developing internet spaceships has this to say:
"IÆve started using the CSM quite a lot. TheyÆre the first line of sanity check we do, so whenever we make a large change, thatÆs been run by the CSM. The original design/thoughts are put on the CSM forum, they give us feedback, and we make changes to the design and then implement it. You shouldnÆt underestimate just how important they have become to the process. WeÆre doing 0.0 development work right now, and theyÆve been shown most of the stuff weÆve come up with, pretty much straight away. ItÆs a bit strange at first, to have work reviewed like that, but once you get used to it the feedback is invaluable."
So a goon asks a bunch of goons how he should spend his insanely limited resources on EVE.
And the other goon, who doesn't even play EVE or know **** all about much of EVE (such as wormholes) and who has explicitly stated that he only represents goons is his 'sanity check.'
What could possibly go wrong?

Oh look, now he's forming conspiracy theories. How cute.
You know, most CCP devs actually play EVE on alts. One of them being in an alliance you don't like doesn't make it any more unfair than any CCP dev in any other alliance.
Same goes for the CSM.
