For technical reasons we've been forced to postpone deployment of the 1.0.2 patch that was scheduled for today. You will be the first to know about the new launch date as soon as it becomes available and we sincerely apologize for any disruption this may cause to your plans.

Part of committing to excellence is to do it right first time. They found something that would make it not right and delayed to get it right (fingers crossed). Burning them for trying to make sure it will be right is pretty dumb.

This is why always releasing patches and expansions on Tuesdays is NOT a good idea. Obviously releasing them on the weekend is a bad idea, but to me Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are all just as good days for extended down-times.
Now that it is delayed, can you please add fixes for the following: -Bounty system -Faction Warfare -War Mechanics -UI graphics (make capacitor readout not transparent/translucent). -UI interface (Corporation Roles applications / actionable bug).
Let's start with these and I'll think of more once these are "fixed".
kthxbye.

Sadface, can't perform any research with the current BPO/ sroll bug. Any idea if, when you deploy 1.02, it will decrease the horrible amount of 'buffer overruns' that I got ever since I started looking at static a door?

There were two fixes.
Improved CQ performance, which I take it means less heat. We will have to see if its sufficiently less to be acceptable.
The other is BPOs of any modules with a turret are unusable on Macs, and that bug affects the container that has the BPO ( you cannot scroll, items disappear, its a real mess. Fortunately I had all my BPOs in a small container, not the hangar, so for me the problem was contained. For others its been a nightmare). That one supposedly will get fixed too.
For me this patch fixes 2 problems, so I was really looking forward to it. Although actually Macs always run hot with eve, so I was hoping for some more fps, allowing me to turn up some graphics settings.

Edited by: Skogen Gump on 13/07/2011 00:15:17 Hey Guys,
I'm as jarateed as everyone else is that this patch was postponed; in fact, I can't actually play EVE for more then 2 minutes at a time at the moment; *even* with the CQ environment turned off. I guess it really just doesn't like my ATI card.
inb4 get NVidia ;)
However, I want to make a comment and say thank you for delaying the Patch CCP; considering the issues at hand, I respect your decision to delay this until all problems have been resolved and you can be assured that this will solve the problem that many people have; even with the bad press you've had recently for not being quick enough to do *something*.
So come on guys, give CCP a break; they're trying their best to ensure that we're not going to come out of this worse. (and themselves too of course but I prefer the consumer focus idea :P)

I have an ATI 6950 and it works fine, my heat is much lower then say running battlefield or something like that (about 10-20 degrees lower).
I guess I am just lucky (and have a nice cooling system). Quite frankly, I don't see the issue either. It's not like we're getting a real expansion update; just a few minor fixes (that didn't even affect me).
I think, over the last few weeks, people have gotten in the habit of getting angry at everything. And it's beginning to be a bit embarrassing, to be honest.

Actually people like you are the embarrassing part of this whole fiasco.
Perfectly good working Hardware MELTED because of this arbitrary push of an alpha-grade techdemo that has no gameplay value whatsoever. And to the contrary takes even away a quirky but beloved part of gameplay and actually breaks the immersion the Closet was supposedly introduced to enhance.
In fact it¦s all too plausible it was mainly pushed by management to show the shareholders a reason for introducing in game money trading shops. The newest MMO buzzword the suits can understand, as it¦s standard in the Asian market and we dumb Westerners are just too ornery to effin¦embrace already.
So to better relieve you of your monies, little red riding hood..
As for this patch, frankly I don¦t even care anymore..

Probably should have postponed the deployment of Incarna 1.0 (like indefinitely). Yes, the MT component sucks, but why release such an amazing piece of cr@p when you have so much forgotten content to attend to.
I'll check back after, say, 6 months or a year and see how your patch deployment went.

I would like to know as well.
I haven't burned my videocard (yet), but there is clearly an issue with the EVE client right now, as every time I play EVE for more than an hour, all my fans in the PC go totally bananas and run at 100% speed! (I have a fully auto controlled Intel i7 setup in case you wondering). Something that has never happened before.
So would be nice to get some update from CCP on this matter and when they plan to fix it!
As I am really not interested to burn my expensive hardware, because of some crappy coding on CCP's end!

No they are not! You should never run a CPU or GPU at 100% 24/7. Sure it can handle it for a sertain amount of time, depending on the overall cooling of your computer case! But it will sertainly greatly reduce the lifetime of your hardware.
A CPU can much better deal with running at 100% for extended periods of time, without causing any trouble. But GPU's still cannot! Because most of them (even the real expensive ones) come with crappy cooling fans! And running them at 100% for extended periods of time will sertainly fry them!

I am having a very high end system with 5 large extra fans in my case. So it's not overheating.
I just mentioned that since Incarna my PC is going bananas, with all fans running at 100% ! Which has never happened before! Not even with much more graphical and processing intensive games I play next to EVE!
So I can fully understand that some people with older systems might end up with fried GFX cards if CCP messed up with the Incarna patch and make GFX cards run overtime. |

But it seems to be no matter of hardware that the temperature goes crazy. I also bought some new stuff (i5 2500K @Mugen3, Evga GTX560ti FBP, Z68 Extreme4, 8GB 1333, CM Elite with 2 120mm fans) and i am experiencing the same heat issues, already with only one CQ loaded. If you think upgrading hardware so you can run even ONE account with CQ loaded is good value for money, there really is no hope for you.

could you at least return the feature of being able to double click air in a station and open the cargo of current ship?

A month has gone by since you made assurances to CSM. Nothing so far has improved my experience. A modern dual core CPU and quite powerful GPU still only gives 8FPS with CQ so I continue being greeted with the static doorway because CQ is just not worth activation. I play F3AR 3 and Crysis 2 easily on my machine, how is it you can't achieve any semblance of playability with CQ?

Any word on this CCP Guard? It's been 3 weeks since the postponement of this patch and there has been very little news on what is coming.

I doubt there will be any reply Shamna. All effort seems devoted to NEX and crowing about how brilliant it and CQ supposedly are, when frankly they are not. For example I get 60FPS with CQ disabled, so it just shows the massive drag on resources for some clumsy walking about. In addition with CQ enabled it affects the game in space by reducing FPS there too, in short it's a disaster.

Edited by: oematoema on 13/08/2011 07:20:00 Wasn't this thread stickied? It's been more than a month now since postponement of this patch. Any word on progress of this patch CCP? Anything? Please? Pretty please? Even a reply from any CCP employee containing just the word 'no' with an optional '**** off' would be greatly appreciated.

Isn't unsticking it already a reply from CCP? Not sure of which kind. Either "****off" or "We screwed up big time, sorry we work on next expansion which will fix bugs and add ships instead of Sims shopping in Space".

Still no reply whatsoever. Anyone surprised? Maybe the 'technical reasons' that caused this postponement have gone forth and multiplied, and made it impossible for CCP employees to read and/or respond to this thread!

New build on sisi has a update popup that says it is 1.0.2. Best guess Monday after the mass test tomorrow.

Tuesday then, it's always tuesday when they release new version.
But if they are testing it on sisi, that's no guarantee they it will be on Tranq anytime soon.

There is no such thing as a "modern dual core CPU". I'm running a 6-core and I think 2-core CPUs are set to go out of production soon too. -----------------------------------------------

I'm running an overclocked quadcore and CQ is pushing my cpu to heights never seen b4 in any game. CCP is just doing a bad job at optimizing their code. And that is not something new unfortunately, only this time it's really, really bad.

Also just FYI my pc specs are AMD 965 BE 3.4gig ASUS DC2 GTX570 8gig DDR3 1066ram And a Coolermaster HAF 932 tower
I run a dual monitor set up with a account on each screen my CPU temps is around 45c with GPU around the same and while docked CPU sits around 70-80% load but I have since disabled CQ on my alt no sense in two CQ to be loaded and I have seen about a 20% drop in load on the CPU
With CQ the temperatures go higher than when playing Age of Conan @max settings. Something seems to be weird there.
I have the same heating issues. With CQ on mt GPU temp ( Dual SLI Asus Geforce 460 GTX ) going to 95 Celsius Degrees. That is far more than in Crysis 2 on full details ( 75-80 degrees ). There is something wrong on your side CCP. Fix it.
