I've seen a Bellicose in space once in the four months I've been playing. Never seen the Amarr missile frig, name escapes atm.

Navitas fits inside my hauler :) Nothing better to setup a mining op than a nimble little frigate.

Inquisitor.
It really isn't that useless actually. It's a bit too slow, but still a good alternative for a kessie if you want to get on some killmails with a laser laser where your missiles are always too late.
I've seen quite a few.
Anyway I think the frigates should all get a massive speedboost and perhaps even a costreduction. It would seriously encourage players to fly frigates more often then just for the standard tasks.
And when you see more frigates flying around you will eventually see more of the other frigates being used that are only good against other frigates like the small lvl2 frigates.

A corpmate of mine uses one of those Mutant Space Ducks(Bellicose) not a bad arty Platform by all accounts.
And as for the bursts myself and a few corpmates get 3-5 of those for certain agent missions,so we waste them by takeing on .5 NPC spawns.Oh god we pop like mad :D _______________________________________________ An tÚ nach bhfuil lßidir nÝ folßir d¾ bheith glic -He who is not strong must be crafty |

I seen one. An ore thief attempted to switch cans without me noticing it. So i just flew by in my Iteron V and took MY ore from HIS can
Thanks for the laugh Icarus Starkiller!!
Anyway getting back to the topic.. Navitas is the most useless. You never even see NPCs fly it!

I've seen augs, though they are by far the most useless cruiser in the game.
The most useless ship is Navitas, any way you look at it. No one flies them. _____________________________________ Perpetually driven, your end is our beginning. "Can I be a consultant for EVE II?" - WhiteDwarf |

Burst is cool looking IMO.
Most useless would be the iteron I, II, IV, the navitas, the celestis, and crucifier.

Augoror is by far the most worthless.
Oddly enough, I use them frequently.
Treasure ship! Cheap as hell, can fit 3xWCS, an MWD, and carry 40mil worth of noxcium, plus the guns and defenses of a frig. Great for transporting minerals for sale.
Did I mention cheap as hell?

Heron sucks, even for newbies, and those who say they use them should document themselves on the Caldari frigates.
1¦ Condor is much faster, has more cargo space and lower signature. 2¦ Griffin has 4 midslots and has more capacitor.
So you can't use a Heron, be it for transport or EW. This ship is totally worthless. It was used as Buzzard platform because of it's CPU which noone can ever fill in the T1 ship

Edited by: Zyrla Bladestorm on 25/02/2005 02:16:14 at launch the navitas and burst had a very small niche - that of using a pair of named (reduced CPU) miner I's and benefiting from the yield bonus on them, since miner II's hit that niche utterly dissapeared (since you cant fit two on them).
Making them usefull would probably be as simple as upping there CPU so you could fit two miners II's, and the odd other small module with moderate electronics skill and maybe the yield bonus a bit (to make it like using three of them .. thus giving a good reason why not to try and cram three miners onto a punisher instead)
Navitas is a very nice looking model too.

Amarr Crucifer frigate. 100% useless and ugly to boot. No one ever has nor ever will fly them.
I've been playing since the last stage of beta, and I have not once seen one flown by a human being.

Not even n00bs fly the Navitas, I know this for a fact. I bought one when I had less then 500,000 skill-points, never undocked in it, never even flew to the same station as it, (shortly later I bought an Atron). until I sold it for 1000 isk.

Edited by: Frozen Light on 25/02/2005 07:35:16 Ever seen anyone in a Heron?
Even tho I can fly Caldari BS's, I spend most of my days in frigs :> Can't beat that feeling when running courier missions or go out on a BPO buying spree with my heron fitted with a MWD and some OD's ^^ Damn it's FAST!
All my ships are fitted for special purposes. Heron & Kestrel for courier missions and for fast getaways, cruiser for mining and PVP/NPC'ing and my Ferox for NPC'ng and escort duties (As in if someone attacks my customer, I can damp the hell out of them so he makes a clean escape ^^)
Heck, I even won a corp competition in a Scythe. 2km/s with a MWD and a webber.. damn it was fun :D -- Currents ships lost in Exodus: 3x Moa, 1x Kestrel, 1x Merlin

I suppose logistik ships don't count... well I've not seen anyone in one of those new amarr tech1 haulers yet.
d solo, didn't you say you found a use for a heron in another thread?
And yes augorors are knickers. Whoever said they are cheap and good for hauling is silly; since a bb is just as cheap and has 4tw ecm to help pull down the pants of any ebil pirates before running.
Ravens are a bit useless too, I mean, I never see one. Especially in popular agent-mission systems! ------------

I fly Arbitrators, Mallers and Celestis`s. Though since Exodus, or maybe a lil b4 ive noticed the upping of the cpu and power reqs on 250 rails and heavy beam lasers makes these ships a lot weaker than b4. Celestis used to be sweet with 8 med drones, 2 heavy launchers and 3 x250 rails And you`d see a lot more Arbitrators flying if they got another high slot that could fit a gun or launcher.
Im debating building a batch of Celestis for sale actually, if the new EW patch comes in as planned, its getting a boost to using the Target Marker and a slot rearrangement.

Well it's time to put the boot in and stop all this rambling!
Augoror is actually used a bit, it's armor bonus has led to some very interesting damage soak setups that can be made to work, perhaps mainly due to the surprise factor of "omg, is that augoror attacking me!"
Crucifier is the EW frigate of the Amarr and I've seen them around a bit, not much but a bit.
Atron I've seen used for similar reason to condor, an inexpensive alternative to shuttle.
Bellicose is actually used and I've seen quite a few, specially doing agent missions (3 missile hardpoints).
Navitas and Burst I've seen very very rarely, not really a smart choice for even beginners sadly.
Inquisitor is the kestrel wannabee of Amarr, and it is used quite a bit actually.
Heron I however hardly ever ever see. According to this topic a couple people do fly them though. The Buzzard is an ok ship, it's midslots it's real asset.

Burst: I use one regularly - its speed and cargo capacity makes it a good ship for picking up components or materials from Caldari space (I'm in Sinq).
Iteron IV: I also use one regularly (I just cannot be bothered to learn Industrial 5 yet... too many other skills to learn first). I actually own 3 of them... I consider them a better hauler for long distance than the 3.
Worst ship? Navitas (found one, tried it, scrapped it nearly immediately).

Originally by: d'hofren What about the bellicose? I don't think I have ever seen one in space.
I use belicose on hard level 2 or easy level 3 agent missions because I like the 3 missile slots and its half the price of a rupture.
I vote goes for the burst (the Probe is 10x better for mining) and the Wreath. I do have a wreath that I bought just to have one, but its useless, and I did use a burst once, but only cause I was in the back end of nowhere and it was the only ship for sale in the system where I needed a frigate to run a small courier mission. +++
It's called "low security space" for a reason. |
