Have you ever seen anyone in a Heron?
It's gotta be the most obselete ship in EVE, what do you think?

Most obsolete ship is the auguror, all the other contenders are just bad. Auguror is useless, with no reason to fly it ever.

heron is nice. it's also the hull class for the buzzard. it's a not-so-bad ship, in my opinion...
there is a fine, but dissasterous line between a fart and a shart. i suggest you make sure which side you want to be on... |

I like the Heron. It's small and fast. I use it regularly on runs through 0.0 space when I go to pick up bpcs at the lab.

Have to agree on the Heron... seen at least 1 of all the other ships in the game flown before but never a Heron. And why is the Buzzard based on that and not the Griffin? |

I use the burst as a shuttle with extra cargo hold, can't think of any other use for it with so bad cap and number of slots.

Heron have it's use because it doesn't take any rare mineral to build. It is also faster than Merlin or Griffin, 285 m/s is not bad^^.

EVE ships are in part designed to be a progression from crap to good. It's kinda expected that newbs with little money will fly crappy ships while they train skills and save up money for good ships. Such design pattern is very typical of MMORPG scene.. you wouldn't complain of some "rusty sword of crappiness" in some fantasy mmorpg being unbalanced toward better swords, right?
Heron is one of those rusty swords that most newbs don't even bother picking up.

just go to one of the caldari noob systems. bantams are used, because , they are useful.

Throw on an afterburner and you have a fast, cheap loot collector with decent cargo space.

Well that would be correct if it was stated more than 1 year ago.
But today a noob will be in a BS in less than 1 month... due to the easy going missions with their rewards and ISK payment.
No wonder noobs fly just few days a frigate to get a cruiser then a BS. And I know a few of them.
So in practical terms all those useless ships are... well useless since the game in our days is too easy to get ISK (well also to spend ISK)
