Wow. Now they are posting on Drudge Report that 80 people have been killed, far more than the original estimate of 17.
This makes me think that Norway should seriously consider two things:
A) reinstate the death penalty, like yesterday. B) introduce CCW (concealed carry weapon) permits for Norwegian citizens. Had a few of the adult chaperons been armed, that island may not have not turned into the death trap it became.

Looks like I was wrong this time, the Jihadists were only claiming credit for something they hadn't yet gotten around to doing themselves.
This kind of reminds me of the time I tried to rile up the Poles when their entire political leadership was wiped out in a plane crash in Russia.
Oh well. Made for a fun thread for awhile, as the original one was incredibly dull.
You can almost taste the backpedaling.

Norway has been an extremely peaceful country for many many decades, only a reactionary nut like you would think it's a good idea for a country of millions to change so radically based on the actions of one man on one day.
How are CCW permits and the death penalty working for the United States in combating gun crime?
Fool.

80 on the island. 17 in the explosion.
... and no, more people with guns with the potential to kill is not the solution

Fool.
CCL holders are the least likely perpetrators of crime among measured groups, at least here in Texas. 14 times less likely to commit a crime than the general public.
Also, somewhat related, somewhat not: Dunno how accurate the info is, but my Norwegian friend says that the gun used was a military issued AK-47. I didn't know Norway used the AK, but since he was in the Norwegian army himself, I'll take his word for it.

So my takeaway from the 'debate' is that it's
a) okay to jump to conclusions and immediately assume that Muslims are behind any terrorist attack, and
b) that there's no need to apologize for erroneously making blanket, incendiary comments/accusations against Muslims in general because Muslims are almost 'always' behind terror attacks anyway.
Classy.

And you think they should all be laughed at or used to attack other people on the Earth?

Secondly the guy was a white christian, not a muslim. However it's unknown if he was the man behind the bombings but he just made himself responsible for the worst shooting spree in recorded history.
****ing unbeliveable, this guy just killed more people than the rest of Norway do in one year. _________ EVE is like the "Fisherman's Friend" of MMOs. If it's too hard, you are too weak. |

More details are trickling out, but its quite clear that Muslim terrorists launched these attacks against the leftist Norwegian PM and a simultaneous shooting attack against defenseless children.
Grieving for those killed is normal, but grief is not the correct response to this outrage. It is time for righteous anger.
Norwegians leftists can give out Peace Prizes to terrorists and Muslim apologists if they like, but force is the only language these 'people' understand. US Special Forces killed Osama bin Laden, but he was only one of thousands. They ALL must be rooted out and destroyed, or these fatal attacks against innocents will continue.
It is time for Scandinavians to embrace their Viking roots and cast off the pathetic pacifism that only invites more attacks on their own soil. (And the Finns too - it isn't 'Viking' or NATO, but Helsinki could easily be next. Do you want to see dead civilians on Aleksanterinkatu?)
What can you do? Norway has half a trillion dollars in their Oljefondet. Call your MPs and encourage them to invest it in increased defense spending. Support candidates that discourage immigration from radical Muslim countries.
And you won't be alone. When the USA throws out Obama in 2012, the military campaign against violent Muslim groups will once again be a priority.
Now is not the time to 'turn the other cheek' or blame the victims.
How does it feel to be known as a racist ******* who used someone else's tragedy to promote their ignorant, harmful political agenda?
If you have any sense, you'll never post here again

Haha, whatever. Muslim isn't a race. There are black Muslims, asian Muslims, indian Muslims, white Muslims. So **** off about racism Malcanis.
On CCW (concealed carry) in Norway: I think there are a lot of dead people on that island that wished they were armed - or at least someone other than the killer was. One or two adults with a sidearm may or may not have stopped the gunman - but may have turned a slaughter into a mere standoff at least until police arrived.

Looks like this guy is a blessing for leftists all over the world. Finally someone who can be easily reported and hated without the risk of angering the political correctness crowd. "Look - he's European. Look, he's Norwegian. Look - he's Christian". Muslim terrorism is just a lie invented by right wing racists". It was funny to look at French PC papers a couple of years ago when Muslim youth were burning down neighborhoods and the word "Muslim" was left out of the papers not to anger the community. But should it be some Christian nutjob's work and we'd see "Christian far-right extremism" all over the news.
Besides that Islam is not a race, get that in your heads ffs. Muslim extremist can be an Arab as well as he can be a German. And being anti-Islam doesn't make you a racist as there's no such race. Stop pretending all religions are the same. Like I can say that Christianity is more aggressive than, say, Shintoism and no one will jump out and call me a racist, I have the same right to say that Islam is the most aggressive of 3 major religions, especially if there is a ton and a half of evidence worldwide to support it. But bashing Christianity is something the left happily allows, while criticizing anything Islam related will make you to be called a "fascist" and a "racist".

Why do people automatically assume the people behind these terror plots are Muslim? Kind of ignorant.

Obama used SEAL special forces whose level of training, equipment and personnel were vastly expanded by Bush.
Obama does like to remind everyone for years on end what he "inherited."
Senator McCain disagrees with you about the torture part, he said the information they needed came from standard interrogation tactics. And the CIA director pointed out that tortured detainees gave false information, and that Bin Laden's courier and Bin Laden himself were found via "other intelligence means", including wiretapping. And its not like Obama wasn't a fan of special ops. He was the one who decided to send in special forces rather than just bombing the compound and hoping they killed Osama.
Bush made some good moves. Invading Afghanistan, expanding the role of special ops, forming an alliance with Pakistan. Those were all sensible ways to go after Al Qaeda terrorists. The invasion of Iraq, much less so. Obama put even more focus on the Afghanistan mission and the search for Bin Laden. How can that possibly tie in with Herr Wilkus's claim that he hasn't made the campaign against violent Muslim groups a priority?

Aside from those being the rules? Atleast this way they can try and find out why he did it, and whether he has any friends with similar plans.

Actually once even a blind chicken with a fist up his behind like Wilkus can find a true grain.
Allowing responsible citizens to be armed just like the criminals and crazies IS the only real solution to the amok problem.

Do people actually think that this defence works? If you meet a muslim he's most likely to be middle easters, for sure he'm almost certainly not white, so the 'racist' charge is a fair one.

People accept everything they hear on the news so they can hate on said group, be it anti-islamists or atheists.
If the people who the news claim to be Christian/Muslim actually practiced their religions their wouldn't be any bombings or attacks.
As usual it's just a minority group who's leader has twisted the words of their holy book and their religious teachings to justify said attack.
