You guys need to read this post to understand why the top 10 turned out the way they did.
Hint: alliance block voting significantly altered the picture.
P.S. WTF did eve forums suddenly become so slow?? ... Return the Old Hangar Back... for Immersion.

Block voting our in EVE? Shocking. I guess it was bound to happen eventually /sarcasm.
What is really surprising is that only one block did it. That tells me that other alliances all know this vote was pointless. |

Its also the reason CSM voting is a joke.

How many times does "Assault Frigates 4th Bonus" need to be voted into the top 10 to get implemented? The third time is the charm?

Edited by: Marqo D''Maryn on 02/08/2011 06:54:21 Had another look at the numbers - Medals only got into #10 on total score. In terms of %popularity and votes for, they were quite a bit lower.
In any case, does anyone really expect more than about the top 5 to be looked at?

This isn't in the top ten because it wasn't on the voting list.
I'm appalled that it wasn't. It should have been at the top of the voting list. I'm surprised and appalled that it didn't win out at #1 last time. --

Most likely wasn't in because they are going to be fixed anyway. Same as the supercap nerf.

If that's the case then that works out. But I'll believe it when I see it, not when CCP says they will. --

I don't agree with some things on the list being as high as they are but the fact they are included in the list in the first place made them issues people thought about. That we don't like all the results is something inherent to democracy. Besides CCP isn't obliged to follow these results. They are a usefull indicator no more, no less.
I do like how Assault Frigates, Modular POS, black ops and 0.0 and faction warfare are mentioned. (not as high with the votingbloc but still)
Anyone saying that corp mangemen or lets say overal interfact management in eve doesn't need work is lying to himself though.
I am very happy that "musical instruments in incarna" is nowhere to be seen (those where annoying as hell in LOTRO).
Overal it seems that this crowdsourcing is a usefull tool. Voting with your names attached to the items you care about means votes researchers can easily see trends, blocs, interests, 0.0 versus low and high sec dwellers and compare that data. - Hilmar getur ekki tala= vi= ¦ig n·na, hann er a= fara ß japanska Tfskuverslun.

...but in the end it is still problem of those who do not vote :] --- This is one of the moments where we look at what CCP does and less of what they say. Innovation takes time to set in and the predictable reaction is always to resist change |

As someone with more CSM experience than the mittani, I've seen CCP use the crowdsourcing results in the past to justify bumping the development priority of a backlog item. Just because mittens says something doesn't make it true :P
That said, its unlikely they'll devote significant time to medals - CCP still make their own decisions. Hopefuly it'll push them to put some time into corp management though.

The medals was a "well, we need one more item" thing, and seeing as the medal system at the moment is a mess and fixing it would be relatively easy but, it got tacked on the end.
Yes, E-UNI accounts for a large proportion of the vote, and massively more than expected, but that's what happens when none of the nullsec power blocs vote... _____

Everything in that top 10, excepting the Medals at number 10 itself, IS TO THE ADVANTAGE OF NULSEC CAREBEARS AND GRIEFERS ONLY. Just read them CLOSELY with that in mind.
THAT is why Hybrids are not on here, along with many other game mechanics that have to do with the REAL playability of the game, especially as related to the UI.
Instead we need to fix an esoteric DOCKING GANK MANOEUVRE ???????? That anyone playing less than 6 months can't really wrap their head around as to what it's even about. Sheesh. The obsurity of that 'problem' boggles the mind.
Really ? The freakin' Docking thing ???
As PRIORITY ?......with an interface that still lets one easily and accidentally auto-target from the Overview at seemingly random moments ??????? Oh, but they WOULD want that left in..........
Yup, I can tell the ol' EVE players voted again, that much is for sure.

That's what happens when only 4545 people participate. Seeing that there are over 300,000 subscribers, only a little over 1.5% of the population participated. The rest of the population didn't do squat. I voted, mainly for Armageddon Day 2.0 (among a few others).
As for the rest of you 98.5%, it's your fault for not voting if you don't agree with the results. In fact, why complain if you didn't even bother to participate (the damn news was posted in the main page for all to see for about a week)?

If the CSM think the crowdsourcing is pointless, why go trough with it. I really don't understand why they need to make the players feel they have some say in what's going on, when it's clearly not the case. The CSM have more then once pointed out that they are going to focus all their affords on null sec, and people should just shut up and accept any spin off improvements or nerfs that may happen elsewhere in the game.

Originally by: Grey Stormshadow Perhaps next time we have more voters to carry their share to the pile. At least this time the crowsourcing was announced both in game and in eveonline frontpage. Not too many actually have bothered to vote still.
So in short - we are in the mercy of those who did... and medals shall we have (soonTM) :)
In fairness, it was announced in the news channel at login, and voting was only active for 3 days - this bit wasn't mentioned as far as I could see. When I had time to go and read the various proposals and so on, and cast a vote, I find voting has closed. --

I am actually quite happy with almost all of the items on the list. Medals and kinda meh, and having to relog to switch characters is merely an annoyance and doesn't really impact gameplay negatively.
But everything else deserves to be on the list, especially corp management revamps and the assault frigates 4th bonus.
