im an economist.. in my opinion, eve economy is crap right now. Like someone say, Ebay is a GOOD indication of what the value of isk is at the moment (I said it in another thread, or this one? I forget.. and I wont be bothered to read through this whole thread). Anyways, Ebay, 100m isk is $30. Pre-Exodus it was $1 per 1m isk. See the problem?
Whatever, I'm sure things will sort themselves out.. It's not about money sinks, it's about people not having enough stuff to spend their isk on. Battleships are now mid-level ships, named modules are going for hundreds of millions to take the place of elite items. People don't have anything to spend their isk on.
Things that will help
Bigger ships - If Dreadnaughts are billions and Titans are trillions, people aren't going to pay 3isk per tritanium.. and they're definitely not going to waste 350m isk on some crappy 1% increase from a new named shield booster.
POS - Part of exodus.. people will move to 0.0, they'll spend isk in other places (maintaining their POS). Sure it will bring more isk into the game, but it will also give something for large corperations to spend their isk on. Sell minerals, buy fuel.. lots needs done with POS for this to happen though.
I said ships, but I'll say it again. More faction ships are being 'found'. People who have the money to spend will spend them on these better ships. Once there are more out there we will see people spending 500m on the new faction battleship instead of 350m on a shieldbooster, or 3isk for a single piece of Trit. I guess this is no better then faction modules, but it will help out until the bigger ships show up. 500m isk on a faction battleship isnt a crazy price and people would rather spend 500m isk on a new ship then 350m isk on a new module.
just a few things that came to mind.
and if anyone is curious on me being an economist, I took an economics class in highschool years ago. I think I gave it a good 8 months, so there you have it. I am an expert ________
