I agree, however, the lp for defensive plexing reduces as the contested rate lowers. So it might be self managing. |

The self-managing situation may lead to severe boredom when people decide that attacking isn't worth it because they won't be able to win - especially with massive number of plexes needed to flip a system nowadays.
The guiding principle: Pay should go to those who create content. Content is created through attack.
Minor lp rewards for defensive plexing are ok, but these rewards (coupled with Tier payouts) are at "farming levels". Hopefully CCP fixes it. The risk is that people will give up on attacking systems for the same reason that they gave up on defending - the alts are too numerous and will destroy their hard work too quickly during "off hours".
"Kill all rats" was a good enough solution, IMO. There are already plenty of players who are willing to defend with no pay if they think they have a chance at winning (which they didn't when afk plexing alts ruled the day 4 days ago).
Anyways, this is a better situation than before - a few more adjustments may be necessary (lower defensive payouts, lower number of plexes needed to flip system). |

As tier level increases, the incentive to afk defensive plex increases - creating a stagnant front.
Alt defensive plexer payout example: 10k minor * Contested Level * Tier Level. At Tier 3, 10k lp is gained for each minor at 57% contested.
Conclusion: Expect systems to be brought down to less than 50% by afk defensive plexing alts at Tier 3. |

The 3 biggest alliances in Cal Mil is
Happy Endings ~ 300 members Kraken ~ 300 members Templis Dragonaors ~ 200 members
All of whom work together. That's a coalition of 800 members. If you can't bust systems with this, then you truly are, what others have referred to you as, the 'Comedy Central Militia.' A joke. Gallente FW Blog http://iamsheriff.com/blog

Fixed!
...and most of those numbers are alts, semi-active accounts and random pirates. Spread across multiple timezones.

50+ systems with less than a days notice. With a Gallente counter-fleet trying to blob them.

Not sure if you're trolling or daft. They've never wardecced each other and work together in fleets all the time. They all flew together last night in the fight in Reitsato. Check the war history of each alliance if you don't believe me. Gallente FW Blog http://iamsheriff.com/blog

A) Numbers are deceiving
B) Stop whinning Cal Mil...Seriously!?!
No one cared about system control before why are you pretending to do so now? It doesnt matter anymore, the only reason system control mattered was due to LP dumping. It doesnt matter now. Big deal you get a little more LP from holding 30 or whatever systems.
Stop bothering with the dumb fw mechanics now and just play FW like it was pre inferno. The only thing I see with this patch (which I like) is now I dont have to worry about LP dumps to make money and can cash out whatever lp I want to at any time.

Just think though, if you joined us you might not get primaried at the beginning of every fight with the knowledge that if you go down, your entire fleet will fall apart.

It's my opinion that "Ex-Ex-Luminaire General" has a bit of a ring to it (and you can keep the "Traitor" bit, too), and I suppose I can't fault a guy for personal preference.
And in all seriousness -- keep bringing the fights. I'm looking forward to what you'll do with the new dessies and refreshed cruisers in the next cycle. |
