almost lost an apoc during 1 of the simple missions...
it was a 7 cruiser spawn, and me and my buddies were happily shooting them and i never even looked at my armor or turned on hardners/reps untill i noticed i was at 30% struct... i then turned on the hardners and reps and warped out, no biggy after i started paying attention again
another time i was doing the supply line mission and after killing 1 spawn 2 bs + loads of cruisers spawned 1km away from me, all peppering me with autocannons, got away from that with 7% struct...

Lost a Tempest when someone in a scrambled and webbed me just as the Mordus bs's spawned (won't make that mistake again)
Less embarassing but significantly more expensive was the recent loss of a raven and four of the arb sieges when Eve froze up on me for 5 minutes mid-mission. Tried everything bar pulling the plug on the machine but nothing would help. Given my feelings when i saw that nly 2 arbs had survived, if it happens again i will pull the plug.

A friend of mine lost an Apoc, an Apoc and a Raven all in the same mission and all in the pirate extravaganza mission right after lvl 4 missions were introduced.
I lost a raven due to server crash but other than that I havent lost anything to any missions yet (lvl 1 kestrel, lvl 2 caracal, lvl 3 ferox, lvl 4 raven) Seriously Have I Not Said How I Can Assist Some One You Are Killing Online? |

Tempest, Raven, Scorpion, 2 typhoons.
I can't really say that I lost any of the above mentioned ships because the mission was too difficult or not. I lost them all because of my own stupidity.
One or 2 Bs I lost because I had just warped to a lvl4 mission bookmark and then went to another room to pick up the phone that was ringing.........
The rest of the BS I lost because of watching southpark movies on my other screen or posting on this very forum (posting here can have nasty consequences ), which isn't always a good idea in the heat of combat........

Er... of two missions I've attempted at level 4, I lost one Cyclone after completing the first. Only finished the second with help from some friends in alliance. Don't ask me why, but I thought It'd be fun to do in a BC... and it was... until I lost my baby... /me weeps for his ship... Hoping to lose a Muninn in the near future... cos you gotta have something to aspire to...
Interesting times await... |

Mostly to those damn merc wingmen respawning. I never see em untill theyve started to scramble my alt And by then my raven needs like 7 and a half years to lock onto them.
Never lost any ships worth money. ---------------------------

I've lost... interest.
I've found that the big, challenging lvl 4 missions that I should be excited to get (vengeance etc.) are just too lacking in pace. The challenge was fun when I first started doing them, and I still quite like the smaller missions, but the big ones are just such a grind.
Warp in, turn on tank, turn on lasers...
might aswell be mining (/shudder).
Using my zealot has made things a little more interesting, but it's not really practical for the really big deadspace missions.
I thought one of the points of having deadspace was to make missions more challenging without just making spawns bigger ? I don't see that it has worked out that way.

you can make them as boring or as exciting as you want.
if they are boring and slow paced for you, quit using uber range target practice.
lock one ship in each group and light them all up and make it exciting and challenging.
they are only as challenging as one makes them.
you can make them completely risky or you can make them boring slow cannon fodder over range uber range snipe fests where you don't even take a hit.
I myself since release of exodus.
8 Apocs 2 Ravens
1 caracal
3 crusaders
pile of shuttles
and countless close calls and one eyed warp outs, especially in the last 2 weeks
23 mill SP and still loosing ships. Way i see it, if your not loosing ships your not challnging yourself, but to each their own.

Originally by: Kesh McCall 5 Ravens in the past 14 days ... all to the same Warp allign bug in the same mission, and ofc without refunds. Conclusion .. aint doing that Mission anymore.
What mission would that be? I lost a tempest the other day too and it didn't feel right. I was aligned directly towards a gate, NOT scrambled and activated warp. The meter showed "warping" but nothing happened.. At the same time i watched my tank beging to fail due to cap draining and just waiting the inevitable while frantically clicking on the warp button in the overview -- The higher that the monkey can climb The more he shows his tail |

Lost a Cerberus last night.
First time I've done a level 4 Sabotage the Pirate convoy or somesuch. I had it tanked for mercs, then the last merc died, and a bunch of guristas showed up. I wasn't hardened enough against kinetic, apparently and died pretty quickly. My fault, though, I've done that mission dozens of times on level 3s and I should have remembered that guristas follow the first wave. Oh well, I made enough money using that ship to pay for the replacement. Which was already sitting in my hangar, thank god. ---

*knocking on that hard piece of wood close by*
Well so far I have managed to stay alive in lvl 4, but there have been some close calls. To be on the safe side I have the little backup awaiting me to be prepared.
Still the real risks are in the Dead Space missions, the regular ones are not that tough, most of the time. ------------------------------------------------

Lost an apoc on vengence.
I'd killed everything apart from the turrets on the last level, and was sitting stationary just getting ready to lock them.
I'm out of range and they are not firing. The phone goes. I go off to answer it. 5 or 10 minutes later i come back to find that my ship had decided that it wanted to get closer to the towers, and was now sans shield, armour and about 80% of the hull.
Mad panic to warp out whilst hitting armour repairers. Kaboom, Apoc dead.
Moral of the story. If you have to leave the keyboard, leave the bloody hardeners and repairers running, and point the ship in the direction of safety.

Sober : 1 Raven 1 day after exodus on the Pirate Extravaganza (all locked me, tried to warp and was told "Ship Stopping", no...tried again and was told "Ship Stopping"..etc.)
Drunk : 3 Scorps and 1 Raven. Came back to my computer in the morning (well..early afternoon, morning for me) and found a pod with me in it an a can or two or simply fumbled with the mouse like a 13 year old schoolboy round the back of a front opening bra and watched the red appear.

a bunch (read *lots*)of BC's and harpys.... i like a challenge, gotta train for HAC's.. i'm sure that would be alot of fun..and lose less ships :)
if your falling asleep doing them cause your doing them in the "I WIN" Raven setup.. it's no fault but your own..
i see no reason why one should b**ch and moan that they are so easy, yada yada... no need to wreck it for those who have an imagination.. for the rest, leave the friggin raven in the hangar once in a while and challenge yourself...
currently looking to figure a decent domi setup to try'em in.. smaller ships are more fun tho.. imo..
i think they are just fine the way they are..esp when u bring a m8 to boost you :)

I almost lost my äuberô Raven with many dread-mods to two blood BSs (and their angel-supporter cruisers and frigs) in 4th(?) level of Angel Extravaganza lvl4 missionà
I just sat there and couldnÆt believe how well theyÆre stripping my ôsuper-tanköà Still couldnÆt believe it while warping out with low armor and almost no cap left
Oh well, I used wrong tactics but I know better now û just donÆt let those mean rats come too close to you

Lost a Typhoon and a Retribution on the first day of Exodus. Worst single day of the game. Fortunately, they were both given back about a month later.
Lost a Raven to an L4, a Proph to an L3, a Coercer to an L3, and an Ares to a complex.

I have been doing lvl 4 agent missions since they were first released in game.
O have lost only 1 Megathron and that was due to a server crash problem and CCP GM's gave me the ship and lost modules back.
SO actually I have lost none really.
AND NO I don't skip any missions, I have done and completed all of the lvl 4 deadspace and normal space ones in either a raven/torps or megathron/425mm rails setups.

A Zealot assisting corpmate "Friendly" on LVL 4 "Damsel" on the third room. He got aggro'd and since I was firing I got aggro'd too. That thing was a fireball in 5 seconds of firing the first shot. He warped out after seeing my 80m ISK go.. "poof"!
I stuck around and waited patiently in my egg until he could get back and pick up my pricey t2 items that survived my spacing-burp.
Came back in an Geddon outfitted like a logistics ship and pumped-up Friendly's shield and armor, while he blasted away, I didn't fire on anything until all but a couple of baddies were left.
Afterwards on the same night I lost the Geddon to a lvl 3 mission that aggro'd everything, nailed all but three Angel cruisers. Came back in my Apoc to finish them off.
Wierd thing was I just wasn't that upset about the whole thing at the time, now I could kick myself...
I can see the prices for those HAC's are going to go up soon..
btw.. anyone have a logistics ship, are they worth the trouble of buying a 25 mil skill book?? First and Former North American Director of <FROG MORTON IND.> |

Edited by: Hyey on 02/04/2005 20:37:41 Umm ive lost about 250k of torps...
besides that not a damn thing... lvl4's are soo boring, ive been into armor exactly twice and never into structure... No npcs ever BREAK my tank, I run out of cap first, and when that happens I warp out before im in serious danger
I have since switched to full 0.0 npcing and havent touched lvl 4's in about 2 weeks... found so many named sieges I think im making about 2/3rds the money I would have doing lvl 4's in the same amount of time. Plus, its simply more fun finding 3x BS spawns and the potential loot rather than just being given the spawn.
Note: Ive also done about 100k LP worth of lvl 4's in an Apoc.. this thing was so easy its also worthless, the NPC's never dropped me below 20% armor and I almost feel aslepe twice, at least in a Raven I cant let the shield booster go off on autorep. ~~ Hyey
I just payed 15 dollars this month just to be able to respond on the forums... stupid cancellation error.
