we're pretty sure we've fixed this issue internally. I'll let you know when it hits SiSi so you guys who find it really easy to reproduce can try it out. CCP Punkturis | EVE UI Developer |

What shocks me is that the GM even had to ask a question about this, you run into it even if you just play for 5 minutes.
It also affects the ability to scroll through multiple info pages.
Makes working with windows in the game annoying.

So ... we get a decent and concerned response from a Dev, followed by a possible resolution and all you can think to do is get all arse hot over it ?

I'm forever getting this bug..
Open window, browse around, pan the mouse back over to close the window & all the icons vanish!! Move mouse off the window & move it back.. they magically re-appear!!
Do it again & the same thing happens!
No mouse button has been pressed when the icons vanish. Clicking button where they should be and nothing.
They also like to vanish when moving the windows around
Getting this when running the client in windowed mode @ 1920 x 1080
Not actually tried in full screen as I'm usually doing other stuff along side Eve |

Orin Fane wrote:So to be clear it looks like the hotspots and the buttons are not over-layed properly. There is another issue with the same bug.
Sometimes i try to click on "minimize window" [ _ ] and the window gets closed [ x ]. Very annoying, because i accidentally close multiple stacked chat channels.
Possible reason is: a) The hotspot of the buttons isnt exact there where the window controls are positioned. or b) The activation spot of the ingame arrow seems to be not on its peak.
The new 3D UI (introduced with Incarna) has problems with getting focus on inactive windows or keep focus on an active window, and that is very annoying!
1. Sometimes you try to write in an active chat window, and without your interaction the window becomes inactive and the rest of the text you typed in gets lost.
2. It also happens very often that the chat imput seems to have problems to recognize your letters if you type very fast... You type in chatwindow "Hello Fellowers" and the chat recognizes "Helo Felowers". It happens with every doubled letter and appears very often since introduction of new UI. The chat drops doubled letters! |

Thank you very much!
It is not easy to replicate, but the other posts describe the process well. From my naive perspective it seems linked with the disappearing button mechanics and the alignment of the layers, and I would gladly swap disappearing buttons for click stability.

Here's how to reproduce it. Open a bunch of info windows and then just try to close them all. Eventually you'll get to one where when you click on the X with a normal every day not weird at all click, you'll notice the window did not close and not only that but the X as well as the minimize and pin icons have completely disappeared and will not re-appear until you move the mouse to another location outside of that window then hover back over the window again. This happens while docked and in space and has nothing to do with Bloodpetal's clicking habits. |

I think everyone in the game experiences this problem.
How can it be that nobody at CCP has noticed it? Is nobody playing the game at all?
Jeez.

This issue is still persistent on Tranquility right now.
This has nothing to do with Mouse Drivers or the Operating System. This is purely an Eve Client issue and has to do with the CarbonUI framework updates to the Eve client.
So far, this Carbon based stuff (could have put a better expletive) has done nothing to improve our gameplay. NOTHING... NADA... ZILCH ZIP NICHTS... GARNICHTS! Is CCP looking into other issues players are experiencing...??? Such as the laggy/non-responsive overview?
I will test on Sisi tonight and state my findings. |

Hey, i finally was able to get on SISI.
So, here's the current functionality I'm seeing, can you confirm this is what is supposed to happen?
I Click on the "X" - I HOLD down for a few moments
The X will Disappear.
I release the click
The window stays open
The X IMMEDIATELY reappears
So it doesn't glitch out anymore - however an extended click doesn't close the window
(The fact that the extended click doesn't close the window doesn't inherently bother me because I will hold a click to cancel an action sometimes, usually combined with moving off of the X / Button that was intended to activate on Click Release)
However, it does not glitch out anymore and require a "move off window" and back to "X" - which is very good for me.

Yeah I'd say this is just how it's supposed to work.
At least if you're able to close the windows with just a regular click (as you guys were having issues with before) then I think we're all happy!?:D CCP Punkturis | EVE UI Developer |

Tested on Sisi. Works as intended now. Nicely done. Really odd, wtf would have caused that?
Hover cursor over window, reveal X, click X, close window. Fairly simple code isn't it? |

I'm having a strange issue, only for the information window in the current sisi build * it won't minimize, can only be closed * it always forgets the last size of thew window itself when closed and appears in a small window when re-opened (anchored to top-left corner of the previous state)
at work right now, will open a bugreport with logs when back home.

you're almost there
It's about the same, the " . _ + "only its popping back if the cursor stays within the window atm @ sisi
If u click on x (or anything in the /headerButtons/ range), hold and release it outside the window(can be another window, as long its outside the current one) the buttons are gone again, until u get that pointer back again in the window. |

now that's just by design, windows that don't have focus aren't showing the buttons
