it was a group of alliances Xetic formed that was supposed to show a unified force that was opposed to ATUF, Shinra and gangs actiions, but in reality everyone bailed on it and left Xetic to the dogs

SCA was formed as a means to protect a number of alliances. It broke down after one day, when one member went to war without consulting the rest.

come on now, it was at least 6 or 7 minutes..... at least!
As far as its current state, XF is more or less on its own in terms of comabt, but the rest (except for SE & V) have agreed to provide "other" support.
It still amuses me how even though XF has NEVER been a threat to any one, how all the PvPers in the game say how bad we are at combat, and how we have lost more ships in combat then the rest of EvE combined that so many after 2 years are still trying to kill us off.
I mean hell, even with all the wars in the south XF never even tried to expand its borders even when offered regions after the CA war, we turned them down. Why so many want XF dead is totally beyond my comprehension.
Now we have some of the most elite and best PvP organizations in the game beating us up, why, really? It dosen't make sence.

Perhaps it is because Xetic has done what CA could not. For all their PvP prowess, they could not stick together.

Are we playing the same game? You do know that an alliance that hides in stations or logged off cant be killed, but they can still claim victory on the boards.

Because you got greedy. This was never planned, but XF forced our hand. Now you will suffer while SE and V who honored their naps with us will do fine as our neighbours.

Greedy how, exactly? Xetic didn't try to gain from this latest incursion into Curse in any way, but in stead the Federation tried its best to cover its arse.
Nobody has managed to convince me that we could have avoided this war in any way so far. All I see is a large band of our former enemies and their new friends who are trying to make a name for themselves again.
Also, I don't get where these accusations of arrogance come from. We mostly leave it up to other powergroups to claim that they are ³ber, be it in PvP or other things. Why, only today on the forums, I've read at least 6 times how this new coalition is going to hurt us and make us cry like little girls...

Reality check - XETIC is completely based in conquerable stations.
I've never fought them personally, but considering they are one of the very select few alliances based on conquerable stations that survived several invasions largely unscathed they can't be all that bad at holding their territory.

If they just stay and fight instead of running to empire to hide until the threat is over and only come out to 'their territory' when the enemy has left, your argument would be valid. Flying around XF space last night, looking at the map as just the pilots who were on at the time completly over run parts of xf, i couldnt help feeling as i did when i was in xf and the ca war started.
If i felt like ATUK were the aggressors in this situation i would consider leaving, however this is xf's fault so im free to blow up any friends i see down there  .

Cause they can, and cause its fun!
Xetic already has a big enough bullseye on their arse just by being so fat and willing to claim space. Attacking first isn't really smart in your case, if you want to avoid wars :P

If XETIC was truly honest about now wanting a war, they would have made a official statement saying:
- Curse belonged to the 5 PvP corps living there now.
- Keep their mouth shut and not telling RA what to do.
- Saying they were not responsible for any XETIC pilots actions in Curse & GW.
- Saying that Curse & GW were offlimits for XETIC and that they were free to be shot by the inhabitants.
- They didn not back up Foundation and Keiretsu
who were on mutual KOS wotht he inhamitants of Curse.
- Not claiming travelrights through all other (even hostile) regions while denying al travelrights through their own regions for others.
- That they would start backing up SE with their actions against RA.
While this would have meant the situation would gradually deteriorate, it would have given XETIC at least two weeks to prepare for war.
Instead they went on a powertrip, and were totally careless about their pilots flying through Curse and what not, just asking for trouble and provocations.
They result is that they now have a war with very proud people who were just dying of boredom. And every single corp now living in Curse has more real PvP-ers then the whole XETIC alliance toghether.
If we would combine our activities in XETIC (blowing up everthing and taking stations), with a corp war in empire, the carebears that are the backbone of XETIC will have nowhere to run and XETIC will be gone in a month...finally.
