I don't think anyone's the best - I think that Americans who think they're the best actually demonstrate that they're the worst kind of people imaginable just by putting themselves above the rest of the world. Aussies never pretend to be the best, we just like to make sure people who big-note themselves are brought back down to earth where they belong.
America is not greater than anyone because it's "powerful" - your only real power is in military hardware. Your economy, education and health care systems and general intellectual incompetence and puritanical population actually make it hard not to laugh at you when you claim how great you are to the rest of the world. We're all out here making progress while the US remains the only developed nation in such a state of destitution that it's economic worth is actually comparable to countries like Nigeria and Zimbabwe. The only saving grace that keeps your nation from reverting to an anarchic state is the fact that nobody in the US can be bothered actually doing anything about it because they spend too much time and energy complaining about it or inventing conspiracy theories.
FYI, ignorance is a choice you make when you choose to think you know everything and learn nothing new - the fact that you think ignorance is shared by all only demonstrates your ignorance further - it's the people who are willing to learn, and know that there is always more to learn, who are making this entire world, and even your United States.

Perhaps part of the reason the US military scores lower on tactical prowess is simply the fact that it's so fuggin huge. Imagine a pod of dolphins versus orcas. The dolphins have created bubble nets, strategic strikes, illusions of obstructions and all sorts of highly intelligent maneuvers. Orcas, on the other hand, charge the beach and go "LOLOLIMGONNAEATYOU" while brandishing superior size and scariness. Sure, they have tactics, but their most effective one is brute force. |
