We'll let it run for now, but this better end in a discussion and not the spam it has been up until now.

Its a legitimate discussion, so far EVE has been balanced on the extremes.
Devs have to take in mind that in the quest for balance, not one side must favor the other. The Golden Ratio implies that there will be fairness for both sides.
Take missiles for example:
Should work as good as they do against battleships right now but need to have their ability to pwn smaller ships reduced. As opposed to a grand nerf that leaves them the useless toys they once were. _____________________________________ Perpetually driven, your end is our beginning. Aaaah... golden ratio.
Otherwise known as "The Bling-Bling Measurement". But only in certain areas of the world.

the Golden Ratio should be applied for the cost to wardec alliances compared to the size of their egos

that's quite good, also, as an alternative to using instajumps, how about the warp in distance is divided by the golden ratio? ----- ----- -----

I propose that if the flame to discussion ratio of a thread exceeds the Golden Ratio, the thread be locked. -

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this about structures and proportionality that's the most pleasing to the human eye? What does it have to do with EVE and coding, every ship will be designed with this in mind from now on?

the Golden Ratio protects us from banning. and also erases the need for a main topic as the Golden Ratio is ALL topics!

Change structures and proportionality to effect
and change pleasing to the eye to fairness _____________________________________ Perpetually driven, your end is our beginning. "Can I be a consultant for EVE II?" - WhiteDwarf |

level 4 missions are really destroying the economy. if only the bounties from the npcs were divided by the golden ratio. i think that only then eve will be saved. ----- ----- -----

When you log-off, the amount of time you stay in space should be proportional to the amount of damage you're taking, divided ofc by the Golden Ratio. -

Lets break it down for those who are still confused.
Golden = good, expensive, worth a lot, GREAT VALUE
ratio = proportionality of two factors
So clearly, what the Golden Ratio refers to is a proportionality that adds great value. Value could be defined as the positive effects it has on EVE as a whole.
How can it lose? _____________________________________ Perpetually driven, your end is our beginning. "Can I be a consultant for EVE II?" - WhiteDwarf |

Quote: <Latta> <Mitchman> To TomB really.. The upcoming EW changes is highly controversial and it has been discussed to death. Why introduce such drastic changes in one go instead of using baby steps? This is not a nerf bat change, it's a nerf thermal nuclear bomb nerf.
Quote: <TomB> because its perfect
I disagree!
The Golden Ratio has been blatantly been ignored on this matter!

Guys, I just divided the speed the earth rotates by the golden ratio, and it gave me the answer that was exactly the number i was thinking in my head!
This ratio is something else. I think it's slightly psychic! It got the exact random number i picked between 27 and 29! RIGHT THERE IN BLACK AND GOLD. ------------

The golden ratio is well known in architecture and is found heavily in the elements of nature, and it is known as the golden number 1.63 something like that. This ratio allows for balance against destructive elements that tries to topple the structure.
