Are they not?
Yeah. I think that is the general idea. But the golden ratio is to say it midly. Bogus, atleast when it comes to such things. It's a philosofical idea comming from the napoleon era. Where the search for the perfect number and absolute formula of perfection. In essence it have no merrit in the modern world. Artists and Architects trough the last 300 years have tried to make the perfect building. No such thing exist becus what is perfect is subjective. And heading in that direction is a dead end in my view.
However. I'm not saying some changes based on the 1,618 ratio is bad. Lets just not get carried away whit it. SoonÖ

Edited by: Artean on 07/04/2005 21:23:42 Too bad they never used the golden ration when they designed the amarr ships. Just think for a second how beautilful they would have been... ........ There is a fine line between gate camping and just standing by a gate, looking like an idiot... |

Hey, your fact finding is late, the golden ratio was discovered even before christ. Do the research properly.

Like, what the hell are you on about ?
I didn't participate in or lsiten to the devchat cause I was playing at the time, but do I understand right that this "golden ratio" is like the dev's way of saying they will be doing **** all like before ?
Is it sometrhing like the new soon(tm), only rationalising not delay but half-hearted attempts at getting somehwere for real ?
Of course, I might jsut be totally wrong and overly negative on this one, but somehow I doubt it

<Oveur> there's not actualy going to be a chat today .... we just thought we'd get you all here for a mad laugh ... and as an added bonus we thought of something annoying you can all use on the forums .... just don't tell anyone about this andf pretend there was a real chat in which lots and lots of important things were discussed __________________________________________

Well for anyone who is wondering why golden ratio is mentioned too often in this forum thread, it's because I posted a question related to the golden ratio on the dev chat.
Here's the question I posted : "My question is following, when are you doing to rectify the fun factor/work factor ratio in the game? usually people tend to pay for games who gives more fun than more work. So when are you trying to balance that? I'd give you a suggestion: golden ratio."

A mere coincidence? I think not.
The number 1.337 is also very close to 1.618. -
