Tranquility is already full of ******* Russians that REFUSE to speak English and spam their Cyrillic text all over the place with ZERO chance of me understanding them.

I don't mind a little Italian, French, German or Spanish or even Norwegian and Swedish, because I can somewhat understand most of those languages, but PLEASE don't ******* encourage CCP to bring more Russians and Chinese people to TQ, it will become a ******* Babel tower where no one understands anyone anymore.

Not to mention that Chinese players have a ******* horrible habit of absolutely destroying every single ******* MMO they play with endless amounts of gold spam and botting and heavy farming.

Look at Guild Wars 2, that ******* game is already SWARMING with bots and gold sellers because of the Chinese.
I see bunches of 7-8 characters OBVIOUSLY botting and farming respawns all over the place, which are reported EN MASSE and a week or 2 later they are still not banned.
Meanwhile, gold in GW 2 isn't worth jack **** anymore and it's incredibly hard to make because of that now.
And did I mention the OBSCENE amounts of idiots that get their account info stolen because they deal with gold sellers, and whose accounts are eventually turned to botting accounts?

So yeah, NO THANKS, I love Eve too much to see it butchered by bots and ISK sellers and petitions from idiots that lost their accounts to ISK sellers.

Did you see Chribba's last Jita report? Over 80% of the messages in Local are bots or scammers/spammers.
Imagine how much worse that would get with Chinese players.

It was an interesting read. I too would love to see these comics! Especially if theyre decent enough, get them printed and put on the soon-to-be resurrected EVE Store :)

It seems a shame that something like games can be so deeply influenced by international politics - I'm sure I am not the only one that thinks merging the servers at some point in the future to great one big universe (note - not overlayed; moar systems) would be super awesome.

Thanks to CCP for the statement; it was nice to have been given an up-front "this is the situation, yo" - though i do agree with a previous poster that you should have tried to sneak in at least one diagram :P

Regarding the notions of forcing everyone to speak English; i actually thoroughly enjoy wandering through a system and seeing people converse in a language that I have no hope of comprehending without months of tutoring. It create a cultural diversity that implies a far greater depth to the universe than any high-definition space background ever could (@ccp: hint hint), and enriches the world of New Eden. I distinctly recall a long jaunt i took in a stealth bomber once, and flying through Russian territory was actually really cool. I'd occasionally wave in local, after many systems with only myself and my single Tourist in the cargohold (this is for luck) to keep me company. What i got back were lines of utter nonsense. Russian! Cool cyrillic writing! What was it they were saying to me? Was it a greeting? Some sort of warning? I don't know! But it was amazing.
That wander through space and the experience i had (inb4 "i was there") was made all the more interesting and memorable because i didn't have a clue what they were saying. Live with the Universe dude, don't try and force it to live around you.

Can you please create an ISK sink on the Western server that allows us to send Incursions to the China server. Just for fun...

Of course they could send back incursions to, but that's not to be promoted ;).

That would be a nice server crossover function ;).

And no real players would need to cross servers, just the battlesuccesreports or -failures of such "send" incursions.

On topic, this was a pretty cool read. I had also been wondering at the crazy high pop counts on Serenity over the last few months, and I'm psyched to hear that this project has gone so well for you guys. I'd still love to see the Chinese play with the rest of us some day, but as others were saying, that's unlikely with their current political system.

Just out of curiosity. Why does china have their own server to begin with? Why can't Tranquility be world wide?

I'm a long-time TQ player but would be quite interested in getting on the Chinese server, as I'm currently working in China (CCP give me a job in your Shanghai office!!). Language is no barrier (fluent in both EN and CN) but the website won't let me sign up as I need a government approved ID, so no go.

What workarounds are there to this? Would be interesting to get a new character up on Serenity to have a go at PVP there LOL

So is there a moderator in each system or what? what if someone writes Mao Sucks? is it reported or autobanned?
