Rover, Thanks for sharing the thoughts of many who've run these missions thinking "Well, they are kinda boring, but they won't last long, so what the hell."
We really would like to hear some official word on the status of this event, and "soon(tm)" doesn't cut it. ________________________________________________ From deep in space where nobody hears my screams... Sometimes in fear, sometimes in anger, mostly just my singing style. |

Players calling devs, players calling devs, anyone out there? *silence*

Lack of posts here doesnt mean that we are fine with the situation. It means only that we said all that needed to be said on this topic. Anymore would be a painful expirence to ppl writing.
To other ppl in this topic : Do we need to bump it every some time?
To CCP: Please give us ellection update.

Yep. Although I am kind of hoping that the extended downtime on Tuesday might be something to do with this, I highly doubt it. I'm more dissapointed by CCPs blatant indifference to the event, and the players taking part in it.

Giving this topic a bump (once again most likely) Right now CCP ignores all people that participated in this event. Well - there ARE some good sides to it: I was away most of the weekend, finally discovering REAL LIFE out there. Every day that goes without any reaction from the devs and the people that were actually supposed to run the event is a day that gets me closer back into the 'real' world. I am actually sitting in front of my eve client thinking to myself 'Do I really want to play this atm?' - and not the first time but increasingly often the answer to this is 'Nah!'. So CCP is REALLY helping me to get off the hook of my EVE-Addiction. (Not yet off it - but keep at messing with your customers and I'll be!) Dear CCP - thank you! _______________________________________________

Well i am sickened and disheartened with this event seems player run events are much more professional and well organised.
Although we are still running the missions enthusiam has died its now just a trawl just to get a few vouchers a day i think everybody who entered this debacle should be given a navy megathron let alone a poxy domi we were running missions so hard at the start that it was impossible to mine enough mex and i dread to think how much we spent buying the bloody stuff.
END THIS NOW CCP or do your customers mean so little to you!!!!

I think CCP has found a GREAT alternative way to stop us from wasting our time on these missions - they added to server problems that keep us from actually DOING these missions.
Well - they also keep us from doing anything else inside this universe, but then this is just a neglectable sideeffect that in turn also supports the other great goal of CCP: To help me get rid of my eve-addiction. _______________________________________________

Somehow, I consider myself fortunate for not having spent to much time on these event agents.
After getting the same dumb haul mission between 3 stations for about 5 times in a row, I tried a low-sec event agent for a couple of missions to see if I would get something more interesting. No such luck though .
CCP can promise me a gold plated Titan and I wouldn't succumb to the grind that is this event. Let's hope there is something more interesting lined up to relieve us from this nonsense.

I have now become resigned to the continuing non-appearance of the news piece Nebulai told us would be up. When I log on now I dont expect to see it, and whats more, I have stopped caring. Its just another case of CCP leading us the garden path, like the one time mooted or proposed new "eastern" ancestry type fifth race, atmospheric flight capable ships, comet mining, etc.

I am usually not one to complain, I just play the game. But this time I have to say that it seems CCP has really screwed up. The few other players that have been helping me with this seem to log on less and less, and I too feel less motivated every day.
As CEO of a large newbie corp I would like to run events, like start with the league proposed by Gwarnina in the events section of the forum, but no, I'm stuck doing these missions.
As others have said, just deactivate the agents and then sort out where you want to go from there. I don't mind waiting as long as we don't have to continue with these missions.
Obviously we have invested so much time and isk that we don't want to drop out...

Event agents have been seeded throughout the Federation that hand out missions with candidate vouchers as reward. Collect vouchers for your candidate. Collect more than competing corporations in your region and you will win. The missions will be active for at least 3 weeks. Good luck!
No, check the underlined part and compare with this;

The top five corporations for each candidate will receive a Gallente Navy Dominix Battleship as a reward. In addition, they get to nominate one of their own to become an Emissary for their chosen candidate in one of the regions controlled by the Federation. The Emissary is the charged with promoting the cause of his candidate for the presidential elections in December.
The rules are simple, all corporations with a membership of 5 or greater are eligible to sign up. However, if more than 50 corporations sign up for the same candidate, then corporation standing towards the Gallente Federation will be used to cut it down to 50.
Wow that pretty ******* lame... ---------------------------

Edited by: Tos'' Lavoch on 23/05/2005 22:30:17 I'm a mission runner, missions are what I do.....
But after just 5 missions for my Election agent I gave up and haven't looked back.
Whoever thought a election would be exciting enough to make a event out of it needs to be forced to do these dull missions for weeks on end, see how much fun it really is.
At least the Amarr got to shoot at each other for a bit.

The top five corporations for each candidates are more accurately "the top corporation in each of the five regions".
So that's why you had to choose a region.
CCP are not: *interested in prime fiction *willing to devote time to it
Taking part in prime fiction isn't worth doing the same absolutely idiotic missions (which are bugged).
If you want to see your name in the news (for whatever reason), there are lots of other ways to do it. Witness that most of the news items happen OUTSIDE prime fiction 'events' (I'll use the term loosely).
Rover gave a very detailed and accurate description of the situation.
It royally sucks and I've long since given up on it personally.

I would just like to say that aiding in the theft and handover of a Titan to a criminal organization in order to affect the outcome of the Presidential election is not something news-worthy. Apparently these things happen all the time and there are more important things to worry about.

The Titan event was the last straw for me. While incredibly fun and memorable, there was not a person on TS that didn't comment on, "Wow, I can't wait to see how this affects the game!! No way can they ignore this!!"
But, outside of one vague news post, they did. -

Edited by: Noriath on 25/05/2005 04:06:10 Yea hooray, now the presidential candidates are represented by some mission grinders!
No really, who would be more qualified for the job...
I mean couldn't they have come up with something a little more meaningfull then just even more missions? It's like everything is only about mission running, do research, run some missions, hold a public office, run some missions...
Everything is just stupid missions. That entire event is a joke.

Yes, but did we win?!? So we can go on... and do... the next... stage?!?! Hmmm, yeah, maybe we lost and don't have to do the next stage!!!!
Even though I do hope we won.
