I know these things come and go over the years, so I'm curious if there's a good one going right now. If not, then I'd like to use this thread to put one together including some up to date guides and resources. I'm sitting down to a long haul at the trading game after being away from Eve for a while, and I'd like to do a little something on the side. In addition, I really enjoyed helping people in my NPC corp, surprisingly, and would like to continue that with noob traders. I think there are enough existing materials that there's no need to make anything new, rather it is a matter of finding a few of the best and most up to date guides, and then adding whatever bulk channels, market tools, etc are active right now. Also, if there isn't a good channel right now, I'd appreciate some other old hands who are around and like helping to take some turns in the channel when they are on and feel up to it. Thanks is advance for any help. Be back to check the thread tomorrow.

All questions are welcome no matter how new you are to Eve or trading. The channel is unmoderated as long as questions are getting answered. If your conversation is interrupting the flow of answers, please take it to a private chat. This channel has been a big success so far. We've helped a lot of people through those really difficult first few steps, and everyone has been very appreciative and are now addicted to trading. We have also had a lot of drop-ins who just need a quick piece of advice or question answered before they're back off on their own again. There is also now a great regular crew of traders hanging around and having fun. If you find yourself stuck at some point or don't know what to do next, do not hesitate to drop by and ask us anything. Trading can be very hard to get a grasp of, but a little guidance and then it's easy and fun money.

A steady trickle of people need help and guidance still, though I do feel we've cleared a big group of people that have been interested in trading for a long time but never had the place to learn. Don't sit there struggling and pulling at your hair; trading in Eve is weird, and a little bit of guidance at the start goes a long way.

One of the main points I push is that a lot of trading is just getting out there and finding out what works for you. My goal for helping in this channel is to give a sense of structure to the absolute assault of conflicting opinions and information, so that you can make those first few steps towards navigating it all yourself. It just becomes practically impossible over time to the best of my knowledge. Too many hints leak out and then its a matter of skill and will to actually figure out who people are. In my experience most EVE players are really nice people even though they are pretty good at being periodically jerks. Would you maybe be interested in then putting some writings together for the lounge blog, on the topic, maybe just something a bit simplified and more directly related to the EVE universe? Its here: scc-lounge.net The reason it looks slightly neglected is there have been a fall out of participants, and I just crawled back in pod actively a while ago.

That would be a very interesting topic, especially if angled towards how to promote similar behaviour on smller scales? Like how to catalyze the emergent formation of a hub. Usually the individuals and groups proactive influence is highly underrated by most articles and commentary on hub formation history.
