when they were first introduced it was said that they wouldnt tolerate ppl hoarding the implants and stacking up huge amounts without using them etc.

that's the historical price data for CA-1s.

The implants were seeded last christmas and could only be traded on contracts until August.

After the introduction on the market prices were very volatile for a while and then settled at 40m slowly sliding towards 35m.

Next, there are some volume spikes and from mid October the prices start rising sharply, doubling until mid-December.

That rise was possible because the amount of CA-1s is limited but it was not due to them becoming more and more scarce.
Genolution implants also became scarcer every day in September and October when prices were slowly dropping.

What this graph tells you is that the market for genolution implants is highly susceptible to manipulation and that prices can move very fast if pushed hard enough.

There is no reason to panic now. My prediction is that prices will be back to above 50m within 2 months.

This is only a risky investment if by that you mean buying ANYTHING off the market is risky because CCP might want to give everyone free units of that item. With that logic everything is a risk because CCP can do whatever they want.

Potentially. We really like them as a gift as they provide a nice little bonus but not something overwhelming. I don't know if or when we will use them, but I know we are keeping the option on the table.

This is balls. Will CCP randomly seed more t2 bpos? they have never done this b4.... there needs to be warning before they fuq with the markets. On every patch notes so far that have effected the markets or players they have given ample warning!!

Actually there was this thing called invention that resulted in various T2 prices to fall down heavily once people were no longer tied to T2 bpo's. You can ask how hulk BPO owners felt like when they no longer could sell their stuff for 500 mil/each and had to settle for 200 mil/each which then went down to 100 mil for while.

Face facts, CCP is bound to do shenigans that affect value of goods, prepare accordingly when planning long term business.

CCP 2011 = Merry Xmas, we are going to give you a brilliant implant in 2 weeks, just this once (see item description)

Me = 2011 sounds like something to invest in as prices will only rise!

It's just like the Festival Launchers, they seeded the first set years ago, which drove the prices up. Had I bought and horded tons of them then they just released the new ones, it'd be entirely my fault, not theirs.

Hell for an IRL example, its like buying a bunch of Coca-Cola Christmas memorabilia and hoarding it because its worth money, then they rerelease the same thing next year.
