Hello,
since 1 1/2 years i wait for the moment, that i could play the game without the warp sound. In PvP its impossible to understand your wingman, if you are in warp. A button which deactivate the sound would be fantastic. Or a controller to reduce it.
If ccp solve this bug, i will play it with sound.

Why dont you simply zoom out ? The volume already goes down when you do.
If thats not enuff, turnt the eve sound downs and the ts sound up. Not that complicated either.
I have no problems of the type you describe. _______________________________________________

Why do people always have to go extreme? If it's too loud, don't turn the sound off completely, lower the Master Volume Level.

Sorry, zooming out EVERY SINGLE TIME I go into warp isn't a sensible soloution.

The problem is that the warp sound is so much louder than all the other sounds, that setting the master volume level to a setting where the warp sound is quiet enough results in you needing radar-dish sized ears to hear any of the other sounds properly.
It's especially bad if you're using a sound system with any sort of powerful subwoofer - which is why I play with sound off. At a volume level that gives decent playback of the normal sound effects, and the sattelites and sub tuned to give uniform response across the frequency range, I could physically feel the warp effect sound shaking things in the room. That's how much louder it is.
Though I think the real problem isn't necessarily the raw volume level of the warp sound - it's that the sound is at that level for a very wide range of frequencies, resulting in an overwhelming "wall" of sound.

I have a scroll mouse. It's still not a sensible soloution.
I'm not the one making assumptions.

Gee, that was mature.
I agree with Maya. Turning the warp sound down a bit would be a good 'quality of life' adjustment. I doubt it would take much effort from the devs. On Sisi at the moment the situation is worse because the new female voice is even more quiet than the existing one. -- (Battle hardened miner)

Sure. I refer you to my quote with the additional request to get a main before coming back.

Some guy made a program that edited it out of the game, but topic got OWNED by mods since modifing the eve client is against the eula, so i demand ccp do something about the stupidly loud warping sound, its annoying as hell. till then, im still looking for that program.

I considered that. It's a dumb reason to have sound for something that logically has no sound. Explosions have sound, yes, so do guns, that follows logic. Warping doesnt, there is no sound correlation...so why would there be sound.
Everyone knows that.

Please CCP, turn the warp sound down a wee bit. I see no need for it to be so loud.

Well, as to the sound, it could be to remind you that you're in warp, or something. It having sound isn't the problem, it having a sound so loud that it'd wibble and wobble you inside your pod till you were the same consistency as the goo surrounding you, is the problem.
Oh, and Rod, the mere fact that you need to go to the trouble of a workaround like zooming out your graphics every single time to solve a sound issue, should suggest to you that it isn't the ideal solution. At best it's a useful workaround, but it's not something that should justify not wanting a more permanent fix. If you really don't care about the issue, then you can always not read the thread.

Well, everyone knows theres NO sound in space, whatsoever. So the fact that Eve has any sounds doesn't really make sense... since nothing makes sense, whats one more non-sensical sound?

Hmm, just fiddled abit with it, and have concluded you are right. The warp sound effect needs to be lowered in volume by a fair lot. _______________________________________________

I dont think you understand my statement. Explosions have a logical sound that automatically identify them as explosions, because they are something we know to associate as such. There is no logical sound for Warping. It has nothing at all to do with the fact there is no sound in space.

Well, perhaps there IS a sound associated with "warping", but since no human has ever done it, its hard to say... thatmakes as much sense as what you're saying.
What about lasers? Do they have a "logical sound"? Hybrids? Armor repairors, hull repairors?
What about the things that DON'T have a sound associated with them in Eve, like non-warp movement? I'd think that generally anykinda engine that has big glowing trails of "fire" coming out of them would have a sound, but it doesn't
Regardless, yes warp sounds always been too dang loud.

so EVE does check stuff files on start even for sounds? That suxx, I was think I would look into it and remove warp sound and sound of sensor booster, those two sound are keeping me from hearing gun fire, explosions and mumbling of npc rats again I don't understand why CCP can't allow us to atleast delete some sounds, it's not like it would give us any advantage

Hehe There cant be a sound associated with warping unless there is sound in space, making this whole topic redundant.
Lasers technically dont make a sound, tho the electrical power used would, so that isnt farfetched.
Hybrids are real technology in use, so they likely do. Repairers, no those sounds have nothing to do with their purpose, infact you have to train yourself to recognize them in that manner.
Big Glowing Engines do too have sound in Eve, its just quiet like everything but the warp sound.
