I had a specific objective matter of fact. And mine involved having to find some pathetic loot drop from the regular NPCs, so yea i had to blow them all up and loot cans while blowing up new NPCs.
Its fun, and my point is that for HACs it would be a walk in the park, which is not what we need.

Out of further interest, just incase I am doing anything wrong, how deep did you go into the complex? Did you go into the overrun security corridor? I can barely keep up with the damage with the wolf and takes about 10 minutes to kill one cruiser in there.
And looting a can from a structure is a lot different from looting the cans dropped by rats.
First of all, the fight with rats drags across the scene, meaning you can loot out of range aggro of the next group of rats. And secondly, the moment you open up on a structure, the entire complex goes mental and all shoot you. And the can is always surrounded because of the respawn rate, as I said in the first post.
But if you just did the first level, then thats hardly the same as my situation.
And again, I adressed the fact that there are easier complexes in Ani that can be accessed by larger ships anyway. Hence the 'imballance' that is actually the main thing I am trying to address. ------

I ran all the levels. And like i said, its about not getting hit.
But a few tips: Dont go aggro on anything yourself. Use the aggro ranges of groups, making the groups aggro on you one by one instead of the entire complex.
Dont shoot the structures untill all or atleast most NPCs died.

I can't imagine we are talking about the same complex here. Don't get hit? Hard to do when the main weapons are missiles anyway. (edit, and yes I do use defenders, for all the good they do) Even in interceptor would get hit by them. And I never aggro anything that is not shooting at me. And, as I said again and again, the second level respawns faster than they can be cleared solo, or even with a group of at least 4. Meaning I can never even get in a position to shoot the target structure in the first place.
And, the last times I have attempted it, the entire second level just aggros me without me even firing a shot anyway, meaning I can hardly last a few minutes.
And for the last time... there are easier complexes in Ani that let in bigger ships! and thats the last time I will say the main point of my argument about it being imballanced. ------

I just did a lvl2 mission, didn't seem to even need the archeology skill....anyway, got a cool medium 'canyon' shield extender. Not as good as a tech2. I'm disappointed. So I figured if I keep running the mission I'll get something worthwhile. I go to get another mission and I can't. I look at the max frequency and see N/A.
Question 1. Can you run more than one mission from the same agent?
Question 2. How hard is the lvl4 one?? Anyone run the lvl4 one? I can run lvl4 lai dai, I just don't know if I should bring back up or what not. I'm flying a sacrilege with two t2 med. armor repairs and hardeners that give me about 86,86,86,75(thermal) resists. I can hold the repairs too.
Is the lvl4 one worthwhile? Or is it dumb like the lvl2?
Thanks...oh and it was a pain in the ass for the lvl2, took forever to get the reports, I had to buy them off the market because the npcs didn't spawn fast enough..mission could've expired before I found what I needed!

I have not seen a DEV post here in a very long time. Is COSMOS neglected by CCP now ?
My problem is one that has been adressed above, but never answered. Level 4 agent Varma Fujimo in Otitoh, mission "Station In Crisis - Militia Equipment (2 of 3)"
The objective is to move 18.000m3 of Pistols from one station to another. BUT you cannot accept the missions unless you are in a ship with 18.000m3 of free space in your cargo hold.
The problem for me is that you cannot even train up the industrial skill in 7 days before the mission times out. The only ships that can take this load is a Mammoth or a Iteron V. With a Mammoth you will be just short of 18k at level 4 Minmatar Industrial skill, even with 4x 27% expanders.
So I will fail this mission. From what I've seen the mission cannot be repeated once failed.
Will this be corrected ? Can this mission be reset, so I can return once I have the necessary skill?

I did petition the issue involved in my post above and had a good discussion with GM Flatboy.
Obviously the mission that is offered is going to time out in 7 days. The news is that you will be able to talk to that agent again in some weeks and finish the mission. How long the time is, I don't know but will give me time to train for a bigger ship

Fjellu - I live local to Otitoh and have a ship that could move that cargo easily. Unfortunately I won't be home until Thurdsay 20th. If the mish is still in date, I will come and shift it for you. Alternatively gimme a shout next time you get the mission and I'll shift it for you.

First. Thank you for your kind offer. Unfortunately that is impossible.
Maybe I did not expain myself correctly. The guy asking for work from this agent Varma Fujimo Has to be in a ship with 18k m3 free cargo. Agent will not let you accept the offer unless you have such a ship. In a week I could move the stuff in a frig, in a week I could train for a Mammoth, but even with 4x local hull xpanders I would be less than 200m3 short of the 18k m3 required.
I can not use a stand-in to accept the mission for me. For your info, its 9.000 pistols, so it could be easily moved in batches.
So next time I even ask this guy I will have T2 indies trained. This is just a "one mans mission".

I got a very simalar reply, on the lines of "tough luck m8" my point was that the misson above was station to station, just like a normal agent. I could understand having to have the right cargo when you have to pickup/drop off in space, but no when its station to station. Teamwork. is a lot of people doing what I say.

Edited by: I''Mouges on 01/11/2005 18:43:40 I tried one of the L3 Brutor Tribe agents last summer. I was unable to finish the mission because I could not find the Amarrian Plantation. Has ANYONE had success with scan probes/scanners with locating this bloody anomily?? If so, did you need the 192au probe?
I lost 13% standing in Brutor Tribe because I could not finish the mission... It was around 9.95 something and now is 6.xx so I can still use any Level 4 agent if I need to. I read through most of this thread and have seen the same question but no answers. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

wow, huge thread.
So I stumbled on this COSMOS thing, I'm only 14 day old character, a mission told me to search out over in that sector, the DED report for ishamomo said it was 'agent sites' which sounded interesting.. So I did as I was told, headed over there, and saw two ded gate markers.. Travelled to one found something new, agents in space that would talk with you.. thats cool.. They dont give missions though... Went to the other DED report, and I received a courier mission (1of3) to prove myself.. well I managed simply to do all 3 then the agent wouldnt give any more missions, but there are 3 here, and the second one, said go find Nugoeihuvi Dogtag 5 units. First off it was the first time it did not LINK to Airmia even though its only a jump over, second it did not link to the GATE once in that zone. Third when I got there, a cruiser actually 2 cruisers pretty much were single killing everything that was in the gate area.
so I went to local chat, and asked about the dogtags, of which I'm told to my horror that we have to camp for a LONG time. This is the first time I've even heard that this game had camping... I hate camping, it sucks when you get a group FIGHTING for a limited spawns. Turns into a mess of arguements. Anyway couple hours here and numerous spawns were fruitless till I got ganged by two defenders that wouldnt let me warp out... and buggar if I could hit them... once they got to 5k.. :(
I strongly suggest that every kill drops a tag for one. 5 kills was about what I got over that period ... also they didnt show up on market! so didnt even have a chance to buy five, though I'm told it cost 1.5m each (lol insane mission was worth only 200k with bonus).
thanks for listening

Why are there so few Gallente agents, (Specifically normal comat cosmos agents) in the Gallente cosmos, I mean it has less cosmos agents that any of the other ones.

Yes, there is one: Ampsin Achippon. However, it's not very easy to talk to her, while 4 spider drones and bunch of sentries trying to kill you.

This is the worst of what MMO play has come to. Good intent, perhaps, but what has played out is some of the most undesirable gameplay I've seen. Static complexes. These missions take you to one-upmanship land, and even playing safe by not accepting the next mission and going off to obtain whatever loot(s) you need involves having to muscle abouts with a number of other players doing the same thing. Judging by the same names in local every day, it's hard to say who is there to obtain items for their respective COSMOS missions, or just "farming" items to sell at inflated prices. A very quick example of this ****-poor gameplay of some in these areas is Midoki Urigamu's Warehouses in Otitoh. As with every other COSMOS complex, before downtime local numbers swell as pilots vie to be the first in after the downtime respawn. The ensueing fight boils down to pure SP of a player, and their DPS rate. If you are late to the party, you won't get a shot off let alone a single chance of a loot can. Which means, for all intents and purposes, your gameplay is controlled by others. There is no skill, no being "better": it's greed at work. So there you go, even if someone was to make a FAQ about COSMOS, and you had all the time at your fingertips to plan how to follow thru and execute the courier, kill, and acquire missions, your success is dependant on the works of others. On the subject of a COSMOS walk-thru, I do believe some need to drop their holier than thou attitudes. Having one won't ruin gameplay, unless the public at large thinks that such unwritten things like POS details and other, small, out-of-the-way tidbits "ruin" Eve. It's a moot point as it is, because for the most part, COSMOS is right up there with Macro Miners. Only those ruining COSMOS like the Macro Miners ruin Empire mining are doing the ruining with gusto, and even smack. You can continue to just "cope" with it by buying the items from aforementioned players, and keep the cycle going. A bit too much of Eve is just being a complete ass to one another, and I fail to see how COSMOS should continue in its current state.

Im having real trouble with this. You're supposed to find the entrance to this estate via scan probes, but despite my best efforts and an awful lot of scan probes (bought at rip off prices I may add) I cant find the entrance, despite seeing it on scanner some 69m km (about half an AU) from me.
Scan probes simply do not find the 'cosmic signature', no matter how I arrange them.
Hugely frustrating!
I am having the same problem with the same mission. I found it with the system scanner but where it is located there is no planet or betl to warp to scan closer from. I tried everything I even narrowed my scanner to a 15 degree angle and I have an idea of where it should be but still there is no planet to warp to reference. Anyone beside the two of us know how to get there? What the heck.

If you found it using scanner, next step will be to fit probe launcher and launch 3 X 3au probes and scan for cosmic signature. That's it. If you still have a problem, drop me an evemail and I will give you the plantation bookmark.

I just wanted to note that the Drone room in the Skeleton Comet is inordinately difficult. In order to get to the Correlum Safe Haven you have to kill every NPC in the room, but they are spaced out over 150km and respawn with high frequency. It takes a huge amount of firepower and cannot probably be done with less than 3 people, and even that is pushing it. Unless I am missing something that might decrease the drone spawn rate it seems to be an inordinately difficult mission just to get an item for a lvl 3 agent (the Comlink Encoder/Decoder for Krester Rupptofs). I know some COSMOS are somewhat designed to be done by multiple people, but the truth is a lot of people do missions solo. And the rewards from that particular agent aren't so great as to justify calling in two or three other people. Just my thoughts on how I think it's a bit unbalanced.

I thought of that but haven't trained interceptors yet. Didn't think they'd screw me on a lvl 3 mission, I thought that was saved for lvl 4 missions. I ended up just buying it off escrow, which I normally wouldn't do, but didn't feel I had much choice in the matter.
