I call my Gila 'Death to Ewoks', because it's kind of camoflaged and would therefore be perfect for sniping the furry fluckers in their natural environment. Oh, and my Nighthawk is called 'Nightshade'..... Deadly^^

Rifter = "The Reaver" (Firefly/Serenity fans will get it)
but alas, that one went down in flames.
2nd Rifter = Serenity (it's an ironical name, since there is no serenity in my game)

I'm in the habit of naming my ships a few different ways.
My drone ships ishkur, vexor, myrm are usually little mother, mother, and hive mother respectively.
I draw a few names from The Gap series of books. Gutbuster for blaster ships, Free Lunch ocaissionally. Soar.
I'm also a fan of the Yarr! naming convention. i.e. Enyarr!, Yarrbitraitor!, Yarranis!
Most recently I've been making up Culture influenced starship names, like Inappropriate Morality, Irrational Viewpoint, It Hums With Pleasure. Stuff like that ;)
