Gallente, of course. We would subjugate the moralities (such as they are) of the Caldari race by wideband broadcasts of Holoreel ****ography into their territory. We'd invade and take control with nary a shot, after the initial tactic left their lonely pilots with so little strength. :)

I thought that was our anti-Amarrian tactics Winter. You know, with all them priestlike religious types a bit of good old fashioned 20th century debauchery never fails to score.
As for the caldari, I'd expect we'd simply call on our great deity of TomBius to smite the Caldari's weapons after which we subdue them with our scout drones. _______________________________________________

On military grounds, the Caldari can probably fight the Federation to a standstill: they've done so before.
On economic grounds, the Federation is bound to win in the long run; it's just bigger. But such a victory would in effect destroy BOTH empires. That's why they negotiated a settlement last time.

I'd say the angel cartel would pwn everyone if they actually used half decent configs on all their ships(stop using mines and 280mms on your battleships).... Have you seen their fleets floating around in hisec space? their like 10-20x bigger than any empire presence there. And their pilots have crazy skills... they can make a battleship go 800m/s on a 1mn mwd. I'd hate to see em using real mods.

Here's my plan for attacking the Caldari. 1. I'll make a new post on Missle Nefing and the Physics of big torps and small ships vs Everything always looks bigger in the rear mirror!
2. After 30 minutes they'll all be in the forums whining and flaming, then we strike and rename their home worlds again.
3. To keep the Amarr at bay we tell them the Minmatar have discovered a gold plate eating virus.
Faulty testing kept me from delivering the "Logic Editor" earlier.
I was using my own post and it kept blanking everything out.

Just read the descriptions of the Federation Navy and the Caldari Navy. The Caldari have the more powerful navy, due to the stupid budget cuts that have slashed funding to the Federation Navy.
However, in a fleet battle the Gallente hold a large advantage due to the ability to focus fire and have instant damage. But then, the Caldari have EW ships. But then that's partly negated since the Gallente have some EW ships as well. Also, the battleships in the Gallente fleet can just use smartbombs to defend against incoming missles.
The Caldari won't be able to win any large engagements, so they'd be forced to operate in smaller groups. They would be difficult to stop. I think any real conflict would come down to who has the better leaders and pilots.

The thing with missiles is quite simple to stop, due to Gallente do have defenders who can take care of them quite good but defeating +15 drones / BS will for sure be a mess plus all gallentes can fit alot of turrets
(We do have minmatar snipers that do can take care of long range ravens with missiles ) So whats your choice, go close fear the drones , go in range, fear the snipers tempest And go real close then feel the "Jack the Ripper" Megathron blasters.

In a Gallente Vs Caldari war (not including ammar or minmitar or whoever else), the Gallente would probaly win. If each race stuck to their own ships, Caldari would be mostly missles and Gallente mostly turrets and drones. Gallante has only to load up a smatbomb or two, start pounding at caldari with the rails and drones, and courtesy of the Smartbombs the torps\missles will only rarely hit a Caldari ship. Over time, the Gallente's would wear down the Caldari, and they'd probaly win.
That's how i think it'd go anyways, assuming no other races\factions didn't interfere. Note to all my fellow Caldari's: find a new ship, one that dosent rely on missles, then we can pwn the Gallente fleets :P

Dreads spread around far behind with supports ships. Concentrating on dreads.
Cloak ships drops cans ontop on enemy once fleet battle starts and a few hundreds of megathrons with blasters warps in and smacks up everything bigger than frigs.
In a scenario like that they would probably leave and start peace talk again (Surrender big time), oh one more thing. A Jove titan would uncloak in the middle of the battle right before they leave just for the fact they can :) Or demostrate a large smartbomb wiping up an area of +150km
But I guess I am just still dreaming |

The simple fact that the Caldari have already won their independence should say all that needs to be said. Caldari have always been one step ahead of the Gallentians. Gallente has hit such a hard time that it's had to resort to allying with slaves. Pathetic if you ask me. What do they hope to gain from such an obvious sign of weakness? Amarrians see the strength in the rising tide that is Caldari. The cold war will turn quickly into a campaign of subjugating the weak. Long live Caldari!

Good god guys stop suggesting smartbomb BSes in fleet battles. Thats 1 guaranteed way to kill half your fleet before the first shot is even fired by the other side. Also you cannot jam dreadnoughts when their in siege mode so gg to the scorps while they get picked off .

and how fast do missles go? If you see a swarm of missles comming at you, the smartest thing to do is to warp out It will take hours for the missles to reach their targets in long range, EW doesnt work in long range either.
Gallente-All it takes is a rack of rails, and a bay full of scout drones (for the frigs), and gallante win \0/ btw: SBs on missle boats? LOL Gal will defineffly win then!

I'm thinking that smartbombs will help Caldari more now, since all missiles are _alot_ faster. That will make it very hard to time them in order to destroy incoming torps and cruises. Meanwhile, the SB's while be quite hard on the drones

SB + shield boosting + weaponry means that the capacitor is going to drop quickly. ok lets see... each ship will have to be 7.5km from each other otherwise risk fratricide. You will not have any frig support to hold the enemy ships down and the ships at the back will have no missiles as they wont be able to fly thru the multiple SBs going off. That nullfies half your fleet. Upclose the blasterthron is king and i doubt you'll get more than 3-4SBs off before your inbox starts blinking.

what are you talking about who said that the missiles had to be fired were the sb bs are? unless the commander is that stupid, and did you forget support/logi ships?
also did you forget other things like tracking disruptors... put a few on a dread, and lets see if they will hit anything at all then it will be missiles 4tw again
there are so many other tactical strategies, just because you dont see them or havent used doesnt mean they dont exist or dont work, do you also know the lock time on dreads when in siege mode? you could probably warp out if they are starting to target you and comeback in GG
and for those who think missiles are slow, look at the ship bonus + the new skills then tell me how slow missiles are

The commander is stupid if he tells half his fleet to use SBs in fleet battles. Theres a reason WHY the arent used at all during fleet battles.

I take it you havent been in a fleet battle before. Theres too many targets on your overview and you dont warp out when 1 person locks you. You warp out when their whole fleet starts flashing yellow :P
Originally by: Drutort

they are by no means slow but the time it takes to lock and plus the further time it takes for the missiles to reach their target by that time that target will have been long gone.

I dont really belong to the playerbase that fancies the RP thing but:
If each race stuck to its own shiptypes and with no outside interferance the caldari could win for sure.
bringing 2x as many bships wouldnt help the gallente should the caldari bring scorps for the most part, fitted to jamm gallente and then focused fire
Wouldnt be easy imo but the gallente would eventually lose, tho the caldari prolly would have the numbers to subjugate the federation... tho they could just massacre the whole lot of them

Well in looks and style the gallente fleet would look much better with the megathron, the sleek thorax, maulus and aload incursus and thenn u have the caldaris points ugly ships although they have better names they look awfull i think like the raven, moa, ospery and griffin

Originally by: SengH Good god guys stop suggesting smartbomb BSes in fleet battles. Thats 1 guaranteed way to kill half your fleet before the first shot is even fired by the other side. Also you cannot jam dreadnoughts when their in siege mode so gg to the scorps while they get picked off .
Yeah, hf targeting a ship while your in seige mode to meight; think you might find it a TAD IMPOSSIBLE.

Suppose the Gallante/Minmatar vs. Amarr/Caldari war would ever come to pass, I'm pretty sure that over a shorter or longer period of time Gallante/Minmatar would become the dominant power.
Why? One reason, if Gallante and Minmatar are suddenly forced to stick together they will become one. Their values aren't exactly the same, but compatible on some level.
When Caldari and Amarr are forced to work together they will sooner or later have internal conflicts, simply because their systems are so different. The emperor will simply never regard anyone who got to power through nothing but money as an equal, since that is just against everything the Amarr believe in. The Caldari will find it extremly difficult to deal with a society where blood and birthright counts for way more then money also, since in their state the only thing that matters is how much money you have...

1, you cant have every seen many good ew pilots in your time in eve, with ion field projector 2's and good bs skills you get a pretty good optimal range of about 110k and its only going to take 2 or 3 of them to jam a mega out of the battle for a while.
2, its not like you would even need to use the SB's on our ships very often as there only for drone defence and last time i checked the range of drones was pretty small, you would have to be within 35k or so.
3, i'd guess the sb's used would all be explosive and the scorps would fit a hardner to counter that, giving them about 80% resistance.
4, the caldari fleet wouldnt be doing much sheild tanking either as all fleet battles i have been in the primary target doesnt realy have much of a chance to use them anyway, we would just be trusting our ew skills.
5, it wouldnt be to easy to stop every mega from shooting back but dont forget that you will be being shot at yourselves by the caldari fleet at the same time, even if we only jam out 50% of your ships thats still enough to swing the battle our way, IMHO
6, and finaly, im sure that we could both go on and on about the perfect fleet and the perfect circumstance in which to fight, i guess you could say that your mega's could be firing at over 110k and that the fleet couldnt jam you out, which is a fair point, but in the end there will only be one way to tast it out
Anyone wanna fight my scorp in their mega ?
1 scorp > 1 mega
10 scorp > 10 mega
100 scorp > 100 mega

Gallente would win, no contest. We'd send whatever passes for Oprah on the Gallentean networks to talk to the Amarr/Caldari leaders, and they'd be crying sissyboys within minutes. The EVE universe will then be reduced to a state of total carebearism.
Ich, that's to horrid, even for me.

Scorps have such crap damage output that a fleet of them would struggle to kill anything. One Mega easily equals 3 (or 4) Scorps in terms of damage.
Also, the Scorp is a new ship. The description says it's a prototype so you won't find a fleet of Scorps anyway. The Raven is the main battleship of the Caldari Navy.
This vid has a bunch of Scorpions in battle

... You do know that the federation is much bigger then the caldari state. So, it would proabably be more like: 100 scorp < 200 mega

The Federation Navy may be bigger, but it's Navy has fewer bs.
Quote: The Caldari Navy is smaller in personnel and total ships than both the Federation Navy and the Amarr Navy, yet they have more battleships than any other fleet and the average age of the Caldari ships is considerably less. This is because the Caldari are constantly replacing their oldest ships with newer ones, with better hi-tech equipment. The strategic doctrine of the Caldari Navy is simple: to be able to defeat any other navy in the world. Most experts believe it is.

Damage still wont get you very far if you cant target, and a group of scorps could still focus fire to beef their dmg.
Its description has said that its a prototype for about 2 years now, if you ever found yourself without anything better to do than to read the short story "ruthless" you would know that the raven is actually newer then the scorpion.
