Now that they removed GCC, FW is really just for the farming.
Being neutral is delivering many more plex fighting opportunities. There is no need to limit yourself to only about half the targets that might be in a plex at one time. Moreover you always have access to nearby ships since you don't need to orbit buttons to dock. I can keep my kestrels everywhere!
I'm not knocking FW by the way. I will keep pve alts in it because it is very good paying pve; better than incursions. I'm just saying with the gcc removed I don't see why pvpers limit their targets so much.
Of course, if there was some sort of notification system, then there would be a reason for pvpers to join fw. Forget the notification system. What you want to do if 6 stabbed galmils are coming into system? Catch them? They have cloaks and stabs fitted (EVEN ON VEXORS!!!). Locusts everywhere. No we need a warpcore stab ban, a notification system and better rats. But we all know that this won-¦t come :P If you combine a notification system with some sort of rollback timer the farmers will be wasting their time and stop. You don't need to catch them. Just don't let them hide and plex for profit. By ending the hide and seek plexing the farming will all but end. The only people left taking plexes will be those who are willing to fight for them. You might know where some large force is plexing but there are dozens of plexes being taken by hide and seek plexers every minute.
Rolling back timer is what would hurt them since no one is going to chase them around for more than 5 minutes. If you want to chase farmers around now, its not like they are hard to find dude. Some ******** notification hardly helps. |

Sorry. I maybe generalized too much. In fact we even had some good fights vs gals (yesterdy for example) and gal fights are mostly good fights because they aren-¦t these boosted punks like minnies. I am simply raging that we in fact still have farmwars. Maybe even worse than in Inferno. In inferno the farmers mostly hadn-¦t any spare fitting possibilities to fit 2 warp core stabs. Allthough I remember that minmatar could have been called "stabbed slashers" in august, but farming seems easier than before. Sorry if I offended someone. Simply raging. |

This is what you don't get. There would be no more chasing if we had a notification system.
If they leave the plex that is all you care about. You don't need to chase them. You can run your own plex in the meantime.
If they go back into a plex then someone from your miltiia can go in the plex and fight them. If they leave again there is no need to actually chase them. You can just run the plex they opened, or let the timer run down due to a rollbacks. There is no need to chase them because as long as they are not running a plex you don't care where they go.
Without notifications you need to chase them if you want to prevent them from plexing. Becasue otherwise they will just go a few systems over and start a new plex and you won't realize it.
You claim that you already know who is plexing in all of the 101 systems in the caldari/gallente war, but your claim is not credible. In any case, if you already know this then what is the harm? Make faction war occupancy pvp instead of pve https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=53815&#post53815

The farming is not as bad as it was because they made it so you have to kill the npcs before the timer runs and they reduced the payouts.
But the vast majority of plexes are still taken without any pvp. So your right, its still just a broken pve mechanic. Make faction war occupancy pvp instead of pve https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=53815&#post53815

So now you want to know WHO is plexing a system too? ******* christ man, why not just have a button that automatically spawns a war target 10km away from you at will?
I dont care who is plexing a system, if its a system i want to defend i will be there, if not then i wont. I dont want a notification so i can stalk the odd farmer around the warzone and in your words somehow still run my own plex in the meantime.
I think i can speak for most people that we dont want to know where farmers are, we want to know where the pvp is. Plex PvP is already pretty easy to find.
I dont understand your motivations, all i know is that it is the worst, most unrealistic (in terms of it being implemented), most inconsequential idea out there. Stop banging on about it please. |

I honestly did not think we were going to be able to do a medal when I was investigating our options, since all the staff involved with the Caldari one left the company some time ago. However thanks to CCP Greyscale's research, CCP Eterne's writing and CCP Creber Cattus' programming we were able to get it completed.
I do want to make clear that we cannot guarantee medals for any future warzone captures for any militia. We'll do what we can time and workload permitting, but we cannot make promises about future cases at this time. If we come to fanfest, can we still get a high five? Of course.
Sweet. Fozzie, I think we will make shirts so its easier for you to identify us to give us our high fives.

o/ Grats to all, happy days :)
I am currently unable to log in to eve, having to rebuild a pc and on a laptop. I understand from another thread that not everyone gets the medal, can anyone enlighten me as to what conditions decide this?
I'm interested as my main was the one doing the months worth of grinding, but has been inactive for the last few days (waiting for RL payday), and will be reactivated on wednesday. Part of me regretfully assumes that because he will have been inactive on the day of awarding that i'd have no shiny. A smaller optimistic part of me hopes that as he was heavily involved in the campaign this would have been recorded somehow.
Either way, Congratulations to all! o/ Happy D-day too, I know it's around here sometime :) |

Congrats. Thanks. And a salute of respect to you and all the HE duders that fought hard to keep us from doing it. Even after you left Calmil after the fall of Raka (which it appears you have back now, all things in their time). You guys are the most respected group in Calmil for me and most of the galmil that I know and talk with.
Dogsquat, Drama, and Hiding Serpent can whine all they want (oh and crow now that you guys have taken back some systems, which totally undermines their argument ) but this was a big effort of pvp, and would not have happened without pvp. The current mechanics depend on farmers as well. But neither alone can conquer the warzone without the other. So now that Caldari has taken some back maybe they will recognize the incredible contribution of their farmers as well? Also, when Caldari did it and held it for a long time it was under a different set of rules and mechanics. They are each different accomplishments both worthy of medals. Although, from what I hear as it was before my time, I can't resist saying that the calmil control of the warzone was definitely a pve driven accomplishment.
Anyway, thank you CCP.
And, maybe you could turn the dial up on the pve difficulty of offensive plexing a little, and turn the lp dial down a little on the lp payout for defensive plexing and the porridge may become just the right temperature. |

How is that the FW systems fault? What's the difference between a farmer sitting in a plex and nobody comes to bother him, or someone looking for some pvp sitting in a plex and nobody comes to fight him?

That is my point. You wouldn't need to chase them.
The smart militia will then spread out (7 pvp active pilots minimum is all it would take to be within about 3 jumps of any system) and someone who is close to that new system would kick them out. No chasing.
They could keep going but eventually they would realize that if they wanted to capture a plex they would need to fight for it. Make faction war occupancy pvp instead of pve https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=53815&#post53815

Congrats to the Galle, and here's to the Caldari pushing back!
The most impressive part, to me, is that you were able to hold on to all your systems while pushing the remaining. Pushing a WT held system is much easier, IMO, than defending, because the reward is greater, and the chance for fights higher than D-plexing a backwater system. That must have taken a serious effort and coordination. Hats off to you. |

If they were constantly scouting, they would constantly find farmers, i assure you. If chasing these farmers out of plexes is what you and you alleged 6 friends want, then have a go. Finding them is easy, the notification idea is a joke.
Every system in every direction from my home system has someone running a plex most hours of the day. Why would i need a useless notification to tell me what i already know? Idiocy. |
