The Latin term for the Common Raven is Corvus Corax.
The new Caldari Destroyer is the Corax.
Someone probably told the art department: "Have a pic of that raven destroyer shooting down on the planet" and they ran with it.
(Ignore the fact that the Corax is a missile boat.)

I've noticed that in most of the trailers, Caldari ships are used in abundance.
Guess they just assume most people would find them cool looking.

Or easiest to identify as the trope human space ship for someone who has never played the game. Just seeing any of the other races doesn't show they are all human. The only time they like to show any other racial ships is with speech or avatars to accompany them. Without Sansha Kuvakei in the incursion trailer, wouldn't it look like powerful alien invasion clich+¬ #1. |

the raven has four gun slots - and only small guns can be used for the bombardment if i read the info correctly, so a raven sporting defensive missile points (or a cloak) and being set up with the bombardment weapons does make sense ^_^ |

My recollection of anything past about a month ago is hazy (except for silly trivia), but wasn't the Raven a damn fine sniping platform about...6-7 years ago?
Even if my recollection is true, all it does it make it more than just a "missile boat" historically speaking. However, this inclusion of lasers is an affront to the Caldari State and no doubt their lawyers will be in touch.
I knew affiliating with the Amarr would cause nothing but trouble.
