so, thought a personnel agent didn't really give out kill missions, but i hade to try=)
so got an angel venganze mission.
to the question, what are these missions like? (can't really remember witch mission is witch)
and would it be possible in an ishtar?
in that case, what to tank agains mainly

Extravaganza is one of the most difficult level 4 missions, i fear your ishtar will be reduced to space dust quite fast. Especially since youre up against angels, who do all 4 damage types.

well, not the extravaganza(my misspelling that made you think it was a extravaganza i guess=)), then i would be smoked, yes=) (been there a few times before :p)

first of all I beleive that all lvl4 missions are still kill missions. When lvl4 agents became available the missions were kill only, there may or may not be plans on adding other mission types. second solo in an ishtar on any lvl4 mission is a bad idea. Get big tankable ships with friends and work the lvl4s untill you know what to expect from each one, then decide what you would need to do them with less.

Now, the lvl 4 Vengeance isn't soloable at all - the final boss shield tank is wicked hard - it's impossible to break his tank solo unless you're a Torp Spec'ed Raven pilot, but the Raven can't get thru the rest of the rats to get to him without switching loadouts several times.
Me and a friend went after him tonight, and it took both of us, me in a Tempest with 2 Sieges, 2 Cruises, and 4 Autocannons, and him in a Typhoon with 4 Sieges, 2 1200's, and 2 720 scouts, all firing Explosive ammo (Hoborak's weakest attribute), to get his shield down.

The amarr version is a brease.. a quick 20 mill in the pocket (pre patch), tho after patch, the end boss got a bit harder. (2 BS's instead of 1  ). But then, Sansha is so easy to tank  .

The cladari one isn't soloable either.
It took me (specilized in torps... doing 310 damage against his shields) and a ganking apoc shooting at him doing NOTHING. Only way we killed it was when the apoc could get his drones on the bloody hippie.
At least it dropped a basic cap relay.

I am doing the caldari version right now, got throug all the stuff they threw at me, but the shield tank of the boss is seemingly unbreakable O_o |

FYI since day 1 of EXODUS there have been level 4 courier missions. Many of the Important storyline missions are kills though. Its quite possible to do only hauling missions if you just select the right agent. Of course you will have to like hauling 120-140k m3 now and then

for you raven pilots, bring some1 in an enyo or harpy, i did this missions halfway (then he had to quit) in an all out dmg setup with torps on my raven, he tanked the BS's and cruisers (wraths hitting him for 7 and he got excellent hits of 5-7 dmg on him, so easy tanking for an enyo or harpy) while i take them out, let your drones eat the frigs (and cruisers will die easily as well by them) and it's really well doable

yep the Caldari NAvy one is same until last (3rd stage).
and the tank on Rachen whatever her name is, is SOFA KING hard to break.
my mega couldn't tank the dmg (it normally can & I had to warp out).
went back in & with the help of a mate with cruise missles (trying anti frig setup) we finally killer her... but omfg. |

The final boss in the Caldari misison is Rachen Misuna.
Impossible to kill with a single raven, he shields boost for around 1500 a pop.
I helped my wife in a Cerberus, she in a Raven, and we couldn't break his tank.
I had to come back in an Eagle to get the job done.
I guess it is soloable with all torp/missile skills maxed, but those who fit cruises to their raven will never do it.

Call me nuts but I do this in my tempest. I broke his tank with 4 faction cruise launchers (wrath cruise missiles)and 4 1400mm scout (fusion ammo). In addition to this, I deployed 4 vespa and 4 Beserker drones.
I got all gunnery skills at level 4 (No Tech2) and cruise missiles/RoF to level 4 as well + all other new missile skills at level 3. And 3 caldari navy bcu to help increase firerate to under 9.5 sec per launcher.
I have to admit it was impossible to kill from range, but once withing 30KM, I tried again (flying straight in using my fast tempest (183 m/sec). This time he was dead before my missile tubes were empty, and i needed just 1 reload for my guns!
So as with most well tanked NPC, you need to get close enaugh to counter defender missiles and then they will go down!!! And you can cut trought the rest of the rats as well, you just need a real good tank to do so and the appropiate skills. The mission is as hard as it always was for me, the mission objective a bit harder, but not impossible!

Hi,
I could solo the boss too now. Either he was weakened a bit in the last mini patch, or my setup was better this time. Addidionally to the 6 siege launchers with juggernaut torps, i used 2x 425mm rails with antimatter. i had to reload only once, he ate about 200 torps before he popped.

I did the minmatar Vengeance lvl 4 solo quite easy. I wiped out ALL the enemies with my armour tanked megathron but got stuck on Horobak Moon the boss. The shields seemed to be to strong, however i went to base and re-fitted my ship with 7 Close range Modal Mega Neutron Particle Accelerators. I also applied 2 Magnetic Field Stabilizer IIs. I forced my way into point black, and with the help of a few drones he lasted about 2 minutes.

Heavy resists.
I tried it for the first time in my apoc tonight (serpentis version). Managed to kill everything but a Core rear admiral and the final boss, simply because to tank the damage i had to devote full cap to my armor repairers, and 2 cruise launchers and 5 med drones just didn't do nearly enough damage. Had to have a corpmate come in for that little extra, but once in, he went down in a minute.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I have no problem killing the boss. It takes me about a minute, regardless of range (these days). And I dont fly a raven :)...I have seen cruise missile spamming ravens (with named launchers and two faction BCU) struggle with the dude tho. If only they had the speed to get close, then they would kill it, otherwise Turrets FTW :).
So for all you raven pilots, use an afterburner, fit a strong sustainable 5 slot tank, backed by pdu II's and use two T2 or better BCU. You should have no problem killing!

the Republic Fleet (mimatar) versionĘs boss is a 2.5mil isk called "mobarch Moon". I used a raven and
-Use bane torps only,
-2 BCU T2 to increase damage per second and break tank,
-tank for EMP as he fires mjolnir torps,
-rush him with afterburner and unleash Berserker drones and nos his a$re.
But make sure you have cleared the area as you want a 1 ū 1 fight only.
