Now I work out and know sometimes things can smell bad, but im not stuck to them and the fanfest videos show very little space to breathe (or move).

What measures will CCP be taking to prevent this health hazard?

Do what I do. Use Old Spice and smell like a man, man.

How hard is it to take a shower and put deodorant on?

CCP please include a neckbeard trimming kit in the welcome pack.

CCP can you force people to take showers and improve their hygiene?

Do you want the bathroom dispensers to be stocked with deodorant and cheap cologne?

Maybe standard minmatar issue right guard should be given out at the enterance?

Oh wait! We should probably treat people like a prison does and strip them down and dust them with delousing powder and give them clean prison issues to wear!

I'm bringing giant cans of Lysol with me. Any offensive odor I come across will be met with jets of disinfecting spray.

Just make sure you wash before getting inked. And follow the instructions about washing after getting inked. And just wash in general, at least three times a week if not every day.

Clean water and covered sewage were the two greatest medical advances in the history of the human race. it's a shame more people don't recognise this.

If it's too offensive, just make it a security and health risk and ask them to leave and shower. Just take em aside and let them know.

Some might say that's offensive to them and embarrassing, but that's no reason others should have to deal with near vomit inducing stench. Just pull them aside gently and whisper that they need to do SOMETHING about the BO or they will be asked to leave until such time that it is taken care of. If they get aggressive and pushy, show them the door.

I do this at work to any employee that has bad BO. It's a valid safety hazard...

Geological cycle? No, the hot water smelling of sulphur is a year-round thing. If you're lucky, the hotel heats its own water, eliminating the smell. But in most cases, the hot water will smell like sulphur.

I got the impression that it comes and goes in potency, but if you say so. It could just have been a matter of picking different hotels at different times.

The result is much the same, though, and waiting a few days to get used to it (for those visiting fanfest) often means you're already on your way back home by then.

I would think the smell of alcohol and vomit would mask the BO smell. Granted it does make it worse not better.

baths have been very popular since the ancient mediterranean cultures started building huge public houses specifically for the purpose of bathing. and they remained popular for thousands of years. it was not until the late middle ages when baths took a break from european (and i stress european because everyone else was still bathing lol) societies. all because some nutbags decided and convinced the general populace that bathing was "bad for the health" that nudity was shameful. even for the purpose of bathing.

we've since relearned that bathing is marvelous (thank you 1600-1700's) trade with asia) and that everyone should do it.

except perhaps if you have a water allergy.

Folk died form plague because they were in close proximity to rats, more specifically, rat fleas which carried the bacteria, Yersinia Pestis, which could and did jump onto humans once the host rat population was insufficient to provide enough host bodies for the flea population.

Personal hygiene had very little to do with it.

tsk, tsk, tsk... Folks need to learn how to plan more diplomatic style solutions to the problems.

Example:

- Hold the conference at Icelandair Hotel Reykjavik Natura - they have a swimming pool and set up around that.
- have the hotel over chlorinate the water a bit and step up the filter pumps a touch.
- Get 'bouncers' who's job it is to 'bounce' folks into the pool who are offensive in that way, then fish them out.

A brief PC apology for the accidental bump into the pool but they do come out a tad fresher than they went in. If a bit more is needed, a couple more "oops" are applied... problem solved!

Taking bathes is a disgusting habit where you stew in your own swill. Shower, people, SHOWER! Unless you enjoy the smell of your own stink and poop and whatever else clings to your body, permeating your pores, and truly becoming at one with yourself.

The only sensible (and potent) solution would be to do something about men to women attendee ratio of 99.99:0.001.

It is most likely that the vast majority of EVE Online players' female interaction during their pitiful existence, involved only with their own mothers or grandmothers

Men do not need to concern themselves with obnoxious BO smell with other males, but when there are other female counterparts, the whole attitude changes.

Last year was actually ok. 2009 was disastrous.
Maybe the welcome pack for attendees should also contain a bar of soap ("Fleur de Gallente") and a leaflet informing about its use.

I'm glad to see Old Spice has made a comeback these last few years. For decades they were primarily a product only grandpas bought.
