I have been speaking to a few people who attended fanfest last few times, and their words were "...the stench of BO is so unbearable especially when its such a small hall, if you are planning on going either take a hot girl with you to scare away the nerds or wear a gas mask, its that bad when everyone begins to party..."
Now I work out and know sometimes things can smell bad, but im not stuck to them and the fanfest videos show very little space to breathe (or move).
What measures will CCP be taking to prevent this health hazard? |

Last year was actually ok. 2009 was disastrous.
Maybe the welcome pack for attendees should also contain a bar of soap ("Fleur de Gallente") and a leaflet informing about its use. |

So....im not sure what youre expecting here. CCP can you force people to take showers and improve their hygiene? Do you want the bathroom dispensers to be stocked with deodorant and cheap cologne? Maybe standard minmatar issue right guard should be given out at the enterance?
Oh wait! We should probably treat people like a prison does and strip them down and dust them with delousing powder and give them clean prison issues to wear! Take that Farva! Sorry about the delousing powder. Its powdered sugar. The lice hate the sugar. Its delicious.
Unfortunatly CCP has no control over people in RL. You cant force a shut-in to bathe and smell nice. All i can suggest is maybe a menthol based ointment swabbed in and around the nostrils. Itll help with the smell.
Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings? |

The best defense is a good offense....Bring your favorite stink-em, and soak your clothes in it before heading out.....
Then they will be as offended by your smell as you are by their's....Everybody wins.....

There is a solution for this. It's called smoking. Alas it has been banned in many countries and the primary reason for me to not visit bars. Not that I mind smoking a cigarrete outside but because of the intense reek of a human horde. There exists a simple solution: introduce a synthetic tobacco scent in your airfilter. I. KID. YOU. NOT. Things were a lot simpler when people had cheaper clones in irlsec. |

I'll be bringing this. It conveniently comes in a travel-size bottle small enough to take through security.
I attended in 2009 and actually didn't notice a problem. Of course, maybe I was "that guy." LOL.

I don't think the problem is that the nerds don't shower and deodorize - The problem is that when you're used to sit in a small, dark room all the time and communication is heavily filtered through a microphone, actually being in the same physical location as so many other real human beings can be an terrifying ordeal. They have to manage their social anxieties, focus on trying to be as normal as possible and remember that they're no longer hidden behind their monitor, so now they actually have to show respect and courtesy.
TL;DR: What you can smell may well be fear and anxiety, not a lack of hygiene (although the truth is probably somewhere in between). |

Iceland has a list of names you are allowed to call your son or daughter. There was recently an incident where an Icelandic girl had to fight a court battle to be called the name given to her by her mum.
So they should be able to handle showers.

Apparently very very difficult. The same problem exists as most cons. The last few I have attended they had a few booths there with soap and doeoderant and a sign that says gamers don't let gamers game dirty. |
