Well, Im hoping that this is just one of many quick patches that will be forthcoming in the next few weeks? Im sure you are aware of the various bugs, annoyances, and other minor problems introduced with this patch (not to mention the laundry list of outstanding bugs since Exodus release)?
My current selfish concerns are:
1. All the GUI stuff mentioned in various threads over the week.
2. Drone on drone action. Lets fix the lil buggers or we'll be overrun 9 months from now (for those who dont use drones, this is where a swarm of drones get stuck humping eachother and putter along at 1/100th of their supposed speed).
3. Not sure if this is a bug or my ignorance, but NPCs seem to do insane damage to me with missiles while I (even with the new skills trained to L3/4) seem to be doing the opposite? No, this is not a "Missile Nerf" whine, its more of a "WTF am I doing wrong to be outclassed by every NPC in the game" whine .
4. Drones being the preffered target of choice. Bug or feature? Would just like to know so I can direct my skill training appropriately. Needless to say T2 drones will be worthless in PvE if they get popped everytime you encounter a group of NPCs.
Glad to see the voice is getting a tweak. It wasnt on my top list of concerns though, thats for sure. Neither was upping the power of civilian weapons

From the list of changes in the patch notes, I would guess this is a server patch only, not a client patch.
Client patches are alot more hassle (testing and distribution-wise) and so are going to happen alot less often than server patches. In fact alot of these changes are probably no more than new/changes to data in the database and dont involve a server code change at all.
So yeah, there are alot of things that could be changed on the GUI, but they are going to have to wait for the next client patch, whenever that may be.
Or Im completly wrong, which is also very likely.

Here's a good improvement that should have been included.
I understand the whole Torps have problems hitting small frigs thing, but exactly why am I doing less damage to stationary targets now? Why are my torps veering off to the side of a turret and causing half the damage they were even with my new skills now at 3/4.
Just for giggles I shot a few torps at a War Installation...there they go off to the side...less than half the damage I used to do. Come on guys, stationary targets should not be affected...stationary targets should fear torps.

Totally agree with the complaints here. Like, why don't torps do full damage to stationary targets??? That is really dumb.
I actually gave up on my raven for a while and am flying a mega...it is a fun ship to fly :)
Hopefully they squash some of these bugs with this mini-patch....only time will tell I guess...

My ONLY complaint thus far is that the in-space missions in the Forge region are getting extrememly difficult to complete.
Granted it has improved teamwork but not in the anticipated ways. I have spent three nights now looking for the Nugeoihivi dogtags. The other players in Local and I have been working together quite well, trading items when we blast the ships coming in but there are so few ships coming in that we are unable to get all of the items that we need. I know that we are given more days to complete the missions but I still have not had enough time to get the miners. There are more people there than NPCs spawning and we can not get the items we need.
PLEAAAASE increase the spawn rates by a large number and if possible, reset the missions timers (or maybe add a day or so more onto them) otherwise I am not going to be able to complete the missions, and neither will several others, and thus we'll not be able to get any more from that in-space character.
Thank you very, very much for reading!
Sincerely,
Xenex McScott

Nice to see a fix though. Now I'm off to prepare to whine about how the "old" voice was 200% better and made baby jesus happeh
I bet that if they changed it back there would be a lot of posts about bringing the new voice back, and in most cases the people whining about bringing the old voice back now would do the whining then about getting the new voice back.
That is garbage. You know full well that if the old voice was brought back, moaning about voices would be at a minimum.I never saw any posts pre-patch saying "this voice sucks, we need a new one!"
And of course, with CCP totally ignoring our requests for voice and GUI changes, this patch is doomed to fail. "Hobbes, she stepped into the Perimter Of Wisdom.Run!" |

Overview bug is REALLY annoying too.
PS I really liked the stuff about civilian guns.

Yeah, I'm almost done with armored warfare to 5, I've got my warfare links, but not the adv. warfare spec skills to be able to use them.
Leave the voice alone.
Bring back /me.
And overview, OMG horrible! I was at that little ceremony for the emperor yesterday . It was like a random smattering of color. I almost shot PIE about 5 times 'cause they kept flashing red and my war enemies were showing up either blue or green. _________________

maybe you should try deleting the eve\cache\machonet folder like it's said in the MOTD since patch day

make just the old voice accesible by a checkbox in the settings. then it is unneccessary, to rename the new sound.stuff to something and copy the old one into the right directory. it works, but something may be wrong in coding : first, old voice said : waypoint reached, then new voice sad : waypoint reached, no <something??> set. same thing with warping to stargates in different regions : old said : warpdrive active, then new : warping to statgate ???? check coding

Ok Doesnt it say patch notes a subject to change?
And also it mentions in anaother thread about LODing ( when u zoom out and the level of detail drops ) It was said that in the next mini-patch ( before this one was announced ) that they would give players the ability to turn on/off these effects, But they aint in the patch notes. So either CCP was lying when they said this or they just havent put it onto the notes.

Well, that seems like something usefull... lets wait a bit more for now, until then have fun reading correct descriptions of skills, we don't want that do we? I mean if they worked wrong we couldn't fix it, but if its just the description lets make a patch!

Edited by: Tiny M on 12/07/2005 11:54:42 I dont give 2 monkeys about the voice, my 2 concerns are:
1) Overview : I have mine set not to show gang or + standing players, but how come when I go to lock a target (the only thing in overview), it locks a gang mate?
2) Cruise Missiles : I get hit by NPC cruise in my hac for 58 damage whilst im stationary and get hit for the same when im orbiting them @ 900m/s

um arch blood sages - issue a keep at range order for 51km - instead youre ship flies straight at them. Bug it is fix it.
Keep at range does not mean approach if under the range it means run away if you can to reach said limit.

Patch Notes have been updated with more fixes and improvements. The previous version of the Notes was to make the patch known and to get a partial list uploaded while the rest of the notes were being assembled.
As stated in the News Item, the Notes are subject to change and addition.

Nope..still no option to change the font..you do realise that that needs to be done right? Your alienating your current player base to bring in new guys from Asia..that's real kind of ya "Hobbes, she stepped into the Perimter Of Wisdom.Run!" |
