Ok, so what's the best gank ship out there now after all these patches/nerfs/updates. Is it still the trusty gankageddon, or is it an autocannon tempest, or a blastathron?

think the only really "gank" ship is a 1400mm gank fitted tempest...
one moment your cruising twords the gate minding your own buisness...
the next your in your pod with !? hovering above your pod...

I duno my corp m8 with 7 mega pulse II and 8 heat sink II did amazing damage
wreaked for 1.2k damage and has like a 2sec rof I think

As far as I know the geddon has higher DOT, but the Tempest deals a lot more damage in the first volley and has better damage types...

Well, me in a geddon with 7 standard megapulse and 8 HS II's, I do 417% more damage than an apoc with 8 standard megapulse. If u had TII megapulse, and Amarr BS 5 a geddon would do 608% more damage than the apoc.

The only true gank ships in the game are the Tempest and Megathron. That thing people pass off as a gankageddon is quite silly tbh. Sure it does DoT. Sure it has massive kills on book. However, it lasts all of 10 seconds in 90% of all situations and needs wingmen to do 50% of the workload. Take your 608% DoT increase over a apoc and throw it out the window. Nothing ganks like a 1400II Tempest with lv 5 in all the right places... runner up is a 425II mega w. lvl 5 in all the right places.

Gankgeddons with 7 megapulse II's and a full set of damage mods... I've killed a Battlecruiser in less that 9 secs...
I think he died so fast he never even hit a shield booster/armor rep even once. My corpmates said it was only 2 volleys but the killmail was received 9 seconds after I started firing on them at a gate. And since I have 2.5 sec ROF it was more likely 3-4 volleys.
But;
Used with Blasterthron fitted to gank, its a great combination... (The Gankgeddon strips the shields easily and the Blasterthron tears through armor like nothing else)

tempest with 6 gyros and 6 650 ii's autocannons has a sub 1.6s rof and a dmg mod of like 5 or something

Anything with alot of turret slots can be set up for the gank. The current most impressive gank ship imho is the mega beam geddon.
7 Megabeam II
2 Sensor Booster
1 Tracking Comp
7 Heat Sink
1 RCU II
You need a 3% cpu implant but after that you will  every time you open fire. If I have a choice nowadays I'll take that ahead of the tempest tbh, but it's a close call because the tempest is just so cool in it's volley and versatility.

I would have to aggree, i got L Blaster spec 4 and i wreaked for 1800 ( pure un-resisted dmg btw ) gonna test it out on lvl 5 soonÖ

Cheapest gank ship is by far the geddon and reqs. least skills to use ... not saying its a skill less noob ship with right skills it really dishes out some nasty damage ... but i Prefer Megathron over gankgeddon but megathron is way more expensive
i got most my skills in Gallante spec. skills large blaster/ rail spec but if i had equal tempest skills i would fly the tempest for gank due to its much higher burst damage with those 1400I/II¦s cus if the target warps out after first wolley you would get a second shot with any gun really so maybe destroying him in first is nice 
Who needs a shovel when you have a nice big cannon?

Would say TII 425 Mega and Tempest TII 1400
The later is known to do nasty things to all and anything under a BS that get's hit by for him the wrong Dmg type.
They r going down in first volley pretty often.

As an Amarr-only flier, I'm glad the Geddon ranks right up there. But as a player, I'm glad there is such a close call between the different bs races, nice to have a spread.
I've tried fitting a gank setup on the geddon but couldnt fit all the hs's, I've got coming up to 7m sp so not a total noob  , guess I just need more skills.

Yes i fire slower then a geddon, however I have never been beaten by one. It is hard to get a 1v1 on tq nowadays but I have tested on this in the test server many times and i can comfortable take out 2 geddons, although I will end up in structure.
Saying this tho my tempest skills are maxed

not sure how you can kill 2 gankageddons tho,
with ok skills 1 ganka do around 1000DPS, 2 do 2000...you should die be4 you can fire 2nd volley , unless ofcourse you are not in their optimal

You'd be lucky to get a lock in your tempest if the geddons were as souped up as you obviously are. Unless ofcourse you waste your midslot advantage with with sensor boosters. Everybody has their *****pot stories.

This is what you get, if using 5 mag II dmg mods in my Megathron.
I would say up to 20-30km the geddon could outdamage me. Above 90km the Tempest will for sure.

In the end does it really matter, they all do a job. We all know we are talking about mass ganks here.
But if we are talking about fleet then different. When we get a good number of tempests in gank in TRS we kill bs often before most can get a lock even with a sensor booster2 on.
What give me a hardon is 10 tempests and 2 scorps in gang. 1 scorp for ew and 1 with target painters on. OOOOoooh ye
